Even small garden, sometime I m lazy to maintain. But I never think of cement it at all. The house will be hot with the heat reflect.

It is very nice and beautiful to have a grass garden. Specially morning when you look out and see your garden so green. While sipping your hot coffee. thumbup.gif

And I want to have some oxygen too breath too. tongue.gif

You just pull my words right out of my brain.

Well my "1st phase" plan would be turfing my porch with grass , and putting in some hexagonal blocks as paths right to my doorstep. Well uhmm nearly half my porch are cemented. If I have more budget, I would wish to apply wooden flooring to cover it and buy some nice wooden table and chairs and put outside, so I can hang out and sipping my cool coffee.

Would really want to dig a small pond too, but I'm waiting for my thumb to turn green. smile.gif

hi brothers & sisters...

read the entire thread, pretty good discussion...

however, have you tot of placing an underground lawn piping system? ala those grey color 4" pipe and you make a 10 cent holes let's say every 5 inch apart? this solution are for those experiencing flooding lawn condition..

My lawn is having water patches all over after each down pour and I am/or already started ground soil piping work at snail pace however.. DIY style.

I also intend to rigged up and lay down automatic water dispenser, like those Claber or Karcher (its expensive, i know)...

Suggestions, idea & show-how is much appreciated.

I have laying this underground pipe before plant the grass long ago. Just DIY only.

Buy those pvc pipe. Drill alot of hole. Lay few pcs about 10cm below ground and at the end of the pipe toward longkang. Than cover with medium size rock. Than small rock than sand. The rock is made sure the water easy can go in the pipe. So far solve my flooding garden.

You guy can buy the ready made HDPE sub-soil pipe, or use PVC pipe to drill holes/ cut slots, wrap it with Geo-textile, bury under ground about 6", fill the surrounding with coarse sand/ 3/4"agg., pipe to pipe 2' c/c. i'll find some old drawing/ detail to post here tongue.gif

Yup. You need to drill the hole at longkang for the pipe and follow the pipe size. You don't have that drill size. Drill a few small hole according to pipe size and hack the cement till the pipe can fit in.

hello. a bit of a question here. my philippine grass turns out good, with an exception of a few brown patch (more noticable after it's monthly trim) and a more brownish-spot where the sunlight(and rain) don't shine(hit).

Any idea what I can do to get those lushious green grass? Fertilizer? Water?

pearl grass is not suitable for areas that are too hot, and can be grown on sandy + soil conditioner.

link for the reference Soil conditioner + sand

That I noticed too as mine also brown patches are showing.
The other thing I noticed is if the grass is at a more shady place, it'll grow long faster. eg, under the table.
Anyway, how do you trim? Electronic grass cutter or the manual scissor type?

Just get the grass fetilizer, dilute with water and spray it. About few weeks, the brown patch will be grow back with green grass.

Sometime I have this problem too. Even larger patch. Reason unknown.
