My HDD temperature increased a little after the firmware update, roughly around 2C to 3C. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I don't think so, there has been like at least 3 revision of the same firmware with the code 'SD1A'.

the thing is the latest one posted currently (i.e. this week) is supposedly the right one. all previous ones doesnt work or doesnt fix the problem right?
so even if the drive is loaded with SD1A previously (later than last week), need to patch to this weeks SD1A or not?

There are more firmware available at http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/self...sp?DocId=207957 - now for smaller drives.

Flashed my 320GB Seagate with the new firmware, from SD22 to SD2A.

It was almost completely silent before I update it's firmware. Now this hard disk is louder when it reads or write. You probably didn't notice it cause your casing is further. I put my casing on the table next to the monitor.
