Shiho is the codename of the upcoming Cyber-shot flagship model from Sony Ericsson, and we’ve got everything about it! Its final name will be C905, and it’ll be announced along with some phones on the 17th of this month. In this post we’ll announce it for Sony Ericsson, and save them the trouble, plus give the competitors a little something to wee their pants about.

The C905 is the latest camera offering from Sony Ericsson featuring a fully spec’d 8.1 mega pixel camera with auto focus, face recognition, a new feature called Smart Contrast, image stabilization, BestPic, red-eye reduction, xenon flash as well as photoflash for both photos and videos. It’s got a video stabilizer feature as well. You can geo-tag your photos with the built-in GPS with further support for A-GPS, and the large camera resolution makes it possible to do prints in up to A3 sizes! Your photos will automatically flip to landscape mode, when you tilt your phone, as it’s got a built-in accelerometer. You’ll be able to watch your photos on a beautiful 2.4 inch QVGA-resolution scratch-resistant mineral glass TFT display. Feel like sharing your photos on a TV-set? That’s possible as well with the TV-Out Cable ITC-60, also to be announced on the 17th.

That’s not all, though… C905 will be the first feature phone by Sony Ericsson to sport built-in WiFi with DLNA-support, so all media in your home can be shared. It’s also got the latest in Bluetooth connections, supports USB 2.0 data transfers, and can be synchronized with Exchange ActiveSync.

The Sony Ericsson C905 measures 104 x 49 x 18 (19.5) millimetres, and weighs a massive 136 grams. It’ll be available in Copper Gold, Ice Silver & Night Black in early Q4, with a bundled 2 GB Memory Stick Micro M2. It comes in three variants, two with full support for UMTS and HSDPA in the certain regions (even America). The battery is good for 380 hours of standby or 9 hours of talk on GSM networks, or 360 hours of standby or 4 hours of talk on 3G networks.

booster: would suggest you to wait first for price to drop, cause ori set just released for not long, price of AP still VERY unconsistent....most of the sellers still haven't drop their AP price, waiting for water fishes to come...

If price were to drop, should be around 1.5xx, IMO

Well, I personally think it all depends on you. If you want to have a slightly better camera and the elegant slide design, then you should go for C905.

Honestly, 5800's features (touch screen, etc.) is pretty cool and tempting for the price tag it's holding. Quite worth it I should say =/

At the end of the day, it's all up 2 u bro biggrin.gif

For me, been using it for 1 month+, liking it every moment, still not bored of it yet biggrin.gif

i'm still quite frustrated about the uncertainty of the prize of C905, why dont Midlands confirmed it or advertise the phone on newspaper with specs and retail price just like 5800

For me, I would only say that both phones are from different category so it depends on the individual's needs in a phone. However, the price of the c905 is still quite high at the moment so not everyone can afford it while the 5800 is more towards the affordable side.

Wayfinder uses 3G connection to download maps and uses A-GPS when the GPS signal is lost or weak. This is I think it does.

You can use the Wayfinder Mapupload to download the map using your PC to the C905 without using the 3G connection. Total 55MB for whole of Malaysia map.

Been trying out today. Less than a day the battery went flat sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif But very accurate.

Also it have the same symptoms as Astro when raining.

The memory card must really have high read/write speeds, same goes to the hardware that will be using it.

Something like garmin with the turn-by-turn navigation. Yes you do need to download the map but you can download the map using your PC and upload the C905's memory.

Guys.. Im getting a new phone soon.. C905 is quite tempting with 8.1mp..
But now im already using a k850i.. So my questions are -

C905's xenon flash - is it brighter than k850i..? Cos the one on the k850I sucks.. Not even bright..

How about the speaker..? Different than C902..? Cos the speaker on the C902 is so nice.. My sis is using it and i love it.. Not loving the phone though..

Thanks btw.. smile.gif

I bought mine during PC Fair for RM150. The 8GB was used for my PSP with the MSPD adapter.

You should check out the prices in All IT Hypermart. They are crazy with the prices. Sometimes they will sell very cheap for no reasons laugh.gif

mine's ok. using maxis as well.

btw, for the trekbuddy, unzip all the files. then upload the contents of 'untar version' folder into trekbuddy/maps/ then open up the app. Press the middle button > Options > Load Atlas and load the file named "A_klang_valley_gm.tba"

Then u choose which "layer" you want. if im not mistaken, layers are the zoom. This opens up the offline maps.

More later, am still testing it out.

Wayfinder Navigator:
Turn off A-GPS
Go to http://www.wayfinder.com/?id=10786&lang=en-UK to download the Wayfinder MapLoader to download the maps to your phone using your PC to your C905

This will ease abit on the 3G connections downloading the maps but don't know why it still connect using 3G when there is not GPS signal when navigating.

I found TrekBuddy also same thing. I think better get a Garmin Nuvi.

Better get a dedicated GPS device than the GPS from C905. Unless you got unlimited data plan with your provider and also you will need buy subscriptions for Wayfinder Navigator for the turn-by-turn navigation. The google map is ok only.

Still looking for good open source\freeware GPS navigator.

Hes a mobilephone seller, seen him selling a few mobilephones before.. its brand new.. not 2nd-hand.. unsure.gif

Well, it seems that seller updated liaoz.. included SE handphone strap and SE USB M2 Adapter.. esp. blurjoey told him abt it.. heh tongue.gif

Not sure whether hes a reliable seller tho... and i gotta say.. dam attractive leh.. his price.. lol... for that price, the extra cash can get a big memorycard liaoz.. heheh wink.gif

As he just sold X1 for just rm1999... dam cheap sia.. even tho its APset... original price its like rm3+ rite?.. sweat.gif

Just check around his threads.. i just noticed that he sells quite alot phones... funny that he create one thread for one model of mobilephone.. instead of list all the models out..

Cheers blush.gif

Count me in as a new owner of the C905! I bought it yesterday in Singapore from one of their original vendors. The total came to RM2,100, due to the fact that I bought a 4GB memory card, a screen protector, an extra battery, and a desktop charger. Mine's the black one, by the way.

I haven't used it extensively yet, but so far from what I've used it for (messaging and adding contacts), it's quite a joy to use. It feels sturdy and durable.

But alas, sending animations in messages does indeed make the resulting message an MMS. doh.gif

Don't have warranty card, how to go SE center to claim warranty? I go the SE center more than 5 times and each time they requested the warranty card.

I'm scared those sets he is selling might be smuggled out/stolen sets from Midland.

I think even if Midland gave him as special incentives, will also give him the warranty card. Any distributors would not be that irresponsible.

yup, Ericserve at PJ insist must present our warranty card before sending in for servicing. (they even placed a note on their table top, so that they dun have to repeat themselves for 9654789 times, lol)

his words abit contradicting la.
he said he sell 5 sets to his so called VVIP at 1680.
why he wants to sell to me (which is his 1st time customer) at 1499 ONLY.

Just imagine when you bring the C905 to SE center for warranty. And this happens!

"Sorry sir but your C905 with IMEI #1234567890 have been reported as stolen goods from the distributor. We would need to handover the phone to the police for investigations" shocking.gif shocking.gif shocking.gif

I'm pretty sure even if it's given as incentive, 100% there will be warranty cards. I've got too many stuff as incentive/prizes etc, all have warranty cards 1 =.=

ive practically decided on the C905.... just waiting for the pink model to come out....

then go buy 1 pink for my gf and 1 black for me....but the pink is taking ridiculously long to come out....

i really wish SE would just release all colors at 1 go honestly instead of abit here...abit there... it gets really frustrating just waiting for a specific color doh.gif

This will depend on the individual on how they take care of their phones. Very hard to tell.

I can say is that my silver C905 haven't got any scratches on it.

The black will get scratch cause it's not made of rubber. It just feels like rubber. It's still the normal plastic like the silver.

Hmm nixon, no offense, why not test it out at a shop??

To answer your questions: I've been using my silver C905, for months...still no prob, no scratch even I drop flat on group, no nothing.... Sound is loud, but ofcourse, if you were to bombard the speaker, sound wont be nice...

It's always wiser to test it out at a shop rather than shooting 1 question by 1 question, or ask 1 shot lor swt..Cos i think different ppl have different opinions, and you will be the 1 using it in the future, therefore your own preference is the best, rather than ppls POV

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=911391&hl=c905

but i wondering is it trustable or not. He told me the warranty card is inside, i can submit it myself. So any idea? Should i buy it from him? or rather go to the shop? quite huge different! If buying from him, how do i check if it is a reckon or not? Real ORI or not?

- The C905 on the warranty card is stamped on not handwritten
- Midland/Thorus sticker on the handset & battery
- Sirim sticker on the handset (near the Midland/Thorus sticker)
- Check the production week on the handset should be at least 08w51 to 08w53 on the handset. Anything below is not original? This is on the sticker on the handset and battery. For battery is 08w48?
- Check the original accessories: SE handsfree (anyone got the model), SE handphone strap, 2GB Sandisk M2, SE M2 USB adapter, CDs and manuals.
- Match the IMEI # on the phone with the IMEI # on the box.

Ultra is the premium brand and with faster speed.

Normal is the normal brand and with slower speed than ultra.

8GB is more than enough for use with the C905 unless you put movies in it then you need the 16GB

Actually don't know can support or not as 16GB M2 was just recently released by Sandisk.

If I remember correctly, 8GB M2 is the limit for C905?

Low Yat Plaza is the best place to search for that price. Level 2 and above.

Heard the 4th & 5th day of CNY they are open but will be pack as everyone got angpau money to buy things.

Most likely the limit is only at 8GB and even if it does support 16GB, it will lag badly when it is almost full.

It isn't practical to use 16GB for a phone's memory card. Even if you have a lot of files to load into it, you will surely experience a serious lag when you enter your file manager.

I think you better off asking those international forums whether anyone is using the 16GB M2 for their C905. You already asked and know its just released and expensive here. So I don't think anyone here would have got it now to test with their C905. Maybe after CNY when they have their angpau money.

I dont think that mobile phones are advanced enough that you can actually tell the difference between a LAME encoded 192k mp3 and FLAC unsure.gif

I'm not using this plastic cover since I discovered my old W910 get lose after I used it just in a week. My friend's phone the first xpress music phone (the slide one, cant remember the code name) get the slider lose in just a day!! All happened because of the cover. The clip of the cover will grip your slide and it will give a HUEG gap... seriously, I'm not joking...If you want your slide phone last longer, don't use it...

I finally caved in and got myself an Original Night Black unit! rclxm9.gif

It's charging as I'm typing this but my initial trial with it is pretty impressive.

I'm not the type of user the changes phones everytime a new model comes out. My last phone as the iPhone which was an impulse buy. Before that was a K800i which I bought because my phone at that time (NOKIA 6610) was starting to fail me after more than 4 years of using it.

I'll split up my experience into categories, and of course, compare with phones that I currently own and have tried out.

The following phones are models which I bought/tested recently within the last 2 - 3 years or so:

a) APPLE iPhone 2G (16 GB) - using
b) SE K800i - using
c) NOKIA N85 - using
d) NOKIA 5800 - tested

BUILD

The C905 feels really solid. It doesn't feel too heavy to me (my iPhone's pretty heavy as well) and I like the design of the phone. Some gaps between the slider (top - screen) and the phone (bottom - keypad) but I'm told that its pretty normal.

It feels solid in my hands, and the feel is a little rubbery - like the SE K800i.

USER EXPERIENCE

I was expecting a SE K800-ish experience but I was really surprised at how fast the phone is. I kind of get the feeling that the K800i seems to lag a little now if compared to this.

The N85 seems to lags a little too.

I also bought a Nokia N85 before getting this C905, and I find the buttons on the N85 a little stiff. I've also tested out the new Nokia 5800 (Tube) and I find the touch screen a little lacking. Maybe I've been spoilt by my 16GB 2G APPLE iPhone.

I've never actually tried other touchscreen phones (bad experience with SAMSUNG), never really checked out HTC as well.

Comparing my iPhone and the Tube, nothing beats the iPhone touchscreen experience IMO. Surfing the web on Safari is awesome as well.

The only 2 little complaints I have about the SE C905 are:
a) the placement of the Fast port for charger/headphones
b) the battery cover is pretty hard to remove

Now - you might ask why I need so many phones, and the truth is, in my line of work, I find that having 2 phones is beneficial.

I think I'll use my iPhone as my multimedia device now, and this C905 as my primary phone + camera. Maybe I'll take some photos tomorrow in the day time, when there's more light.

Haven't fully tested out all the functions yet, but I'm very, very, very happy with my purchase thumbup.gif

firstly...they take pics of food because it's close range and usually it's in a well lighted place. so almost all cameraphones look nice because it's close range.

2nd. they take pics of food because it doesn't have squares, or fixed shapes, or visible lines so it will be easy to make even a bad cameraphone look good at those kind of pics.

3rd. colour wise foods does not have a fixed colour, so it will also be easier to fool people that the food's colour looks as it supposed to be even when it's not.

i'm from the G700/G900 thread.

just to let u know that lately there's a monkey trying to buat kacau in every SE thread he can see.

be warned not to get carried away by he's childish act. maybe he is a child, i dunno. just do what u have to do, report him to the moderator. we are doing the same over here.

hi guyz,
i'm from the G700/G900 thread.

just to let u know that lately there's a monkey trying to buat kacau in every SE thread he can see.

be warned not to get carried away by he's childish act. maybe he is a child, i dunno. just do what u have to do, report him to the moderator. we are doing the same over here.

cheers!

*
Saw through the other SE threads and can see who is the monkey causing problems in every SE threads. Thanks for the heads up.

Looks like a S60 fanboy trying to thrash SE threads here.

for a high end SE phone i wouldn't worry much about the slider, especially for an original set phone. i tried it before and it's fine. used quite a few sliders before..

if you take care of it properly it won't be a problem at all.. though sliders can't last as long as a normal candybar shaped phone and it applies to every phone.

@yangxi

Great close up pics of the sliders.

if you look into other 8mp competitors, you'll immediately realize only c905 has the xenon flash function, which is what makes those pictures look so nice, bright and sharp for those indoor pictures. you ain't going to get the same result by using LED (c905 has got LED too!).

i'd say, if you want camera, xenon flash is always the top priority than slightly more quality (innov8). unless you're not bothered by the lacking of xenon flash (but imagine during CNY you meet lots of people in the house/restaurant especially if the lights are dim, you'll want to throw away the camera).happy.gif

But the C905 don't have the orange auto focus light but it uses the white LED as the focus light.

An alternative is to use video mode and the LED will turn on. sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

nope. I've even managed to learn to type sms-es with one hand with the other hand on the wheel but its a bit wider than my usual k800i

This is my personal opinion
Sounds - My volume is usually set at 5 (out of 8) and music playback is quite nice, no pecah sounds on the songs. For the speakphone handsfree, I've used it while driving and its quite good and loud. Sometimes if Im in my room, i on the speaker phone so that im free to walk around the room doing other things. I've not used a Sony Walkman phone so I cant really compare [Rating : 4/5]

Camera - The camera is much like any other cybershot phone - must do some tinkering with the settings (especially light balance) to get the correct colours that you want. I'm very satisfied with the camera. [Rating: 5/5]

Others - I've experience lags entering the contacts after typing the msg but not all the time, just sometimes - esp if its a long msg. When I go to Media > Pictures, its a bit slow to load all the photos. i got about 10000+ "photos" - thanks to my gps maps. I dont know why they categorize it as photos even though the maps are in a totally different folder rclxub.gif

anyway, we are not talking about the k800i here. The only way (that we know so far) to activate the white flashlight in the c905 is by going to video mode and switching on the light

When you change to video mode it will turn on a few minutes.

During video call there is a red led lighted next to the Xenon flash when you use the 8mp camera as the video camera

so far, only c905. the LG renoir has got xenon but that's simply a joke, it's as "powerful" as LED, which render it useless. doesn't even give proper white balance so the whole picture looks very dim and pale.

You have to purchase the TV out cable separately from SonyEricsson. Not sure how much but should be a few hundred RM.

Yes! 2nd batch is out. Those with 08w51 are 2nd batch. Then those recently bought is 08w53 or newer should be 3rd batch onwards.

wow!!! there is a lot of negative feedbacks at Gsm. do you guys feel the same?or they just bought the first batch?

but i thought they corrected those negative stuff. its because when they first tested it..it was only a preview set. it looks like they are more satisfied after trying the first batch retail.... wonder if the second and third batch will be any better.

haha. i think most of them are complaining either because they are having some problems and that the SE service center isnt efficient? but well...thats always a problem in phones. Some people are just unlucky to have a faulty set i guess.

Not sure about the complaints on initial production units. Mine is 08W51 and everything is superb. The slide and assembly is spot on. My previous Cybershot phone was the K800i and even that has some slight creaks. This one is super solid! thumbup.gif

By the way, I have great contents for you C905 owners. I have collected some of the nicest original themes and flash menus from other SE A200 platform phones. These aren't 'ahem' tongue.gif and are made freely available to a certain extend. I have got the tools and software to get these into the C905. If you guys are interested, I'll be contact with the thread starter to have it 'stickied' (includes procedures).

Haha! Its a nice trip. Spent more time with my phone and was able to get the best out of it. Thats why I'm back with some souvenirs for you guys. Honestly speaking, the flash menus and themes are great. The wallpapers are 'motion' aware and will change and warp depending on phone orientation. Also I have the most coveted Everchanging and Day & Night themes from SE S500i and also Sequinity theme from SE T700. These are calendar/event aware wallpapers which morph.

Anyway, yes it should be put on the first page for the benefit of other owners here.

Nope, it isn't as easy as that. You can load the themes but you need another way for the flash menus to go into the phone's native filesystem. We'll need an uploader tool and to set the phone into flash mode (via off mode, pressing C and connecting USB cable to PC). Then dump the files into the specific folder. It's relatively risk free if you know what you are doing. The uploader tool very popular in the SE community and is very stable. Tested on my C905 from Windows XP to Windows Vista to Windows 7 Beta.

The RM1400 AP price should be with the 'no frills' warranty policy. If you need more than 1 year coverage, price is slightly higher. I would recommend Asia Mobile, COMSAT, Telstra AP companies. Last I heard, Chris of Atlantis SS2 is also selling Asia Mobile C905 around the same price bracket. You should check it out.

Yes, its similar but I am trying to promote something of the next level than standard themes. Changing the entire flash menu grid configuration and with effects while preserving the original SE designs.

The K800i was the old days. Its been awhile when I finally came back to SE phones.

Guys! For those of you who like to have original Sony Ericsson Themes and Flash Menus of other Walkman/Cybershot/G-series phones, you can now have it on C905. Refer to my guide below. The same guide has been posted to TS and he will be sticking it at the front page.

Guide to loading various original Sony Ericsson Themes and Flash Menus

Introduction: Now the purpose we're doing this is to apply many SE default themes on other phones to our C905. I believe you have seen nice flash menus with theme effects as you move on the menu. Also you may have seen morphing and everchanging themes. What about orientation and calendar events aware themes? Themes that change as you orientate the phone or when it hits a particular holiday season or event. You can now have these on your shiny new SE C905.

1. Download the necessary files provided by the link below. Unrar them.
2. Temporary disable your antivirus program. Don't worry the files are safe and have been scanned. This is to prevent antivirus from deleting the app files.

3. The entire package consist of the following files and folders:
a. 'Content' folder consisting 'Flash Menu', 'Standby' and 'Theme' folders.
b. A2 Uploader V3 zip file. Unzip this also.
c. USB Flash Driver zip file. Unzip this also.

4. A brief explanations on the files:
a. The files in 'Flash Menu' folders are SWF files which dictates how your menus look and behave.
b. The files in 'Theme' folders are your regular theme files. They are links to these SWF files so when you set a theme, the flash menus will be called upon.
c. The files in 'Standby' folders are only required for certain themes.

5. Ok, now we need to install the flash drivers for your SE C905 phone. If you have updated your phone with SEUS before, you may skip this step. The drivers are the same. Switch off phone, remove and replace battery. Press C and connect your phone to PC. This will set it to Flash Mode. Point Windows driver update dialogue to the flash driver folders. Remove USB cable from phone.
6. Remove and replace battery on the phone.
7. Now start the A2 Uploader tool. There's no need to install.
8. When the tool is started, click on FileSystem Tool. It will prompt you to connect phone. You have 30 seconds to press C and then connect phone to PC. Allow time for it to detect phone. Take note on the status prompts on the application.
9. When things are successfully initialized, you'll see your phone's filesystem.
10. Browse to tpa\preset\system\desktop\flash. Drag all contents from 'Flash Menu' folder there. Wait for the uploaded process to complete.
11. Click on the button to shutdown filesystem to end the session. Press Stop button and then Quit button to exit application.
12. Remove phone from PC, remove and replace battery.
13. Start phone and connect it to PC again but set into USB file storage mode.
14. Copy all contents from 'Theme' folder to the 'Theme' folder of Phone storage. (Do not copy to M2 memory card).
15. Copy entire 'Standby' folder to the picture folder of Phone storage.
16. Safely remove device from PC and disconnect phone from PC. When you're back to Phone mode, you can now set your themes.

Notes
1. For Everchanging, Day & Night theme, you need to set the respective file from 'Standby' folder you have just copied to phone storage. If you set Everchanging theme, you set Everchanging file as wallpaper. The same goes for Day & Night theme, you select Day & Night file as wallpaper.
2. The flash menu for Everchanging and Day & Night theme does not work on C905 because it was ported from Flash v1.1. Our phones (DB3210) is using Flash v2.0/2.1. There are currently no fix for this. You have set menu layout to default 'Grid' as opposed to 'From theme', otherwise you can't select any icons from menu navigation.
3. The rest can be easily set without additional steps.

Disclaimer
1. Proceed with caution and only if you know what you are doing. While the A2 Uploader tool is very stable and is relatively risk free, you still run a slight chance of bricking phone should you mess with other files in the phone filesystem.
2. A2 Uploader and USB Flash drivers supports SE C905 and other similar phones and has been tested on Windows XP, Vista and 7 Beta.
3. Themes and flash menus are for SE C905 and other similar phones (240x320 resolutions).
4. I am not responsible should you have brick your phone.

I don't think anyone is selling the original SE ITC-60 in garage sales for RM50. Maybe some cap ayam tv-out cable for SE phones.

A bit of concern to ask.
My C905 have a bit of "defect"? The sliding screen section is kind of not so well assembly. Hmmm how to put this out. Well, is just that the main screen section are off balance and when you press on the "end call button" the section will kind of like sink down and once you release the button, the whole section will pop up.

Well, if some one understand what I mean, perhaps you can help me illustrate better or does every C905 user facing the same problem

Nop no such thing for mine, maybe you should go back to the seller and consult him/her. That's why, to the rest out there who wanna buy, please double-check, triple-check before you leave, else gg'ed.

Same here. No problem on the slider. Its smooth and not too loose. However, mine has a gap on the top part which is typical for such designs. Some don't have the gap on the top side but has gaps on the lower side.

Well, if some one understand what I mean, perhaps you can help me illustrate better or does every C905 user facing the same problem

no such problems on my set. maybe you want to go back to the shop where u got it and ask about it.

If you look dead straight into the top part of the phone, you'll see the gap. This is where the LCD (top half) meets the bottom half of the phone.

Just imagine the potential. But anyway navigating on a 2.4" LCD display isn't really good cause you really have to keep eyes on the road. Thats why I prefer something larger.

Set everything in auto. In the end i turned off the flash and the result was good with the stabiliser.

Should try Twilight Portrait + Flash. This is equivalent to Slow Flash. It will release just enough flash to expose subject while reducing shutter speed so that exposure on the background is optimal. That way you get to balance the exposure of subject and background while still able to use flash to freeze your subject. I use this mode with the stabilizer permanently set off since digital stabilizers reduces picture quality.

The downside to this combination of settings is inaccuracy of white balance. This is when the ambient lighting is weak, the exposure on background will turn yellowish since the camera firmware can only reduce shutter speed to a certain extend without promoting camera shake. So you get an underexpose background. Your subject will be white and bright making it imbalance with respect to background.

Anyway this is better than to use Auto + Flash since you get dark background anyway. Auto (without flash) is only good if you can control camera shake or subject motion.

Chance is going to be pretty slim. But it will introduce the copper color around midlife of the product lifecycle.

Only for the Wayfinder Navigator, you can download the offline maps using the Wayfinder Maploader on your PC then transfer to your C905. Full map of Malaysia is 55MB.

Download Wayfinder Maploader

You can disable the assisted GPS in the settings to avoid using GPRS/3G connections when using the GPS.

But it will use GPRS/3G connections when searching for addresses.

Remember - Google map will always use the GPRS/3G connections as it cannot save offline maps.

Read my reply above.

Also you need to buy the subscriptions for the Wayfinder Navigator in order to use. Better get a dedicated GPS device like Garmin as the C905 is not a fully dedicated GPS device.

Actually not as accurate as a dedicated GPS device. The C905 is accurate to the closes 100 meters whereas the Garmin is closes to 5-10 meters.

Been using for the past few weeks and found that is it not that accurate. Example, I have turn right already then it asked me to turn right.

Anyone noticed the red led on the side of the C905. At the bottom part near the FastPort. I saw this morning and it was blinking red. Anyone knows what is it for?

The actual Wayfinder Navigator program needs to buy (got free trial for 3 days if get from the website) but not the maps with the FREE Maploader.

Anyway mid this month we are getting version 8 of Wayfinder Navigator from the major firmware update. Current version 7 on all C905.

I wasn't updating the phone at 6am. Just woke up and saw the red blinking light there. Didn't know there is a light there also.

16GB MicroSDHC is about RM300++ but what does MicroSDHC got to do with the C905 as it only use M2.

16GB M2 is not yet available in Malaysia as it was just recently released. Sandisk website says it cost US$129.99 ~RM450+ for the 16GB M2.

Also there is chance that the 16GB M2 might not work with the C905.

The copper color is AP maybe? I don't remember seeing coppers made available by official distributors. I do know like K800i, it will eventually appear some few months after the initial black and silver. During K800i times, the copper was available by AP companies only. So at least domestically SE brought silver and black to our markets only.

It's good that you're helping your friend out with the price of the MicroSDHC but do it in the correct thread. I do not wish for the thread to be closed and a new thread open because we went off topic again like V1.

Regarding the price of the C905. There is a list on the first page. Also contacts for Atlantis. There is also a few forumers selling handphones in the garage sales. They also have their prices updated there. Why don't you ask them and then update here for us?

I just gave you a few threads to start. You can search in there as there are a few people selling! You're a big boy now so go search around.

PM Renee if she didn't update her thread.

I'm getting off topic here. So have fun.

After some consideration, the prices in the first post, which relates to sellers in LYN will be removed.

This is because I feel that it is very unethical to actually release sellers' prices, that are given to you, and you release it to the whole world. They need to do their business as well, so I don't think it's a nice thing to do by releasing prices given to u via PMs

Just my opinion lar... have you seen a pretty used up C902 demo unit from those concept stores? Also the price don't justify a small but good quality screen. Its not really 2009 at all. Hehehe... I have to agree that the pictures are great but you need to have a great sizeable screen too to enjoy that. Regarding the demo units that I tried, the 'pull-out' camera mechanism is a bit loose.

I dont think the c905 allows u to change the IP address it connects with right? I've tried connecting to free wifi like starbucks & mamak stalls and its okay

Added on February 3, 2009, 12:39 pmthe c905 slider seems a bit looser than other SE slide phone's i've touched- like the S series phone or walkman phones (cant rmbr which models). thats probably one drawback future c905 owners want to consider

The copper color is AP maybe? I don't remember seeing coppers made available by official distributors. I do know like K800i, it will eventually appear some few months after the initial black and silver. During K800i times, the copper was available by AP companies only. So at least domestically SE brought silver and black to our markets only.
*
yeah most likely its AP.....

so ur saying that chances of ORI pink coming to this country is almost non-existant?

IF it does actually come to malaysia... the pink one i mean... any estimate on when that will be?

right now thinking of buying the silver for my GF... and if the pink comes...sell off the silver and get the pink...yeah i know its a waste of money...but at least she gets her pink phone....sigh

Yeah its anyone's guess now. Better to buy black and then change housing. You know Malaysian style, when they sell the Pink they will price it differently since its special color. Say this is special edition lar... so special price lar... BS...

Normally it's due to the provider, not phone. Sometimes network not that good, somehow 2 will be sent instead of 1, kena before even with other phones...

You mean it will automatically slide open? Nope the C905 doesn't do that but I think there is some mechanism there to hold in it place. You have to manually push open.

Yes its cheap but the AP company is not as reputable than the one she will eventually recommends which is around RM100++ more expensive. The warranty conditions are better too as well as the coverage.

Yes you can, HOWEVER there's a downside for AP machines. For ori, when you update, you get the Malaysia's firmware, while for AP, when you update, you'll get the country of origin's firmware. So if your machine is from Iran or smtg, then gg'ed.

And mine is AP cry.gif

bought c905 and it's the best phone i owned so far. camera is marvellous and it's user friendly especially for a nokia person like me. i don't regret forking a lot of moolah on this one. if got problems with phones, it depends on a person's luck sometimes. coz no matter how u take care of ur phone, if it is originally got defects from production it will stay that way no matter how good the review is. go and buy c905 first, then u'll know what others rave about.

Yes, the Flight Mode is still there. But it's disabled by default for when you turn on the phone it won't ask you to choose normal mode or flight mode.

You can enable it in the settings.

I think all SE phones have flight mode sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

bought c905 and it's the best phone i owned so far. camera is marvellous and it's user friendly especially for a nokia person like me. i don't regret forking a lot of moolah on this one. if got problems with phones, it depends on a person's luck sometimes. coz no matter how u take care of ur phone, if it is originally got defects from production it will stay that way no matter how good the review is. go and buy c905 first, then u'll know what others rave about.

And as far as I know, there's no shortcut music button. But there is a shortcut to the gallery.

There is a shortcut called Media. You can access all your photos, videos, music, games, and RSS feeds from there. It's like an all-in-one player that plays everything.

You can use the TV out here also.

Not sure if it's for ori only, but the colour is actually pure BS.

They said that cos they wanna earn extra, no such thing as more popular = more exp. When I bought my AP silver, they said same thing, but I said if they wanna ask for more, I'll get it else where

its obviously not the wifi problem on your c905. mayb its the settings in the router. like i said earlier, how did u set up ur wireless router at home? with WEP? IP specific? MAC specific?

Check your wireless router configurations. See if your DHCP is enabled or not. Also check on the DHCP range of IPs got how many connections allowed.

This should be the settings in wireless router and not a C905 issue.

You can set the C905 to have manual IP adress. Go to Wi-Fi > Options > Advanced > Manual Setup

But do remember that after doing this you can only browse internet using that router. Others wifi hotspots can connect but cannot browse internet.

Lim47. It seems that once he connects to the wireless at home with his C905 he cannot browse internet and it ask him to contact operator for support.

QUOTE(fir3f0x @ Feb 3 2009, 02:51 AM)
btw can i ask why there's some wireless connection cannot access to internet and says "contact ur operator for support blabalbla" while some can? this problem quite annoys me cos ngam ngam my router's wireless connection give me this problem.
*
Anyway this looks like a problem with his wireless router settings since he can browse internet in those free wifi hotspots with the C905.

Anyway think he better ask in the Networks and Broadband thread for help.
