now, have to shower the grass every morning and evening, fertilizer, check on pesticide etc.. sad.gif

cow grass is the easiet one to maintenance..

I have about 4000 sf of pearl grass in my garden. They usually grow well under semi-shade, but leaves are longer and bigger for those area with minimal sun. They require a LOT of water to keep them from having 'burned' look. You need extensive daily watering during the dry season. Weeding is needed once a week once the garden is fully covered.

I never tried philipine grass. I was recommended pearl grass by the nursery. Cost me something like RM5 for 1x3 ft 11 years ago. Probably cheaper now.

Not very green as in not very environmentally friendly as lawn needs a lot of water. Better to plant trees and shrubs.. less maintenace

it took me one year to kickoff this project..

u need to clean all the lalang and rumput before laying this new grass..

for soil.. there are few type.. for sand, it will cost u rm1 per pack..i think less then a 5kg per pack..

usually.. if u buy at sungai buloh near RRIM, the price usually at RM2 per 2 sgft.. (2ft x 1ft)

but if u go to sungai buloh hospital area.. some of them selling at RM 1.5-RM1.7 per s sq/ft..

some of them selling one ONE sq ft at price of RM 0.90..

unless u really buy in bulk . u minght get further discount..

transportation required (lorry)..
