Hey, just a small question here. If i jailbreak my iPod Touch using the "tethered method", would it boot back to to original firmware when i reboot it, or would i have to restore the original firmware back to normal before rebooting it?

Oh, and if i run the clickboot back again, my iPod would be jailbroken back again?
Also, if i wish to install the original firmware back again, all i would need to do is to boot my iPod into DFU mode, connect it to iTunes, and restore my firmware?

QUOTE(bryanyeo @ Feb 18 2009, 06:28 PM) Yes, connect to itunes, create backup, off it, make it into DFU mode, then restore to the original firmware. Alright, that's cool then. Thanks mate

Hey bryanyeo, I haven't jailbroken my iPod Touch yet, but i certainly want to do so once a non-tethered method is out. Now, would it be ok for me to update my firmware to 2.2.1? If i do so, would the chances of my iPod being jailbroken in the future (with 2.2.1 firmware) be low?

Bryanyeo, apart from using VMware, are there any other methods to jailbreak my iPod Touch 2G on my Mac? (Tiger btw).

QUOTE(bryanyeo @ Mar 12 2009, 10:39 PM) Mac GUI still need some time. You are advised to find a Windows Machines because the mac jailbreak tutorial is really too long. Ah ok, i'll try to work on it on Windows. Yea, the Mac Jailbreak is REALLY long.. lol

Hmm bryanyeo, just checked ipodtouchfans forum's, and i saw many mixed feedback about the Mac GUI. You reckon' i should try, or wait for something more stable. I don't want to cook up my iPod Touch after like a month or so lol

Hmm bryanyeo, got a question mate. I don't really think a stable version of the Mac gui will be out anytime soon, so i think i should just do it on Windows. Here's what i'm not entirely sure about. Would i need iTunes in order to JailBreak my iPod Touch on Windows? (Apart from restoring it as i would be able to do it on my Mac). Thanks mate. Yea, the 3.0 OS news is great

Alright, thanks for explaining that mate Yea, i would love too, but my dad wouldn't be too happy if i download this and that on his computer now would he? I guess i would just jailbreak my iPod on his computer, and then do the rest on my Mac. Thanks again

Hey bryanyeo, i've decided to just perform the jailbreaking process on my Windows machine using QuickFreedom as it seems much easier and quicker compared to the Mac process of it. I however, have some doubts on it. Once i run QuickFreedom, and generate the custom firmware ipsw file, would it be alright for me to just copy that file from my Windows machine to my Mac, and then use the browse function on the iTunes(Mac) to select it from it's directory? Also, if i choose a custom bootlogo in QuickFreedom, would i be able to change it back to the default one or a different one once i'm pretty much bored with it? By the way, here's the guide i was looking at earlier : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b35Rh7sxhw&feature=relatedPretty clear if you ask me
