QUOTE(one_guy @ Jan 19 2009, 10:09 PM) I just realize just now... Sorry if this repeated post.. I thought the earlier forumer get their firmware through email... BTW, how many people already success with this firmware? If the update fail, does the data inside the disk also corrupt? When I updated it, no data was lost (I have already backed up my data). Rebooted after the failure and the drive is still there, with the contents intact. Now waiting for the Seagate 320GB firmware to be available. Does anyone know if Seagate 320GB with SD22 firmware is affected? The Seagate link gives me a blank page for that.

QUOTE(RacingTech @ Jan 22 2009, 03:03 PM) is this same with the second version? i already flashed mine n it succeed. do i need to reflash to this latest version? The second version works with 1TB drives but will brick 500GB drives. Probably no need to flash yours.

QUOTE(anonymous111 @ Jan 22 2009, 03:26 PM) i also waiting for this, but in between , under wat situation that need to update the firmware? for mine, it was unable detect in bios, hope the firmware would solved If the HDD cannot be detected by BIOS, you need to RMA it. Only those that BIOS can detect can be flashed. QUOTE(ycs @ Jan 22 2009, 03:31 PM) How long to update the firmware? Is it you boot from the cd? You need to boot from CD, and takes a minute or so to flash. This post has been edited by asellus: Jan 22 2009, 03:36 PM

QUOTE(cyew86 @ Jan 22 2009, 05:48 PM) yup i know the forummers in seagate forum managed to update successfully, but is this firmware a fix for the SD15 issue or just to unbrick the HDD from the unsuccessful firmware flash of the previous SD1A? Seagate did not officially state that this is a fix for SD15, even the previous SD1A was said not really a fix for SD15 issue That is a fix for both, will unbrick the failed SD1A and also fix the SD15 problem.

There are more firmware available at http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/self...sp?DocId=207957 - now for smaller drives. Flashed my 320GB Seagate with the new firmware, from SD22 to SD2A. Before:- After:- Now all of my Seagate drives has been fixed.
