Updated to new firmware. SD1A. Will still get Seagate for its ease of warranty, not all line is not 5 years, hehe

first time flashing my HDD, very nervous and shaking waiting for the results, lol!

lets hope this revised firmware works fine. anyway, thanks to all for your guidance and flashing tutorial, especially for this thread founder. peace!

-Just updated my ST1000340AS! After connecting to PC only realized that the actual firmware is SD15, not SD35 as printed on the drive. And the latest firmware updater also will update all drives, no matter retail or OEM, any part numbers (-300, -303, -568, etc.) - as stated on the updater screen.

-Hmm, I noticed after the firmware updated, my BIOS auto-detect the ST1000340AS using CHS now, not LBA like before (during POST splash screen).
Anybody could confirm this?

Ima noob that do not know much about updating a HDD. Unfortunately I bought 1 ST3500320AS 500GB from CYCOM....So far I haven't faced any problems..So do I need to update the firmware? If I need to,can anyone please do teach me how do I update my HDD firmware step-by-step?
