hi there, kinda noob in this jailbreak thing..theres some stuff that i wanna double double confirm b4 attempting to jb my ipod (so that i wont get into unwanted trouble and regret jb-ing my device later)
so lets say i jb-ed by itouch 2nd gen, will the currently installed apps on my itouch be deleted? secondly, after jb, i could still purchase and install apps from itunes just like b4 i jb-ed? if something went wrong during the jb process, will it somehow brick the itouch? is an app that allows the itouch to view diff kinds of video formats (avi,mkv..) in cydia? is there an app that allows itouch to view flash based websites in cydia? pls help and thanks all |

1. backup your files, then after jb, sync it back to your ipod.
2. Yes, you can still install itunes apps 3. Brick usually happens in tethered jb. Even if it bricks, dont panic(although i was, lol), connect to computer, and put it in dfu again. Still cant? Unplug the usb, connect again and dfu again. For 4th and 5th questions, ask david in cydia thread in iphone section, he know this better |

Q4: is an app that allows the itouch to view diff kinds of video formats (avi,mkv..) in cydia? vlc4iphone, dTunes, mplayer. Q5: is there an app that allows itouch to view flash based websites in cydia? There's no flash support for iPhone yet but there will be soon. bryanyeo, now using QuickFreedom 2.1, i'll be able to mess around with boot logo's easily right? Or would it like create a new custom ipsw file to be restored using iTunes? That wouldn't be too cool

I have succesfully jb.
Still very new to everything. Installed Mplayer with the intention to play .avi files. What's the fastest was to place files under /private/var/mobile/Media/ ? I have tried ssh via wifi but its taking too long. |

i've read about redtool.seems like it can change boot logo without re-jb.does that means it serve the same purpose as quickfreedom 1.2?

QUOTE(bryanyeo @ Mar 29 2009, 09:28 PM) The "view boot logo in recovery" feature in RedTool is pretty sweet. It actually allows you to preview your boot logo on your unit (in recovery mode), before a NOR restore (or whatever lol). I hope QuickFreedom is just as good |
