Not sure about the complaints on initial production units. Mine is 08W51 and everything is superb. The slide and assembly is spot on. My previous Cybershot phone was the K800i and even that has some slight creaks. This one is super solid!

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Jan 29 2009, 01:35 PM) Haha! Its a nice trip. Spent more time with my phone and was able to get the best out of it. Thats why I'm back with some souvenirs for you guys. Honestly speaking, the flash menus and themes are great. The wallpapers are 'motion' aware and will change and warp depending on phone orientation. Also I have the most coveted Everchanging and Day & Night themes from SE S500i and also Sequinity theme from SE T700. These are calendar/event aware wallpapers which morph. Anyway, yes it should be put on the first page for the benefit of other owners here. |

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Jan 29 2009, 01:43 PM) Nope, it isn't as easy as that. You can load the themes but you need another way for the flash menus to go into the phone's native filesystem. We'll need an uploader tool and to set the phone into flash mode (via off mode, pressing C and connecting USB cable to PC). Then dump the files into the specific folder. It's relatively risk free if you know what you are doing. The uploader tool very popular in the SE community and is very stable. Tested on my C905 from Windows XP to Windows Vista to Windows 7 Beta. |

QUOTE(Vint @ Jan 29 2009, 02:00 PM) The RM1400 AP price should be with the 'no frills' warranty policy. If you need more than 1 year coverage, price is slightly higher. I would recommend Asia Mobile, COMSAT, Telstra AP companies. Last I heard, Chris of Atlantis SS2 is also selling Asia Mobile C905 around the same price bracket. You should check it out. |

QUOTE(IcedNyior @ Jan 29 2009, 02:24 PM) welcome back from ur vacation. btw since u were using the k800i, i would say most of the themes/apps and games are usable on ur c905. same screen size Yes, its similar but I am trying to promote something of the next level than standard themes. Changing the entire flash menu grid configuration and with effects while preserving the original SE designs. The K800i was the old days. Its been awhile when I finally came back to SE phones. |

Guys! For those of you who like to have original Sony Ericsson Themes and Flash Menus of other Walkman/Cybershot/G-series phones, you can now have it on C905. Refer to my guide below. The same guide has been posted to TS and he will be sticking it at the front page.
Guide to loading various original Sony Ericsson Themes and Flash Menus Introduction: Now the purpose we're doing this is to apply many SE default themes on other phones to our C905. I believe you have seen nice flash menus with theme effects as you move on the menu. Also you may have seen morphing and everchanging themes. What about orientation and calendar events aware themes? Themes that change as you orientate the phone or when it hits a particular holiday season or event. You can now have these on your shiny new SE C905. 1. Download the necessary files provided by the link below. Unrar them. 2. Temporary disable your antivirus program. Don't worry the files are safe and have been scanned. This is to prevent antivirus from deleting the app files. 3. The entire package consist of the following files and folders: a. 'Content' folder consisting 'Flash Menu', 'Standby' and 'Theme' folders. b. A2 Uploader V3 zip file. Unzip this also. c. USB Flash Driver zip file. Unzip this also. 4. A brief explanations on the files: a. The files in 'Flash Menu' folders are SWF files which dictates how your menus look and behave. b. The files in 'Theme' folders are your regular theme files. They are links to these SWF files so when you set a theme, the flash menus will be called upon. c. The files in 'Standby' folders are only required for certain themes. 5. Ok, now we need to install the flash drivers for your SE C905 phone. If you have updated your phone with SEUS before, you may skip this step. The drivers are the same. Switch off phone, remove and replace battery. Press C and connect your phone to PC. This will set it to Flash Mode. Point Windows driver update dialogue to the flash driver folders. Remove USB cable from phone. 6. Remove and replace battery on the phone. 7. Now start the A2 Uploader tool. There's no need to install. 8. When the tool is started, click on FileSystem Tool. It will prompt you to connect phone. You have 30 seconds to press C and then connect phone to PC. Allow time for it to detect phone. Take note on the status prompts on the application. 9. When things are successfully initialized, you'll see your phone's filesystem. 10. Browse to tpa\preset\system\desktop\flash. Drag all contents from 'Flash Menu' folder there. Wait for the uploaded process to complete. 11. Click on the button to shutdown filesystem to end the session. Press Stop button and then Quit button to exit application. 12. Remove phone from PC, remove and replace battery. 13. Start phone and connect it to PC again but set into USB file storage mode. 14. Copy all contents from 'Theme' folder to the 'Theme' folder of Phone storage. (Do not copy to M2 memory card). 15. Copy entire 'Standby' folder to the picture folder of Phone storage. 16. Safely remove device from PC and disconnect phone from PC. When you're back to Phone mode, you can now set your themes. Notes 1. For Everchanging, Day & Night theme, you need to set the respective file from 'Standby' folder you have just copied to phone storage. If you set Everchanging theme, you set Everchanging file as wallpaper. The same goes for Day & Night theme, you select Day & Night file as wallpaper. 2. The flash menu for Everchanging and Day & Night theme does not work on C905 because it was ported from Flash v1.1. Our phones (DB3210) is using Flash v2.0/2.1. There are currently no fix for this. You have set menu layout to default 'Grid' as opposed to 'From theme', otherwise you can't select any icons from menu navigation. 3. The rest can be easily set without additional steps. Disclaimer 1. Proceed with caution and only if you know what you are doing. While the A2 Uploader tool is very stable and is relatively risk free, you still run a slight chance of bricking phone should you mess with other files in the phone filesystem. 2. A2 Uploader and USB Flash drivers supports SE C905 and other similar phones and has been tested on Windows XP, Vista and 7 Beta. 3. Themes and flash menus are for SE C905 and other similar phones (240x320 resolutions). 4. I am not responsible should you have brick your phone. QUOTE(raptar_eric @ Jan 30 2009, 12:52 PM) Nop no such thing for mine, maybe you should go back to the seller and consult him/her. That's why, to the rest out there who wanna buy, please double-check, triple-check before you leave, else gg'ed. Same here. No problem on the slider. Its smooth and not too loose. However, mine has a gap on the top part which is typical for such designs. Some don't have the gap on the top side but has gaps on the lower side. |

Its only if Garmin released a JAVA/J2ME version for non-smartphones.
Just imagine the potential. But anyway navigating on a 2.4" LCD display isn't really good cause you really have to keep eyes on the road. Thats why I prefer something larger. |

QUOTE(dilbert @ Jan 31 2009, 03:09 PM) Set everything in auto. In the end i turned off the flash and the result was good with the stabiliser. Should try Twilight Portrait + Flash. This is equivalent to Slow Flash. It will release just enough flash to expose subject while reducing shutter speed so that exposure on the background is optimal. That way you get to balance the exposure of subject and background while still able to use flash to freeze your subject. I use this mode with the stabilizer permanently set off since digital stabilizers reduces picture quality. The downside to this combination of settings is inaccuracy of white balance. This is when the ambient lighting is weak, the exposure on background will turn yellowish since the camera firmware can only reduce shutter speed to a certain extend without promoting camera shake. So you get an underexpose background. Your subject will be white and bright making it imbalance with respect to background. Anyway this is better than to use Auto + Flash since you get dark background anyway. Auto (without flash) is only good if you can control camera shake or subject motion. |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Feb 2 2009, 02:27 AM) midlife??? wait a minute...i tot someone saw the copper color already? The copper color is AP maybe? I don't remember seeing coppers made available by official distributors. I do know like K800i, it will eventually appear some few months after the initial black and silver. During K800i times, the copper was available by AP companies only. So at least domestically SE brought silver and black to our markets only.any idea when is this midlife supposed to be??? coz if its THAT long...then |

QUOTE(nixonyang @ Feb 2 2009, 06:29 PM) purely on oppinion Just my opinion lar... have you seen a pretty used up C902 demo unit from those concept stores? Also the price don't justify a small but good quality screen. Its not really 2009 at all. Hehehe... I have to agree that the pictures are great but you need to have a great sizeable screen too to enjoy that. Regarding the demo units that I tried, the 'pull-out' camera mechanism is a bit loose.W902 really caught my eye while i was in a phone shop buying my prepaid card. is it worth up to c905? |

Yeah its anyone's guess now. Better to buy black and then change housing. You know Malaysian style, when they sell the Pink they will price it differently since its special color. Say this is special edition lar... so special price lar... BS...
