Maxis is sometimes kind enough to give SMS vouchers to Hotlink users. But when I went to KFC the other day and showed them the voucher, they told me that the 'system is not ready yet'.

If every involved party hasn't finished rolling out, then why provide coupons?

Online system only keeps for 30 days - same goes to DiGi and Xpax.

Guess you may want to pay visit to Maxis Centre.

Usually when they recycle number, they will wait for years, and that shouldn't be a problem.

They just can block the number from calling you I think. No harm try to ask them. wink.gif

It's possible because I remember my friend who was using postpaid spared me some few ringgit of credit the other time.

I think it's the same as how you transfer credit with the prepaid

SHARE [space] phone number [space] amount and sent to 22121

Example; SHARE 0121234567 10

Is everyone's "call-me-bonus" still receiving the reward points?
Although, I have received alot of calls, I have not receiving any points since 4 weeks ago.

Any problems with hotlink system?

myahsam, you're not the only one is doubting call-me bonus points. Since it has no longer sending notification to SMS, we're also not sure if the points is being credited into our accounts.

webbie# - Thanks to you also. I have read alot of threads posted by you here. Very informative. thumbup.gif

The hotlink staff called me twice just now. I have actually reported 2 hotlink numbers for my case.
According to her one of my hotlink number really having problem. She has helped me to log a report and probably will response to me within 2 days.

I hope they really feedback. sweat.gif

For the other hotlink number, the hotlink staff says, the call-me-bonus has credited every month. Listen carefully, she told me it is credited "every month".

I thought it was every 48 hours??? rclxub.gif

Beware ,there are times when u will not get fully in *100# points redemption,as they advertised.

recently they failed to precess my acceptance to buy credit on reduced price or what they called hotlink gift ,although i got much more than min bal of RM7.5 as requested by them(through sms). From there onwards,i treat such offer as spam vmad.gif

Talking about spam, they warned me of making prank calls to 999 or else they will terminate my line w/o notice!why they are doing this as a kid and not as MNCs is beyond my comprehension .Perhaps it's time to change to DIGI:hmm:

Oops laugh.gif Did you call the customer service and asked them about it? They can't just terminate the line unless it's been an unactive line, canceled line by the user itself or probably the 999 prank call

So far, still haven't receive such great deal. A relatively identical would be get extra 10%, 20% or 30% airtime based on the amount reloaded.

I think I got this on my birthday if I remembered correctly.

I believe reloading bonus points is still ongoing. We're just doubting on call-me bonus points.

ok heres the hint on how to receive such offer from hotlink.do not reload on time.let it expired.bcs hotlink can stand for 3month b4 termination from last valid expiry date.if u a frequent user...i think it wil be hard for you to do this as you need to use often= credit end fast then need reload lor

#carloompunk - we also doubting that for now...lets see who had call their careline and ask. and post the feedback here.

Finally got replied from Hotlink. According from them, my call-me-bonus reward points really got problem vmad.gif . Now, they promised will credit back to my account on 20th June.

Will definitely make complain to them if I do not receive my reward points on that day! mad.gif

Hi SiuYi,
Talk 3mins only earn 1 point
60mins divide 3mins = 20 points

20 points equivalent to RM0.20.

We are not gain much bonus actually... doh.gif

I heard from the Hotlink Staff, reward points will only update once every month. If you dont, just like my case, then something is not right with your account. You can call them and explain what you are encountering.

In fact, Call-Me-Bonus does not really rewards much.

122 is still available. No problem with that and I just tried it.

Seldom use 122 as I prefer to use short codes even when performing a reload.

guys, i have an inquiry here
at sungai long there is this particular stall promoting maxis postpaid for student who claim that we only have to pay rm38 monthly fee (if make call for more than rm38, just pay additional call cost), with 15cent/min call charge, and they said we can enjoy Activ10 promo too. sound like too good to be true, and there is no such thing on maxis website. so wanna get advice from u guys here, whether is it a scam or not?

yesterday i topup my hotlink online rm10 using cimbclicks...transaction succsesful according to cimbclicks and my account deducted rm10...

but i never receive it the credit... so how aa ?? it has been 24 hours since...

the reason i topup online is to save time/money (petrol hike up already) so i didnt have to physically go to buy topup card...

i called maxis, they said their system and my number have no problem... they ask to comfirm with bank.....i called bank they said transaction was susccesfull...

so now i'm on the brink to call back maxis.... where the hell of my rm10....

but this is really shit.... my intention topup online to save money/time...instead i must call them and waste my money/time further...

they(maxis & cimb) should put specific personnel just to settle on this issue.... why la hotlink customer service must pay one...

well, there are free things. quite often too, sometimes it says buy RM10 airtime with RM5. Then i just replied, they cut my RM5, then pay me RM10, free la tu........

and one thing i wanna ask, activ10 no extra charges right? and nothing changes right? but that day hor, seriously, i called my best fren (which very long time ago i set her), for 26 minutes, then my account lost RM10+-, then i tried again, it back to normal. I wonder how the thingy works, sleep.gif

Yes sir, will definitely go for it smile.gif
By the way, how they give away the 300 sms? what if I sent sms to Active 10 ppl in my list?
Will they deduct from my 300 free sms? How about to other operators? Or free for maxis numbers only?

It's always limited to maxis to maxis my dear, they will still charge you 15 cents for other operators. They will credit the free sms to your balance la, you can check them when type *122#. and yes, they will deduct the free sms as well even you are sending sms to the activ10. These are terms and conditions, which are terms and cons. just as usual as always wink.gif

Just want to update.

For those people who has Family Plus supplementary lines (RM50 per month per line), can now opt to change to new Family Plus plan RM30 per month, with no extra charge. In the new Family plus RM30, free calls between family lines limited to 15 hours a month, and 1500 sms a month. (compared to 20 hours a month and 2000 sms under family plus RM50).

maxis rocks.

Call up CS and screw them up. You got the 'serial number' so don't worry. They said selected customer, then you again screw them up for bothering you sending such sms.

Pretty sure they will apologize and do something for you wink.gif

The same when you call to Happy CS.

Yeah, but use house phone, they can't generate revenue as much as Happy. Although Happy per call is RM2 fixed

(compared to 20 hours a month and 2000 sms under family plus RM50).

maxis rocks.

wow.. thats nice.. so what is the total cost for 2 persons to use this plan?

you can opt for the lowest, get a VP 50 (RM50) and supplementary family plus 30 (RM30).

Total will be RM80 + 5% tax.

Hi guyz, I received this message during noon.

"Nes! MESSAGE PLUS from Hotlink allows you to block spam & unwanted sms from unfamiliar Hotlink numbers. To subscribe, send REG to 21000, Only RM1/month."

Is this spam or real message from Hotlink?
Do you guyz receive the same message too?

In order for me to get that 30%, I need to reload RM100? I wouldn't want to. They have lots of other better plan. Like pay RM5 for RM10 and so on. Which is actually 50% return. wink.gif

I just called up 123 and gave all the 10 numbers to the customer care consultant. After some personal ID verification, she just did that for me.

Do this if you are not very comfortable using the *100# menu.

statistic not accurate.

*125# shows exactly how much u spend a day.

Like now i only spend 0.09 cents.

Phone statistic only show time or duration of your call.

200 points could redeem for:

RM 2 airtime since 100 points = RM 1
100 SMSes since 100 points == 50 SMSes

Welcome to today. Today you can the yesterday you are still living in cannot.
It depends if you are doing legit business what's the harm? For example you are selling a number for the cost for two person to meet up @ maxis centre it not worth to even sell it especially outstation.

Learn to cross out stated for changing (number) ownership. Ive done that a few times if you are afraid then a simple solution dont sell.

It is just some technical problem.

1st time I see people hate Hotlink for rewarding them laugh.gif
Come on, they reward you, which is good!
But still, there are plenty more of different type of rewarding.

1.If buy new then only got Hotlink Plan. Now no more Easy Plan. Talk,Sms and Total are those old user that don't want to switch to hotlink plan.

2.All Plan

3.To activate,i think just call any number will activate it.

I believe it requires 24 hours to be processed and therefore, I think they'll send you an notification that the free SMSes have been credited to your account.

maxis voice, data and signal strength are crap compare to DiGi. Nowadays the sim card inside the starter pack are the crappy cheapo 16k sim card. Which make your phone need more time to initialize. and in Malacca THERE ONLY ONE PLACE TO GET REPLACEMENT CARD if your cheapo 16k sim card is unusable. and they only work 9 to 5 while u also need to work that time. I guess is Time to change.

Wait... you said the Maxis SIM is a 16k card??? DiGi is already using a 64k card man... What is this?

However in terms of startup time, it's not really a problem for me probably it's because I am already used to the slow startup time sweat.gif

Last time I called them, they will know my number instantly and they know me by my name. (guess it appeared on their system). Also, when I disputed my bills, they were very fast in apologizing for their mistake and gave rebate appropriately. They also seemed to know their stuff well and their billing system well.

I recently downgraded my family plus plan from FP50 to FP 30, and they left out the 'CLIP' , sms and call waiting service. Had to call them more than 10 times in THREE days to get the services activated.

I guess maxis is cutting down on quality to get more quantity?

me too. Called them to complain but the customer service people did not understand my question... give up. Maxis postpaid sucks nowadays.

If digi comes up with 3G and there is number portability, I will switch over to Digi.

You can just simply browse through the last few page. You can see those reward only for those who don't reload a long time.

They do reward for heavy users too, just that you need to pay more to get the rewards. Like reload RM100 to get RM30 credit free.

Dear Hotlink members,

From 7 July 2008 onwards, please be informed that every RM30 top up or more no longer entitles you to a free switch between Talk & SMS Plan. RM5 will be charged every time you switch between these 2 plans but top up RM30 or more to still enjoy the 36sen/min instant low flat rate!

Regards,
Hotlink team.

Since when they are not money minded? They are getting 'rude' to customer since I read the minimum RM30 topup to get the points.

Hmm I received this message from Hotlink this morning. Starting on the 1st of August, Extra Points will be earned on min RM30 monthly top up and will be credited by the 5th of the following month.

So it's like RM 1 we will earn 2.5 points compared to the RM 1 = 1 point as of now.

As for the points right, they should like credit it immediately rather than waiting for the next month. What are they thinking now? We are trying to sweep away and leech all the good deals from them meh?

Now, they're doing this to reward bonus as well.

It's all marketing strategy.Telco invested billions of ringgit in setting up their infrastructure and they need to get back their investments.

Call me back bonus, reward bonus, supersavers are all just ruse to gain market share. It's quite obvious that Maxis wants to rip at least RM30 /month from each customer, maybe this is the margin to break even.

I have a question. Sorry if this has been asked many times.
My gf and I sms quite alot. At this moment, both of us are using prepaid. I plan to get a new hp for both of us which have a 3g function.
So, i want to change to postpaid with supp line. But i'm very confuse which one should get.
After changing hp, i will make a lot of video and voice calls to her. Is there any limit for main and supp line? Like Celcom there is no limit at all. Seen my frens call his gf from full bar until the hp is kong sweat.gif
They are on 3+1 plan. Any similar package from Maxis?
Thx in advance.

for principal u can choose between v50, v80 or v150 while for supplementary line (family plus plan) minimum commitment is rm30, both commitment is shared between principal and supplement line..

for example, if the principal uses v50 and have 1 supplement line rm30, so total commitment rm80 is shared among the two, either 1 of them can use up all rm80 or principal 30 supplement 50 etc.. smile.gif

Okay. I will try my best to answer you, but I can't give you a correct answer.
IINM, the main number that you converting will be charge RM0.10 per minute, and you will be charge for receiving call too. How much I can't really remember.

For this, you better call up CS to verify.

For prepaid, you can use the 'call divert' features straight away.
For postpaid, I am not sure

Confirm will be charge on both side.
IMO, better not to use it unless it is important. For me it is not worth using the features.

I did a test, I configured my phone to "divert all calls when not available" to my B number, then I switch to that B number on the same phone. Indeed, all calls to the A number were forwarded to B number. Then I checked nemerous times and credit balance still the same, after some time, I re-checked, the credit was lower, - RM0.39 estimated. But I am not sure how they deduct the balance based on the number of divert calls or the amount of time used to do diverting. Look for the information at Hotlink does not seem to help much. sweat.gif

The Websphere they use on Hotlink portal seems to be quite slow. Sometimes, you may get a message stated "There is no content available.
Please check if there is content defined for the markup of your client device.", if you use Opera to view Hotlink portal. It think you are using some "special device". So cannot deliver the contents you need. laugh.gif

yup, but you have to add rm8 more into ur account, so basically if you apply value50 and want that extra10, you need to add rm8 for that. rate is 8sen/min call and 1 sen/sms between those 10 person...

Yesterday i saw they open a maxis postpaid package when you subscribe v50 and you will get redeem every month( for 5 months only ) rm 20, if your bill is rm60, you will only need to pay rm 40 only, and the call rate is 15cent per min for maxis to maxis and 20 cent per min from maxis to other telco.i ask them i have use the prepaid for about 6 years and they told me that is free to change to postpaid plan, and i ask them can i change it back to prepaid plain if i not very happy with postpaid and they said can..its sure can because i afraid if i change it and not very happy bout it, when i want to change they will not let me do it...sad.gif

can anyone clarify this..? thx..smile.gif notworthy.gif

prepaid ----> postpaid = FOC

postpaid ---> prepaid = RM30 and u need to subscribe postpaid for at least 6 months.

this is what i find out with KLCC maxis CS long time ago, not sure if the rules still applicable.

i have asked the promoter at maxis dealer in 1utama, she said that we can downgrade to prepaid but it is not advisable because after 3 round turn, that means change to postpaid n revert to prepaid again n again, u'll lose ur number, so that means it is allowed, but so far i never met people who really downgrade to prepaid..

besides, i just upgraded to postpaid yesterday smile.gif , now all maxis number is my active10, calling at 15cent tongue.gif ..

i and my friend apply for v50 and family plus30, total commitment rm80/month is shared, minus rebate rm20/month so our monthly commitment is only rm60, if divided equally each person have to pay only rm30/month rclxms.gif (for the first 5months only tongue.gif )

today i just call maxis service center and ask them bout my line, they told me they don't receive any information bout me changing into another line, so means that they still don't send my application to maxis service center.

Seems i got cheat by them bout my line will be change to postpaid in 1 day, i so disappointed with what they told me especially when they told me that i can change it into prepaid anytime i want without fee but unfortunately i have to wait for 6 month and need to pay rm30 for change fee, WTh lerrr..i got cheat by them, wasting my time going to carefour and change the line, better for me to go to maxis center and can change it on the spot....

oh i hate when they do like that to me..zzzzzzzzzzzz

Wow i understand yr situation la but normaly for prepaid to postpaid it takes max just 1 hour if they really wanna do it and if for new number request it takes not more than 1 day la..next time go to maxis stores not those authoirse dealer or agents.Next time u wanna do look for me la ill help u to do it with in 1 day biggrin.gif cheers bro.. cheers.gif and if they still dont activate yr number just go back return the sim card la cause dealers are hopeless they only care about their commision after 3 months..

agree... they do take more than a day or to to activate the sim.
most MASA have limited systems to activate the sim to the network.
some more, they oso need to submit the forms oso....

n another thing worth noticing is, most MASA agents dont care if their customers are blacklisted or not. they dont even bother checking their customer credit status.
as long as they had pay their deposits for the sim n account.

activation failure may be due to blacklisted status as well.

today i just call maxis service center and ask them bout my line, they told me they don't receive any information bout me changing into another line, so means that they still don't send my application to maxis service center.

Maxis upbeat on new prepaid plan

KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis Communications Bhd hopes to enlarge its prepaid customer base of eight million with its new Hotlink 365 plan that offers prepaid validity of 365 days.

Head of consumer marketing (consumer business) Tan Lay Han said customers could now enjoy uninterrupted service over a year and there was no need to keep track of validity.

“Hotlink 365 gives customers the flexibility to make and receive calls within the period and have full control of airtime credits,” he said after the launch of the new service yesterday.

With a nominal yearly fee of RM33, customers can now keep their line active for the year. However, customers need to top up RM30 within the first six months of signing up.

The new service is also available to Hotlink's existing customers, Tan said, adding that same rates of existing prepaid plan applied to Hotlink 365.

Based on feedback from prepaid users, Hotlink came up with Hotlink 365 to cater to a segment of users that had low usage but wished to retain its mobile number, Tan said, noting that it had the lowest churn rates among the telecommunications service providers.

The new service will also cater to Hotlink's segment of migrant workers of at least three million users.

Maxis currently holds 41.7% share in the local telecommunications market with a customer base of 10 million, of which 80% are prepaid users.

On maintaining its market share after the mobile number portability kicked in, Tan said Maxis would continue to innovate its products to differentiate itself from its competitors.

FAQ (Peninsular Malaysia Version)

1. What is Hotlink 365?

Hotlink 365 is Malaysia’s first one-year active prepaid plan. For 365 validity days (one year) you won’t have to top up your account to maintain an active mobile phone line. You can SMS and make outgoing calls simply by topping up your airtime credits when you desire within this time period.

2. What does Hotlink 365 offer compared to Hotlink Plan?

Upon subscribing to Hotlink 365, you will enjoy 365 validity days instead of the standard validity days you receive from each top up made on Hotlink Plan (e.g. top up RM10 and only get 10 validity days).

3. How do I subscribe to Hotlink 365? How much will I be charged?

For new customers:
Activate a new Hotlink starter pack
Top up to ensure a minimum credit of RM33 is in your account
Dial *108*6#

Existing customers:
Top up to ensure a minimum credit of RM33 is in your account
Dial *108*6#

Note: For existing customers, please ensure that your account is active

Once your subscription is successful, a non-returnable subscription fee of RM33 will be deducted from your account.

4. If I subscribe to Hotlink 365, what will be my call and SMS rates?

Hotlink 365 gives you the best call and SMS rates similar to our current best rate plan, which is Hotlink Plan.
Call rates
Normal With RM30 top up or more
(valid for 30days) SMS Rates
Activ10 15sen/min 15sen/min 1sen/SMS
Hotlink to same network 39sen/min 36sen/min 7sen/SMS
Hotlink to different network 49sen/min 36sen/min 15sen/SMS

5. I’m an existing Hotlink customer. If I subscribe to Hotlink 365, will I maintain my promotional free talktime/SMS/points from my current plan?

Yes. You will maintain your promotional free talktime/SMS/points from your previous plan.

6. I’ve subscribed to Hotlink 365. But after using it for 3 months, I want to switch back to my old plan or to another plan. Can I do so?

No. You cannot migrate to any other plans until your Hotlink 365 expires. Your Hotlink 365 will only expire for the following reasons:

a) Failure to fulfill the accumulated top up condition of RM30 in the first six months of the subscription
b) Failure to renew your Hotlink 365 when the 365 validity days are over.

Note: You’ll be auto-switched to Hotlink Plan when your Hotlink 365 subscription expires.

CONDITIONS

1. Is there a condition I need to meet during my subscription to Hotlink 365?

Yes. You will need to accumulate top up of RM30 or more in the first six months of your 365 validity days. (e.g. a minimum of RM5 x 6 months or RM10 x 3 months).

2. I’ve subscribed to Hotlink 365. But I did not accumulate RM30 or more top up credits in the first six months of my 365 validity days. What will happen?

If you did not fulfill the condition by Day 180, your Hotlink 365 subscription (and the remaining 180 validity days) will expire immediately. After that, you will be auto-switched to Hotlink Plan. You will then have to top up to earn your validity days (e.g. top up RM10 and get 10 validity days). You can subscribe to Hotlink 365 again by just dialing *108*6# and paying the RM33 annual fee.

RENEWAL

1. My 365 validity days are expiring soon. How can I renew it? How much will I be charged?

You will receive a renewal invitation SMS 30 days before your plan’s expiry date. Just follow the instruction to renew. Once the renewal is successful, RM33 will be deducted from your account.

2. What happens if I don’t renew the plan?

You will be auto-switched to Hotlink Plan. You will now have to top up to earn your validity days (e.g. top up RM10 and get 10 validity days). You can always subscribe to Hotlink 365 again by just dialing *108*6# and paying the RM33 annual fee.

1st. Pay Rm33 a total loss, not an airtime.
2nd. Must reload RM30 within the 1st 6 months. [ "after tht can enjoy ZERO reload for the remaining 6 months. " my personal opinion dun know correct o not. ]

the catch is, once u failed to renew ur 365days plan, u have to re-subscribe again n again pay RM33 again.

hope my summary is correct. if anything wrong, pls advise.
