I am a chiropractor practicing in Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas.
There is no standard charges in Malaysia right now. It may range from RM70-200. The charges are all depending on the treatment given. Some chiropractic centres has physiotherapy facilities such as ultrasound, interferential currents, EMS, low grade laser, specialized tables. The charges are reflected from the equipments used. Some chiropractors charges low such as RM70. THat means they have no other equipment at their centres except hands. For my case, we charge RM110 for first visit, subsequent visits is RM90. We have a full physiotherapy facility and chiropractic specialized tables You can check out the website www.chiropractormalaysia.com Added on January 21, 2009, 10:40 amThere are lots of bad apple Chiropractors out there in Malaysia. Signing patients with very expensive packages ie. RM5000-10000 range. Do not fall into it because it is totally against Ministry of Health ruling. A reasonable charge for a USA/Canada/Australia trained chiropractor is about RM70-120 per session. Anything more than that is considered unreasonable. oh hello hello
so i went to the chiropractor in klang, the first visit is rm130 and the subsequent visit is rm100 i guess they charge depending on the severity of your case. i got diagnosed with scolisis T_T so during the first visit the doc already pressed on my muscles and cracked too many bones (so bloody pain! i cried ok!), and then they put me on this massage machine and then stuck electrodes on to my back. after that the nurse taught me basic daily exercises i have to do, even teaching me a special method of getting up from my bed anyway it was rm130 for 2 hours first visit. * they also have this package to help you save money : rm1k - 12 visits rm2k - 26 visits rm3k - 40 visits rm4k - 56 visits but i'm on the fence about it, so i'll go do some research before i commit first p/s the doc is from usa This post has been edited by map: Feb 7 2009, 06:11 PM |

I never heard of any Taiwan chiropractor in Malaysia. He is most likely a Chinese sensai.
Chiropractors are all registered with the Ministry of Health. He is apparently not listed. |

It is not necessarily true that "GOOD CHIROPRACTOR ONLY WORKS WITH THEIR HANDS". I would rather trust someone who can evolve over time and not sticking with the old rules and philosophy. I had severe backache before. A friend recommend me to a blind man who operate blind massage centre at Pertama Complex. Been there for three times, and each visit I was charged RM45 per hour. But 1 hour massage was enough for each visit. I also bought massage chair for my use at home. Now my pain is gone. And I don't know to whom I should thanked to - the blind man or the massage chair. Or maybe I should thanked both

QUOTE(chocoholic221 @ May 3 2009, 01:14 PM) does anybody know of a female chiropractor in pj/cheras area? I do know of one in Phileo Damansara. She was a kind and gentle lady. I only went for one visit. On the assumption she's still there, I might be able to retrieve the contact. Would you be interested in it? Shoot me a PMi need to see one and my dad is quite worried bout the amount of touch involved @map, bear in mind that I have absolutely zero knowledge in medicine what more regarding the human spine, but from my experience with the people whom I personally know, scoliosis is something which patients should not joke around. Even if it costs an arm and a leg, I believe treatment is a necessity. Why do I say that? Because I know of a sweet old lady whom also suffers from scoliosis. Her condition is so bad that in about 2 to 3 years time, she will be wheelchair bound, unable to walk for the remaining years of her life. Therefore if there is any chance to correct the unnatural growth of the spine, I do suggest it be done quickly in order not to end up wheelchair bound. |

I went to see my family MD with my xrays and funny enough he says that the chiropractors can't do anything about scoliosis except go for surgery and shave off a bone to release the pressure/pain. To his credit, my chiro also says that the most effective way to treat scoliosis (for a person my age) is to shove a metal rod up my spine. Like what you said, he also warned me that if I kept applying pressure to my spine, it'll only get worse. -,- I agree, scoliosis is serious business. |

Oh hey, thanks for responding. So there is indeed treatment albeit it sounds really painful. I'm picturing bracers but for the bones. I guess this is a case of suffer now (short while) rather than suffer long term 30-40 years later ya?

QUOTE(CyberSetan @ May 10 2009, 04:47 AM) As you are practicing in Malaysia and as per Ministry of Health regulations regarding this matter: You'll be surprised with the misuse of the "Dr".Why do you still use the "Dr" title in front of your name (as seen in the website above)? Did you remind your patient not to call you "Dr" as it will create confusion? I met someone recently, and he calls himself "Dr". So I asked him, are you a medical doctor or a doctorate? He said " I'm a nutritionist!" QUOTE(map @ May 13 2009, 08:17 AM) yes there is a brace you can wrap around your body, but it costs rm12k so the chiro only recommends it for ppl with over 30degrees Seems like it's a good way of avoiding the odd jobs right? I'm sure you're good at commanding people around then.. "Hey move this object here, and there!" How bad is your scoliosis anyway? In degree terms.. oh well. every cloud has a silver lining. scoliosis patients are medically discouraged from doing push ups and sit ups now, or carry heavy objects. ohohohohoho |

I got so several injuries due to extreme sports. I have injuries at several areas such as left ankle, both side of knees, right wrist, neck, left shoulder and fingers. Lately I start to feel my spine is a bit misalignment maybe because of too much extreme sliding when playing Paintball or maybe it happened since I had ankle injury since 2 years ago (latest). So, when I was tempang, I walk a bit senget to reduce the pain for about many months. Maybe, this is also a factor. I’m not too sure because I’m not a doctor. From my history, I rarely go see the doctor even I had the injury.
I was wondering is chiropractor can help to fix my problem. Let say if my backbone is senget, after doing the adjustment, can I become taller? You know when the backhone is senget, sure the height become less than the original position. This post has been edited by POYOZER: Dec 3 2009, 01:29 AM |

A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is not the same as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) which is also not the same as a Medical Doctor (MD) DC (Doctor of Chiropractic ) is a degree offered in USA, and Canada. There are many types of Doctors. MD is not the only Doctor. Malaysians are educated and brainwashed to believe that Doctor's must give medicines, which is totally wrong. There are ND (Naturopathic doctor), DPT (Doctor of Physiotherapy), DO (Doctor of Osteopath), DC (Doctor of Chiropractic), DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery).....etc What is the definitoin of Doctor? Somebody who can make diagnosis and decide on the course of treatment. Chiropractor's are definitely not fake doctors. However, a real chiropractor must be educated in USA, Canada, Australia, SOuth Africa, Europe.. CCE accredited chiropractic schools. In USA, there are 70000 doctor of chiropractics. in Canada, there is 10000. We are totally qualified and recognized as Doctors in USA, Australia, and Canada. |

A question here, does anyone having posture problems and seek for a chiropractor? How many sessions are needed before you can totally recovered? Isn't it one should be enough? |

QUOTE(needyourwish @ Dec 14 2010, 10:55 PM) Hi... My personal opinion, don't need to spend money on them unless you can afford to go to the best people.A question here, does anyone having posture problems and seek for a chiropractor? How many sessions are needed before you can totally recovered? Isn't it one should be enough? For example, there is one old man in Thailand, really good, used to treat the king. But I can't afford it, the time and flight fares. I believe you can find such people here in Malaysia, but perhaps not as experienced. For example, one of the famous chain store here in Malaysia, I would try to catch an appointment with the boss instead, won't go near any of the pupils if I have major problem, probably settle for them only for small problems. And NO, one is never enough. There's no quick fix. It's all slow process with many factors involved, including personal discipline and determination. On the other hand, I'd recommend you take Pilates. I know a trainer personally, and I've tried both mat classes and also those with equipment. Mat classes are cheaper, just like yoga mat classes. But if you've got the money to spare, you can go for one-on-one sessions with equipments. I'd say it's really good, especially the equipment sessions. Posture problem is not about bone problem (usually). It's about your own discipline, and training up the muscles that support you. |

Hi. I just went to see a chiropractor in penang near GAMA(dr. cheah). He charges RM400+ per session. He said the complete package is rm 2k+. He uses a pen or chopstick to do the therapy. FYI, I walked out of the shop right away. Is it a scam? Thanks

wow, seems like a lot of recommendations and flame going here.
Just saw this inversion table at mid valley last weekend, tried it for 2-3 minutes but didn't really feel any improvement. My back is not really painful, but just really tight sometimes and easily sprained. Always end up cracking my neck and back, which scares my wife. Will be going to one of these first before investing rm2k on the inversion table. |

QUOTE(wordtalks @ Feb 9 2012, 06:15 PM) Nope, not about bed. I would like them to help me adjust my upper cervical c1-c3 area gently without those scary cracking and popping and twisting, as ive been to those chiropractors who practice it. And then i think he over did it, and now im in pain on my right side, with muscles strained (pulling all the way from the head, eye, jaw, tooth, neck, shoulder and arm - on one side on the right which i never experienced b4) .I have several symptoms (imbalance / dizziness/ blurry vision & inability to focus my eyes on objects/ headaches/ tinnitus/ acid reflux/ indigestion/ bloatedness/ belching) which suspected could be due to the upper cervical (c1-c3 region) and if possible, it would be best if the chiropractors have subluxation device to confirm it. Any chiropractors here to answer my questions? |

I thought chiropractors are more involved in pain management; didn't know they could treat spine problems and scoliosis.

I checked on all the names of chiropractics mentioned above at the Medical Register at MOH website. None of them are on the list. Why is that so?

Currently, chiropractic is not regulated by law in malaysia, unlike how established it is in the US, Canada, Australia, etc. Hence, there is a proliferation of people out there claiming to be chiropractors without actually having the proper credentials.
Other than that, much like other complementary medicine, its grouped under Complementary Medicine under Malaysian law, if i'm not mistaken. |

I have lower back pain whenever I sweep or mop the floor after a few minutes. I also can't carry load on my shoulder (e.g. backpack, heavy groceries, etc) for a longer period of time. Do you think I should go for a chiroprator to seek treatment? It has been bothering me for a couple of years.

Follow-up with your treatment and really see if there's improvement or not. If not, consult your chiropractor for further advice. |

QUOTE(hewtwok @ Apr 16 2012, 05:00 PM) tell me about the symptoms u had (imbalance/dizziness/blurry vision)? when did it start? and how it relates to chiropractic? Hey sorry for the late reply am not too familiar with low yat, didnt know how to retrieve the posts ive posted.i had some issues of balance/dizziness too until today. did mri - turn out ok. so not sure what to do now. now i had the feeling of heat behind my neck. Well, it all started with some breathing difficulty at first without me knowing what's the cause and reasons to it, and i got better all of a sudden, free from that breathing problem and a month later it appeared again after taking coffee, which i ve nvr taken b4, cz i know whenever i take even just a tiny sip, ill get immediate headache, which wasnt diagnosed accurately but was told its migraine. I used to be in the medical field b4 i quit my job due to these symptoms which bother me. Months later after the breathing problem, i have stomach issue, keep feeling hungry yet nauseated and i cant take much food, although i feel hungry all the time, its like my food were never gone into the stomach, but i just couldnt put anymore in. Was on PPI (Controlloc 40 mg) for 2-3 mths (no more nausea) and doctor finally gave me a diagnosis; Acid Reflux (by an ENT Surgeon), after all the hassles even going for an endoscopy and colonoscopy which was done by an irresponsible doctor at Gleneagles, without any real diagnosis too, bcoz he didnt send my tissue to the lab for biopsy. I wonder what was wrong with him though, a night stay and it cost me RM 5,000. He really is cutting patient's throat with that highly priced procedures which are incomplete and i was required to do another time of both endo n colon scope which i refused to, by another gastroenterologist. accordingly, the tissues taken from the stomach should be sent to the lab for test. Well, forget about that, back to the symptoms. Immediately after the scopes, the very next day, i started having dizziness, very bad nausea, blurry vision. Until i almost fainted. And i have been living like that without help, not at all from any of the specialists, and ive been to many that wasted lots of money on them without a proper diagnosis instead they refered me to a psychiatrist. And was told that im having some anxiety / panic attack which caused me those symptoms. Still i didnt give up even my mom feels the same and agreed to what the doctors said about me. I refused to take those medications. And i quit my job and rested at home while looking for remedies online and find ways to get my symptoms off. Been to many chiropractors, which didnt help until i met one, Dr Michael Chan. He is the one who managed to help me. Within the 6 adjustments period, i have seen improvements, which was good. I stopped driving & working because of my symptoms and now i could drive back again because of Dr Michael's adjustments. He found three areas on my spine, C1, T4 and Sacrum and he fixes those area for me. And i have temporarily stopped because i was down with dengue, followed by tooth infection and now ovarian cyst, but im going back to him again to complete my treatment. He was very confident that he could help me because accordingly he has seen many of such cases in Australia. He is a Gonstead Chiropractor. Therefore, his adjustment is very quick & precise on the area of subluxation only. In Gonstead believe they will correct only the area of subluxation. “Find the subluxation, accept it where you find it, correct it and leave it alone.” – C.S. Gonstead What about your symptoms? How did it all started and what have u tried and what have you not? What did the doctors said about you? It has been bothering me for a couple of years. Hi Yin,Have u did any imaging b4? Well, i would suggest u to a chiropractor but frankly speaking, there are not many professional ones in Malaysia. I have been to a few and they caused me great discomforts / ill, on and off with manual adjustments. One of them even caused my neck sprained that lasted for like a month or so until i seek another chiro who helped adjust it back for me and finally im free from it. So far, ive tried out 4 chiro's. 1 of them is a Gonstead chiropractor, well... he was fine at first, and i thought i have found the right person, didnt expect that the adjustments for several visits, 8 times wasnt too consistent. For a week, wow i feel superb however the next following adjustment, wow, it sucks! Was improving and just with one other adjustment, all the symptoms are back again. So finally i am consulting a lady chiropractor whom so far gave me great adjustments with her Activator method. Unfortunately, out of the 4 chiropractors, 2 of them didnt managed to give me an actual diagnosis. The Gonstead chiro, gave me his diagnosis which contradicts to the lady chiropractor which im seeing now. Im very concern now of the actual diagnosis, to which is the correct one to help in my problem, because my upper cervical spine is most likely affected. With MRI it was seen, but most chiropractors dont look at the MRI pictures. Have u seen any btw? How was it? Added on May 12, 2012, 10:38 pm[quote=chiropractor,May 5 2009, 02:16 PM] There are two types of chiropractors: 1) straight- only uses hand to adjust, philosophy is based on the same philosophy 100 years ago. They are subluxation based 2) mixer- not only using hands but also technologies and other deciplines of health care such as acupuncture, nutrition, herbology....etc. They are clinical based In USA, Canada, more and more chiropractors are turning into mixer kinds. Just like other healthcare deciplines, chiropractors also evolve into more technological based. Myself I graduated from a Mixer-based school (National University of Health Sciences), and we are used to work side-by-side with medical doctors and other healthcare practitioners.. It is not necessarily true that "GOOD CHIROPRACTOR ONLY WORKS WITH THEIR HANDS". I would rather trust someone who can evolve over time and not sticking with the old rules and philosophy. You may come to my place for a consultation free of charge. We only start charging when you decided to use our service. X-ray is not required for the first time, but will refer you out for one if needed. Adjustment will be delivered in the first visit. Hi, Would like to know what sort of techniques are your speciality? And what do u use to diagnose and detect subluxations? Purely by palpation or any devices used? Do u have the paraspinal digital thermal scanner? This post has been edited by eelynsoon: May 12 2012, 10:38 PM |

QUOTE(city hunter @ Jun 21 2012, 03:16 PM) hi, Most low back pain or any bodily pain are functional problems due to posture, life style, sitting habit, mattress, chair...etc. thus there is no diagnosis for it. If the problem can be seen on the X-ray or MRI, then it is pathological which comes with a diagnosis.this is where i go to for my lower back pain. i have a straight neck too that requires frequent maintenance coz my posture is so bad. they do use x-rays and MRIs to explain my condition. so i can actually 'see' what's wrong with me. they would not recommend MRIs unless necessary. recently i was introduced to this 'Insight Subluxation Station'. it is a machine and does various tests to diagnose the condition of your body (bones, muscle, etc). my NSFi reading wasn't too good. practically 'impaired!' you can read about it here A good chiropractor will look at the patient from different angles, ie. life style, chair, mattress, posture, work, stress-level. In order to come up with the best treatment plan. Added on June 22, 2012, 3:17 pm QUOTE(wombie @ May 28 2012, 03:34 PM) can i ask which chiropractor is the best in treating difference of length in my leg, about 1 cm +, it affects my walking, i have been told i used to float while walking.. Leg length difference is very common, don't worry it's not the end of world. 80% of the population has it. It only varies from the degree and severity of the discrepancy. normally 1cm is considered with the normal limit. So don't worry!2 types of leg Length difference: 1) Structural- pathological or genetic 2) functional - bad posture, pelvic rotation/subluxation, scoliosis. The more common type if functional and chiropractors can treat it very effectively! You should look at 1) the chair you are sitting 2) sitting posture 3) standing posture. If you correct the 3, you should be able to improve the leg length discrepancy. It can be due to hyperpronation of the feet also. So have your feet checked by chiropractors! Added on June 22, 2012, 3:36 pmMany of my patients are wondering about the difference between CHIROPRACTOR and PHYSIOTHERAPISTS. The two professions actually overlap in many ways just like chiropractors and osteopaths. USA and Canada-trained chiropractors incorporates lots of physiotherapy into the practices. Many may debate that one should see a physiotherapist first before going to a chiropractor. I don't disagree. However, the skill level in performing joint manipulation is different. From my own experience, after seeing hundreds and thousands of patients who don't respond well to PT treatments, they respond way better from the combination of chiropractic adjustment and physiotherapy. I have two physiotherapists working for me. One locally trained degree holder from Masterskills, and the other from Curtin university Australia. They both cannot adjust or manipulate joints, but they can do much better jobs then me in patient education, soft tissue massage, exercises. I should say Chiropractic works great with physiotherapy together! Highly recommend Dr Dansen Wong and Dr Twink Lim (first female chiro in msia) from Bangsar Chiropractic. Very dedicated and professional chiropractors who puts patient's need as top priority. I have scoliosis, cervical (neck) slipped disc and lower back pain. After a month of treatment, my problems improved a lot. Am under Dr Dansen, highly recommended!

Chiropractor is expensive..why dun give it a try to go for university open day when the final year chiropractor students will examine you first at much much lower price? They will refer you to their instructor who is qualified chiropractor if you really need it. Otherwise can save you some money by unnecessarily visiting expensive chiropractor for the first time.

QUOTE(map @ Jan 12 2009, 11:50 AM) i think i have a back bone problem, bcos i can only sleep when my body is curved, usually by the start of the morning i'm curled up like a pretzel already Before seeing a chiropractor, can try youtubing for some tips.when i sit i need to put my feet up otherwise i keep shifting my position too anyway, so i'm intending to visit a chiropractor, but i was wondering if anyone knows how much the consultation fees cost? It can give you some overview on your conditions and moreover you can have better discussion with the chiropractor later. |

Please don't go to Optimum Chiropractor in Plaza Damas.
i had scoliosis since 13 yrs old and since gave birth to my baby last yr, the degree has progress to the extent i have sciatica symptom....when i was pregnant in UK, i had pubic symphysis dysfunction and i saw a lady chiropractor there who fixed my problem and since then i am a believer in alternative medicine ( i am a doctor btw).. I have returned to Malaysia last year and my sciatica is getting worse. I am looking for a good chiropractor and finally found this centre which is near to my house.... for the past few days i need to call the centre a few times to rearrange appointment with them due to the busy nature of my work. And everytime i called, there is this rude indian lady who answered my calls..but i keep my patience... so today, i went to plaza damas for my appointment at 3. 30... as anyone who has been to plaza damas, there is a complex of shops outside the shopping centre. as this is my first time , i got lost.. it was 15 mins past 3,30... i couldn't find their place so i gave them a ring... and again, this indian lady receptionist answered my call with again, her rude tone.... i told her hello, i have appt today but i couldnt seem to find my way.. and she quickly cut me and ask WHO ARE YOU??? and i said oh sorry my name is X... and she said oh yes the appointment is AT 3.30, SO WHERE AARREE YOU NOW???? omg.. when she said this i just want to explode... i was walking around looking for their place with pain on my back...and here she is trying to condemn me for being late by stressing that the appointment is at 3.30... i was so angry so i hang up the phone and finally found their place and as i entered the premise, i saw that indian lady receptionist sulking her face ... and as i couldnt content my anger i asked are u the one who talked to me over the phone just now, you are so rude?? and she said yes, but this how i talk...she answered this while making faces and while THROWING her stuff onto the table.....at this point i was super mad as that was a very rude gesture... we had argument and i did lecture her about customer service that is not how you address an angry customer....you are suppose to just try to be nice and say sorry, i don't mean that, maybe this is just a misunderstanding but hell no, she even smirk at me and waving her hand in the air making avery rude gesture.. i asked for the manage which i think is dr lee the chiropractor and he said he did listen to her but he kindof trying to defend his receptionist by saying that is how she is.... and he did say sorry to me although i can see the lack of sincerity in his face... i can't comment of the treatment because as i walk out after the argument..how do you expect me to be treated kindly in this place as at my first appointment, when i don't even stepped into the treatment room yet, i have already received this rude service. please optimum chiropractor, you should hire someoneelse, before more patients like me walk out from your clinic.... |

Thank you..he's too long winded, ask us to write essay for him to read one annoying thing is this dr barry has a lot of friends in internet posting who would recommend him but don't believe his friends. I believe he can treat those minor cases only. i went to another chiro, and he solved my problem in just one or two sessions and don't need to pay almost rm 1000 for dr barry. |

Hi
May I know do u guys take x ray to confirm sciolosis? Where do u guys go for x ray? I went to see chiropractor before n she used her hand and eyes to check n said that I didn't have sciolosis. However another guy asked me to go for X-ray to confirm as he mentioned that I have one side shoulder higher than another, even the massage lady mentioned that when she massages my back. |

Our behavioral state on sleeping is a natural part of every individual. We spend about a third of our lives asleep, so proper posture is very important. The same with proper standing and sitting posture, it will help us to work more efficiently without getting strain to our back or body. And that’s what I have learned from my Chiropractor!
Last year, I kept on suffering from neck and back pain until my friend referred me to Dr. Choo. She gently performed some physical examination on me and gave me some guidelines on the proper way of sleeping. Dr. Choo even demonstrated the guidelines for me to fully comprehend. I ended my therapy last December 2013, but now I’m still benefiting from its comfort. I can say that I didn't waste my money in that kind of treatment; it’s worth it after all! I hope that this post will be a help for you guys and wishing you a pain-free life. Btw, you can get info directly from Dr. Choo online, just visit http://www.familychiropractic.com.sg/ |

I am Dr. Lee, the owner of Optimum Chiropractic and the practicing chiropractor. Please let me make a clarification regarding the complaint about us made by Keretamerah.
First of all, she made 3 appointments with 2 last minute cancellation and 1 no show. On the 4th appointment she was 20 minutes late. Secondly, she was yelling at my receptionist Yogesh when she finally arrived at 350pm. Yogesh was in tears. Yogesh has been working with me in Damansara Chiropractic for 1 year and Optimum chiropractic for 6 years. Been a former staff nurse in Pantai, she knows how to handle situations very well and she never raises her voice. Thirdly, Keretamerah did the same in Bangsar Chiropractic. Made appointments with last minute cancellation and no shows and was rejected by Dr Twink. Please Keretamerah, you claim yourself to be a MEDICAL DOCTOR, do you have any sense and common courtesy?? There are many different chiropractic techniques (250+ different types). The ones more popular in Malaysia are Diversified technique, Activator, SOT, Gonstead, Drop technique, Upper cervical...etc. Therefore, the chiropractor you are seeing maybe complete different from the one your cousin's neighbor is seeing in terms of experience, length of treatment, treatment course, cost....etc.
The price range is big in my profession due to: 1) equipments, 2) location rental, 3) renovation cost... lol. RM90-RM200/per visit. The treatment shouldn't cost you a bomb. However, if patient still doesn't recover after 10-15 visits, there could be issues due to life styles such as mattress too soft too old, pillow too high or too low, bad posture, lack of exercise, ....etc Please remember to look for chiropractors who are registered with ACM (Association of Chiropractor Malaysia) and Tradtional Complementary Medicine (TCM) of Ministry of Health. Chiropractic is a regulated health profession in Malaysia. |

Well, let me put up some of my opinion here.
I just had been followed my friend to the clinic, as he said that the previous treatment was very good. I were waiting at the recep. counter and look-look-see-see. I had asked some questions towards to the recep.., she is just answered with no eye-contact with me, no smiling and not very polite. Then, she received a call and given the direction to the caller, not very polite and just mentioned twice, our clinic located on top of the starbucks. Well, actually is not cos there are some walking distance from the escalator on top of the starbucks!!! I wondered why new customers are not able to find it easily. The caller managed to reach the clinic, proceed to the recep., and since the customer mentioned that she is having the first treatment and is a first timer, the recep. given a registration form to her to fill, by given no instruction and explanation or guideline. After my friend finished his treatment about 15mins, the doctor came out and i were standing in front of the counter, and i looked at the doctor directly, the doctor pretended that i'm not exits and no eye-contact at all. Well, seem like the clinic's business is good and forget the practise of customer relationship ?? Well, that is my experienced of being there. |

Anyways, I will take note on this and make sure I smile at everyone at the reception with eye-contacts. |

QUOTE(jurlique08 @ Jan 20 2014, 09:32 PM) Hi Most scoliosis can be detected through Adam's test (meaning banding down with both knees straight). X-ray is usually not required. X-ray is needed only when it is confirmed that you have scoliosis (confirmed by Adam's test), and you want to know how many degrees are the scoliosis curvatures. Patient under 18 years old are advisable to take X-rays every 6-months to check the progress of scoliosis. |

Regarding IMU student clinic. It is pretty cheap. I was told by my IMU interns in my center that patient only pays RM10/treatment. However you get what you pay for. Remember it is a student clinic and IMU students are not ready to practice yet (skill level is not to the standard yet because lack of practice). I still recommend going for experienced chiropractor.

No need to apologies. Please be remember and be more practical. Any professional services industry must be alert and aware of customer relationship. Anyone walk-into your office/clinic, is a prospecting and any of the staffs must be trained and knew how to do so.
Anyway, this is my first experienced in your clinic environment |

Anyone walk-into your office/clinic, is a prospecting and any of the staffs must be trained and knew how to do so. Thanks for your understanding. Anyway, this is my first experienced in your clinic environment Chiropractor is actually a stressful job especially after treating 30-40 patients for that day and my mind is on how to solve difficult patient cases. My assistants are equally as stressed out on maintaining the good flow of patients on busy days so appointments are not delayed. Maintaining a good eye-contact and keeping a smile on the face may take extra efforts on busy days although I know this is not an excuse. No-shows, last minute cancellation, walk-in with no appointment are very common in Malaysia. We are cool with them if patients show understanding to our schedule and are not over-demanding. There has been cases which patients walks-in and demand to be seen right away, which is not possible when we already have patients lineup for the next few hours. It is common for chiropractors to ask patients to come for multiple treatment visits since healing takes time, adjustments also takes time. |

Regarding my comments on Keretamerah. She has written the same negative comments on our google review. She has visited several other chiropractors in KL including Bangsar Chiropractic which the owner Dr Twink is my good friend. She was denied treatment there for some reason.

Need advice please! My situation is the following,
1) I have no problem with my back, But i went to a Tit-Tar for body adjustment. A newbie is doing the therapy for me, after the session, my left leg felt abit numb when i stand up and walk. 2) Since it's abit numb, i went to other recommended tui na from a friend. I'm not sure this tui na sensei is a registered or not coz his shop dont have signboard but friends say he's good, so i give it a try. This sensei use running cupping on my left abdomen till my left thigh, the pain is so unbearable so much pain. After the session, my left leg get worst, the numb is worst, I hardly walk. I have to sit every 2 mins of walking. So i went back to this sensei again and ask what happend , he told me its my backbone get compressed the nerve, and he massage the same spot again this time, and the pain is so much , i taught it will be ok, but seems no improvement at all. So i stop going to this sensei again. 3) This time, i went to TCM specialist in jalan pudu. I told him what happend, and he ask me lie on the bed and he spotted that my hip dislocated abit. He give me a massage then adjust back my hip. At night, the magic happends, My leg no more feeling the numbness but the left leg pain is still there due to the damage done by the 2nd sensei. 4) I went back to the 1st tit-tar, hoping to tell him that the new guy who done the adjustment for me did wrong that make my hip abit dislocated. And hoping he can cure this leg pain problem since it all started in this tit-tar shop. After 4 more session , there's still no improvement. And worst, while on the way for the session, it was raining, the floor is so wet, i slipped and fell straight slamming on the floor hitting my lowest back near the ahole there. luckily i still can be able to walk . It's been 1mth+ now , my left leg get no improvement, when i sit = no problem. When i stand up = pain is like a hole in your teeth, those kinda feeling. When i walk = 1min+ and i have to sit down for awhile, and walk again and so on. I was never known or introduced to Chiropractic . I always think Chiropractic was tit-tar or chinese sensei things. Now i really need some advice , what's the different with the sensei, tit-tar compare to Chiropractic ? Can my situations be cured by consulting Chiropractic or should i go for Orthopedic instead? Please advice . thank you |

QUOTE(white cat @ May 19 2015, 10:23 AM) The first manual check up is free (for my girlfriendcase). If they suspected something wrong, they will recommend you to take x-ray in Sunway hospital, cost RM180 to 200. The doctor will quote you the treatment fees in your second visit. Likely to be in the package form that last for few months or a year that costs you few thousand, depending on the treatment needed. It is definitely more expensive than the rate in the market but some far my girl friend feels better. I can't comment whether other chiro who charged lower can provide the same level of treatment in terms of effectiveness or not.....Because we already feel comfortable with this doctor and sometimes the clinic was packed. So it is your choice. Good luck!! |

QUOTE(fnm83 @ Jul 24 2015, 08:43 PM) I am/was a TAGS Cheras patient, basically they are well equipped and the charges are pretty standard ( means high ). Expect to pay RM 120-150 per visit for chiro only, DTS and physio are charged separately. If you sign package, it'll be about 15-20% cheaper.Nowadays there are more chiros around, but they still maintain a over RM100 charge per visit.... personally if there are more demands and supplies for chiro, think the prices will go down to 60-80 (my ideal payment per visit) PS: Not all chiros are experienced, so are newbies, they may make matters worse.... some chiros are pretty but they do not have the strength to 'adjust' you properly, end up you pay RM 120 for the pretty chiro to 'raba-raba' you. TAGS Cheras : (my personal opinion) Ask for Dr Hayden, bu this appointments are the fullest and longest. or try Dr Marlon, avarage to good. |

Hi everyone
My name Is Mehdi and I'm from Persia. Like many of you I experienced back and neck pain, discomfort in my hands and shoulders and bad quality sleep. So decided to go to a chiropractor but after researching about its benefits and risks, I realized that There are things that chiropractors do not tell you. I'm not here to name it all but one that got my attention was the risk of a acute cerebellar infarction due to manipulation of neck.(simply a deadly stroke). the reason is moving neck in certain positions can cause a tear in your Artery, which basically it tries to heal with the cloth, the cloth can then break of and travel into the vessel and become too small and then eventually cause stroke. I strongly suggest young people don't think about chiropractic if you do do not let the doctor to go for your neck. Anyways after watching this video i forgot about all my pains and adopted myself to my current lifestyle and pain and whatsoever shit that is happening around me . Be Strong Try to be friend to Pain is not that bad. Fear is worst than pain. |

Leaving the symptom untreated is not the solution, it is painful and can get worst in the long run. Some people opt for hospital operations to correct their pain, the risks is even greater, more uncomfortable and costly as well. |

What i didnt like is... Why do he has to charge by packages? Gonstead chiros r suppose to only fix d problem n let d body heal on its own. N not needing u to constantly keep getting adjusted for no apparent reason. Anyway, it is individual preference. If you somehow find a good chiro who offer lower prices, do share your experience here. Cheer! If lets say u let patient try out first for few times and if they feel comfortable u recommend them package thats fine but what he is practicing is not like that. They want to tie u down so that u don have the chance to go for other chiros. I got adjusted by mike before too. He is good in the sense of d back but for my neck he made me felt even worst. When i informed him of it , he was too egoistic that he cannot accept my negative feedback. And now i had an acute pain with me twisting my knee, he even came to the extent of not fixing my problem jus bcz i dont intend to sign up for his package. Is this what an ethical chiropractor does? Imagine i was in pain and yet he didnt want to help. Whatmore he says his aim is to help patients but with such an attitude, i wonder if he ever have d heart to help ALL patients who seek for his help or only those who could PAY him? Really disappointed with him. I was his old timer patient when he first started his clinic with barry. Back then when i seen him, he wasnt too gonstead as he called himself to be. I asked if he needed an x ray , he said nothing needed as he alrdy has the nervoscope with palpation he can fix it alrdy and after 3 months only take an x ray to see if it gets better. And i was wondering is tis pure gonstead? And if i were to only take my scan 3 months later how would i be able to compare d before n after results? And i did email dr ian to confirm if gonstead dont need x ray for chronic case as mine was chronic since young i had the pain for more than 20 yrs. i was told x ray will be needed in chronic severe cases, where nervoscope would then be used to assist together with palpation for confirmation before any adjustment were to be performed. With these + his egoistic character not being able to accept d facts being negative . Only wanting to listen to good feedback which of coz i did gave him when he really helped me with my back. I stopped the moment he put d blame back to me for not going for frequent adjustments; as i was down with dengue back then so i missed a few weeks of the sessions with him. On my note when i checked back, out of 10 sessions i only felt good twice. So tis time when i go back for acute sprained / twist he refused to check me only ask his staff kit to check me then straight away offered me packages, which of coz i refused! However some of them dont even encourage packages.. I have a slip disc, I have been to a few chiros and physios. My first year , I have spent about RM 10K on treatments. They say you have to do this and that and make sure to visit them weekly (minimum) . Basically, chiropractors are still few, many are foreigners. They mainly cater to middle upper to upper income levels. Chiropractors are not covered by insurance. Now you know why chiros earn BIG BUCKS.Lower income people are have not much choices but to go to 'urut', Chinese physios, or just bear with the pain. Fortunately, IMU has opened up a Community Centre which charges reasonable. https://www.facebook.com/IMU-Community-Cent...40341636156055/ Hopefully there are more of these as many people do need affordable chiro services. Now, I have my pain under control by going to gym (RM 150+ per month) and plus average 1 adjustment ( RM 50+) monthly. Plus occasional massage, I think I do not spent more than RM 300 monthly to control my back pain and I am fitter and healthier. |

Have anyone tried ss2 premier / corrective chiro at gamuda walk kota kemuning ricky lau?
Ss2 premier was recommended by my friend however i understand he is not much of a talker. But he managed to help my fren in her sciatic pain. Where else ricky lau so far i didnt get any review as none that i know seen him yet. I recently talked abt him to my fren n she went to see him for d first time she said he is a nice guy as he really spent time with her , an hour explanining n examined thoroughly before performing d adjustment. Any comments / reviews? Price wise both r reasonable to me. Ss2 rm100 first time rm80 subsequent. (Diversified / general) Kk rm200 first time rm95 subsequent (more to gonstead + corrective measure) |

I've been going to Dr Michiko Liew in MyPrecision Chiropractic in Seri Petaling. Pure gonstead style and apparently she's registered under the Australian Gonstead Chiropractic list or something like that.
Anyway, I popped my shoulder and she managed to give me back my full range of motion in 2 sessions when before that I could barely lift my arm to shoulder height. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Sorry to heard that your treatment did not go well and agree with you that the patient should offer the payment on per visit basis before commit any package treatment. I guess the treatment result is differed depending on individual case. For our case, he did ask for the x-ray in Sunway Hospital to confirm that there is defect in the spine system although he was quite confident there is something wrong based on his manual checking. We also ask for payment on per visit basis, but was told that the price would be a lot more expensive than packaged treatment. Kit is the new Staff? Why you still go back to DMC when yourself are not happy with the result? You should opt for Dr Ian as you appear to trust him more. Do wish you find a better doctor. |

I go to him bcz of acute injury, for my twisted knee which he did helped me in my back before. Dr ian is in australia for your info. If he is here i'd definitely see him for sure. My fren had made an app with dr ian his earliest slot is next yr may. Kit is d newly graduated imu student whom mike hired Sorry to heard that your treatment did not go well and agree with you that the patient should offer the payment on per visit basis before commit any package treatment. Well michiko is not too bad. She is quite sincere as well. Willing to help n admitting to her inability to help as my case is a little more complicated compare to other patients. And that she will refer me to ian or other australian chiros when they come over to msia for a visit at her clinic.
Tis is what i like about a person's attitude. Altho a newbie with knowledge n skills at d same time also admitting to mistakes n incapability if unable to. Wont simply waste patient's $$ and time. I did recommend some patients to her as well. And that their feedback was alright so far. Unfortunately im one of the abnormal one 😭 which needed sifu level to help perhaps.. Last time i went to a chiro at kuchai lama, dr chong he is good however he has passed away alrdy last yr. what a pity. He has a good heart n skills too. His adjustments r pretty gentle n natural, very smooth. QUOTE(Steven_aka_G @ Dec 26 2015, 03:53 PM) I've been going to Dr Michiko Liew in MyPrecision Chiropractic in Seri Petaling. Hi. Got sciatica from S5-L1 herniated disc. went for steroid jab & the pain came back after a week. Now start feeling numb on my right toes. considering for chiro now:
based on my location, there are 3 chiros nearby: 1. Back in Motion @The Curve. 2. Chiropractic First Group - Centrepoint BU. 3. Life Chiropractic Centre - Damansara Perdana. Any review on quality & rates from the 3 above? Thanks. |

Just went to TAGS in Seremban.
Got free screening test (Year end discount) - Went visit 2 times for screening test for free. Usually need to pay around RM96 for each appointment. After completed my screening session, they quote me package that I need for my back pain issue. Total of RM9124. In that package, I need to attend 3 types of package. a) Decompression therapy system (DTS) - 24 session. b) Physical therapy - 24 session c) Rehabilitation - 24 session All this within 3-4 months based on my availability/ commitment. In dilemma. Maybe I need to survey another place. This post has been edited by zulwaqar: Jan 21 2016, 11:44 AM |

I went to Cheras Business Centre Chiropractor called Complete Chiropractor (03-9131 2549). first time cost RM120 (if not mistaken), subsequent charges would be RM80 for 30 minutes session.

My treatment cost 3.3k 12* Chiro (plus 2 foc) 24* Physiotherapy (plus 4 foc) Dragged my back problems for too many years, regretting why I didn't seek treatment earlier. The thing is, even without actually getting injured, many (especially urban) people have back pain one way or another, due to lifestyle. Getting enough exercise, good posture and getting a 'crack' once a while from the chiro is good. But many of these centres wants your $$$, they'll tell you all the packages that you may not really need, tie you down long term. BTW, do remember to used up all your treatment in 12 months, if not they'll forfeit it. Just treat your physiotherapy sessions as personal training session. If you got a pretty/handsome therapist, then considered it a BONUS |

Something like this. |

Came back from TAGS Cheras, met with Dr Riva. Very professional guy, I have some wrist problems and tailbone pain. He checked both and gave me advice on what he can do.
He suggested Shockwave therapy for my wrist and asked me to think about it as it's quite costly (RM300+ per treatment) and gave me alternative ways to strengthen my wrist/forearms For my tailbone, he suggested Individual chiropractic sessions at RM 111.30 each (No package as he thinks its a small problem). First session started right away, he aligned my back and it feels much better now. Will be returning this saturday. Again, RM111.30 for each session. |

Have you given Bowen technic a try? There's one in KL now. Somewhere near the Curve. You can look her up: My Bowen Therapy.
Cheaper than chiropractic and gentler. The lady who runs it is Lorna Mair from the UK. |

QUOTE(map @ Feb 7 2009, 06:05 PM) oh hello hello hi. did they have any website or fb that i can contact themso i went to the chiropractor in klang, the first visit is rm130 and the subsequent visit is rm100 i guess they charge depending on the severity of your case. i got diagnosed with scolisis T_T so during the first visit the doc already pressed on my muscles and cracked too many bones (so bloody pain! i cried ok!), and then they put me on this massage machine and then stuck electrodes on to my back. after that the nurse taught me basic daily exercises i have to do, even teaching me a special method of getting up from my bed anyway it was rm130 for 2 hours first visit. * they also have this package to help you save money : rm1k - 12 visits rm2k - 26 visits rm3k - 40 visits rm4k - 56 visits but i'm on the fence about it, so i'll go do some research before i commit first p/s the doc is from usa |

Would be best to wait a bit till she's feeling much better from the surgery. When she can walk, that would be a good indication that she's ready for chiropractic. Did she undergo operation for both knees?still can go after recovery of operation? |

http://theonechiropractic.com/ and http://www.lifechiropractic.com.my/ i have no experience and idea at all about chiropractic but i want to try it out.. any other recommendation in perai/bukit mertajam area? went to one chiro clinic in Taman Semarak BM, the doc ady retired.. for those that had experience in chiropractic, regardless doc or patient that undergone/undergoing recovery.. i got back pain at just above my buttock area, and i cant jog for more than 10 mins or more than 1km, otherwise the pain would be so severe that i have to stop and unable to stand... and for plain walking, if i walk fast like in a hurry, my shin would starting to pain...if i keep walking, i will start to lose muscle control of my foot....if i keep walking again, feel start to feel numb... if this occasion related to back pain or nerves related? |

Hi everyone.
I have had this problem of back pain while driving more than 1 hour or sitting for long period during meetings. I previously did not have this problem. Working in Penang and appreciate any reputable chiropractor in Penang. Thanks |

QUOTE(terence8 @ Jul 5 2016, 02:22 PM) dear all, i plan to pay a visit to the chiro but i live in sunway area. any good one around this area? and what are the charges? thanks There is a really good place called Spineworks (previously The Spinal Joint) on 10th floor Empire Soho Subang. I've been seen by both Dr. Barry and Dr. Jennyfer. While they are both excellent, because Dr. Barry is always booked full he doesn't spend as much time and detail as Dr. Jennyfer. If I am not wrong, first visit is RM120 and subsequent visits RM100. I used to have a lot of back problems but they've done some miracle work, especially Dr. Jennyfer. Highly recommended! |

QUOTE(citiranger @ Mar 2 2016, 05:51 PM) I called myself 'victim' and not victim, basically it depends on how they advise you. sorry for resurrecting your own post. I went to a chiro and the doctor said i need 36 session to adjust my neck. Based on the X-Ray, my neck is bending forward which mean they need to adjust it backward to gain the 'C-shape'. But the question is, does it really need up to 36 sessions? It is something like 3 times a week.

That way, you are committed to them long term, it makes business sense to them.Chiropractors are very common in other countries, here.... they seem to be premium service, so they CHARGE like mad. Many companies also hire Foreigners so they get to charge more. But overall, prices are coming down. Now, if you ask me, (don't get offended bro) many people are not getting enough exercise and we are constantly slouching looking at smartphones. I'm too, but now I try to be aware of it, and constantly stretches. I have spent alot, I can only advise those who want cheaper and effective treatment. What I am doing is called pain management.... |

Am thinking to bring my X ray to normal GP and see what they talk from other perspective than Chiro (Don't get offended) You might have posture problem, and if you are in 20s or 30s. When you're older, it would be more difficult to remedy. If you have time to spare, go to IMU Community Centre in S.Park Desa Petaling. It is RM 45.00 not inclusive GST. Tell them it is your first time, they have to ask alot of question. Bring your Xray. Ask to see Dr Quin Pee, you may think she's has little experience. I find her very good in fixing neck. (I can tell you by experience cos I have been treated by many chiros) Usually I go get cracked by her like once a month or so (pain management). Bonus: She's cute |

That way, you are committed to them long term, it makes business sense to them. Actually not all chiros in Malaysia practice the "package" style. It all depends on the area (high-class/expat area at Hartamas would logically cost more), and the style of practice (the more hardsell the business practice usually means more expensive).Chiropractors are very common in other countries, here.... they seem to be premium service, so they CHARGE like mad. There are pros and cons about packages. Its easy to pinpoint the chiro and say that the clinic is business-minded and wants to buy your long-term commitment by selling you a thousand dollar package, but what most people fail to understand is that chiro treatments are not one or two-time treatments, some patients may require 6-8 visits, some may require 12-16 visits for full recovery and it all depends on the patient's condition. However, the mindset of most people is that if they get better after 2-3 visits, they wouldn't return for further visits anymore as they think that they've recovered. But since their condition hasn't fully resolved yet, their pain would return after awhile, and they would mistakenly think that chiropractic didn't help them, but in truth, it is the patient who didn't finish his entire course of treatments. It's akin to a person who is prescribed a 7-day antibiotic course but he stops after the third day as he feels that he has recovered, but in fact, he hasn't. But of course, the cons about packages is that it doesn't guarantee that you'll recover in xx amount of sessions. What if you don't recover in 36 sessions? Are you gonna ask for a refund? Packages actually pose an ethical dilemma in such cases. Personally, I don't sell packages because of this ethical dilemma. But I try to help my patients understand that it requires time for recovery, and not just 2-3 times I would be able to fix their issue. |

Graduate chiros are being assigned (maybe it is their internship) to Desa Petaling. I haven't seen students. Imagine spending RM100++ every week (at least), and non insurance claimable, and non tax deductable (I just put in la, if Income Tax want to see, I show them the Invoices). you Most (not all bro) chiro will tell you after overcoming the pain stage, you must sign up their physio packages. And most of these treatments can only be undergone during office hours. Now for a layman, how many will have enough MC and leaves to go through this. It happened to me, that's why I'm sharing it here. I also know many not well to do with back pain will only take pain killers or go for injections when the pain comes back. |

I merely suggest alternative pain management:
Gym membership (now tax deductable) and don't go for the super fancy expensive one la. Visit to local chiro (RM45-120) once a month to get adjusted. For those who can afford it, by all means sign up those packages. Those chiro and staffs also need to makan one. |

Yeah, I'm a chiropractor myself, but at the same time, I try to see from a consumer/patient's perspective that it is difficult to cough up a few thousand for a "package" or an obscene amount for a pay-per-visit, hence I price my treatment charges are as reasonable as possible. I feel the pain too when I sign-up for a gym membership and they try to sell me a 12-month package for over Rm1k whereas discourage me from doing monthly payments which costs significantly more. While patients mindset needs to be changed, Clinics should also know not everyone can afford Packages that cost Bomb if not a Grenade. As for patients' mindset, honestly, I always believe it's the doctor's responsibility to educate them (that it takes more than a one treatment to recover). I don't think we should shove a thousand dollar package down their throat just to buy their commitment. Use education to secure a commitment, not their wallet. As for physiotherapy, it is my opinion that chiropractors really should leave that aside. If you look back into the history of chiropractic, we didn't work much with physios, because it is the chiropractic adjustment that fixed the problem. The entrance of physios into the domain of chiropractic is very recent, and of course, as you've guessed it, an additional income source for the clinic. The chiropractic adjustment alone can already do wonders, and if need be, chiros should refer patients out for physio, and not just refer EVERY single patient to a physio. Actually there are a few chiropractic clinics which open up till late at night, you just need to look for it. For me, I work till late nights (8-9pm) two to three days a week. |

I been going to Green Chiro in Old Klang Road in 2015 but and stopped in 2016 after my back feels well. Also partly i feel 120 per visit is abit expensive. But now it seems to start again and i wonder if i chiro can actually stop this recurring pain or do we constantly need to go permanently ?
Should i change my chiropractic ? |

But now it seems to start again and i wonder if i chiro can actually stop this recurring pain or do we constantly need to go permanently ? The price you pay depends on the location of the clinic (a more affluent place would more likely be more expensive), and also the quality of service provided.Should i change my chiropractic ? Actually chiropractic treatments are supposed to be on-going, meaning to say, after recovery, you should still be visiting your chiropractor every once now and then periodically to manage your condition. So for your case that you've felt much better, treatment frequency should be reduced, so yes, you would still need to visit your chiropractor, just that it would be less often. As to answer your question on changing your chiropractor, only you can answer this question yourself as every individual's experience with their chiropractor is different. I often tell my patients that if a chiropractor doesn't seem to be helping their condition, that doesn't mean chiropractic doesn't work, but they should look for another chiropractor. |

For the benefit for all, I think it would be interesting to know that only Allianz provides alternative treatment claims post hospitalisation. Chiropractic is one of these alternative treatment.

I'm diagnosed with mild sclerosis with PA erect to the right. There are two curves; one is behind my neck and another one in the middle of back abdomen. Most of the time I'm having muscle pain behind my neck and backache. I need to differed from attending current semester but the reason can be only sickness and natural disaster. I've called few places that provides scoliosis treatment but they are not medical officers. In my guidelines for withdrawal from semester, one of if stated: the period of withdrawal shall be counted as part of the maximum period of candidature except where the reason for such withdrawal is based on medical grounds and supported by medical report from a registered medical officer.
Which most of the clinics I've called only have physio/chiropractic grads. Anyone know where I can get one? Thanks! |

What you can probably do is to go to your regular family doctor and get a referral letter referring you to a chiropractor. That itself would be sufficient grounds for a medical report by a registered medical officer. Chiropractors can also write a detailed medical report (but usually this is used for insurance claims purposes), with the duration and protocol of treatment is listed in detail, as a prove to show how long you would be seeking treatment.Which most of the clinics I've called only have physio/chiropractic grads. Just curious, whoever that was, can't s/he write a medical report supporting your deferment? This post has been edited by citiranger: Apr 17 2017, 04:29 PM |

I've been suffering from back pains intermittently...usually from over straining. I find only TCM has worked so far. Anyone has any ideas if going to a chiropractor is better?

QUOTE(SabunDettol @ Dec 20 2017, 09:47 PM) My upper back hurts like hell, i feel like my nerves are in a tight knot and something is pulling it, even when lifting a hand can sometimes hurt so bad, when i sleep at night it hurts really bad to shift from one side to the other. I went to 3 different style of massage therapy but none could fix it. Someone suggested that i should see a chiropractor so here i am asking if what I'm suffering needs a fix by a chiropractor. I would suggest looking for a orthopedic doctor instead who can then refer you to a physiotherapist. Your occupation means that you are sitting long hours in one position and that could lead to fatigue and stiffness of muscles.FYI, I'm a full-time grab driver so i drive long hours. I am 99% sure whatever I'm suffering right now is due to the long hours of driving. The pains been going on for a week now. I don't exercise regularly but do simple stretches early in the morning before i head out. If there's any chiropractor in here, do you feel i should go see one? Is there a chiropractor that offers free 1st time consultation because i don't want to pay so much if my back still hurts afterwards. I'm in KL btw, from damansara to be specific but i don't mind going anywhere around KL and it's surrounding area so long it's in KL and Selangor.. and affordable ofcourse 😁 |

Need advice, during my schooling days i used to play softball, and the action of throwing the ball actually caused pain to my shoulder joints. Even till today (after 10 years), i will feel the pain after some badminton session. usually can this be fixed by a chiro in 1 / 2 sessions and without signing up for a package? Usually how much does it cost per session?

Anyone knows what's the cost of physiotherapy per session in private hospitals nowadays? I'm having some pelvic tilting problems and would like to seek advice. I've been to Sunway Medical Centre for other specialists so far it's around RM100 without medications, is it the same for their rehab centre?

Might have to go to a chiropractor instead if I wanted to use company medical benefits. 300 is expensive and no medication. |

QUOTE(map @ Jan 12 2009, 11:50 AM) i think i have a back bone problem, bcos i can only sleep when my body is curved, usually by the start of the morning i'm curled up like a pretzel already You can try the new Chiropractic/physiotherapy center in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Advanced Spine and Disc in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. (ASD) #4 Jalan Telawi, Bangsar. Initial consultation is only RM125 and even cheaper if you buy a package or start treatment the same day. They have 3D non surgical Decompression machines. Also the best physiotherapy machines. They treat any musculoskeletal condition and even Scoliosis. They get rid of pain quickly. www.asdmalaysia.com or advancedspineanddisc@outlook.comwhen i sit i need to put my feet up otherwise i keep shifting my position too anyway, so i'm intending to visit a chiropractor, but i was wondering if anyone knows how much the consultation fees cost? I've sprained my ankle about 6 years ago. Had no problem with walking and running. But I notice my gait is unnatural , my foot seemed to be misaligned with my knee. So is Chiro a good option?
And which Chiro in KL is best for such cases? |

Look for my chiropractor Deon Lee, he is the senior chiropractor at Sunway Geo branch. They practices Gonstead Technique, I have to take x ray before starting with treatment |

Perhaps that the reason why Chiropractor was not recognized by the medical field list as Physiotherapy. If we can follow the rules of the strict exercises schedules by a Physiotherapy. We can relieve our pain at no time. Instantly of hiring someone to have done the job for us only. Furthermore, we can do the Physiotherapy exercises in the comfort of our home without any addiction bill to pay for. |

QUOTE(Captain1 @ Aug 24 2018, 09:52 PM) Readers beware that X-ray are known cause of cancer. technically a spine could not be twist back as some chiro do claim. actually, a chiro will do is only strengthen our muscle to have a better support for our spinal and relief of the pain. after trying out some treatment with the chiro. Is a disappointment, what they do concern of is your next appointment. I prefer to go back to the physiotherapy for treatment. I use to have acute pain from my lower right back until my toe. I hardly can stand straight or even walk and have a sleepless nightmare. but after attending a physiotherapy treatment for a week the pain was gone. NOTE: but only 90% cure, once in a while there will be a recurrence. i suggest i must be lazy to have followed up with what the physio strict advice exercises we must do at home.Spine is not like other bones/ joints. Can you snap a spine back into place? What if it snap and breaks ? So find a good and experience chiro and take up a few sessions. |

QUOTE(albertteh @ Aug 24 2018, 10:24 PM) technically a spine could not be twist back as some chiro do claim. actually, a chiro will do is only strengthen our muscle to have a better support for our spinal and relief of the pain. after trying out some treatment with the chiro. QUOTE(Captain1 @ Aug 25 2018, 10:25 PM) Keep your physio going. Thanks, I'm getting better with following up with the physio strict schedule advice to exercise at home in time. (One hour of exercises in the morning and night). Least will not have cost me a bomb to have to pay a visit to a chiro anyway. Yes, you are right, there is an alternative treatment. But where again? There was a great tit tar master at Setiawan Perak before. He doesn't care where is your pain form when he inspects our spine just a few pinches at the back of our spinal and you re-cure. Furthermore, you don't need to have to pay for the second visit if you re not cured. Unfortunately, this Master is not around anymore. There are alternative (to chiro and physio) but only for those willing to change. Hope you feel better soon. |

Most were from the corporate clinic which looks for making a profit only. Perhaps you should have look for a place where the founder will attend to you personally than their trainee to done the job. A chiro may be too expensive to try. Thou a physio may help us to have reduced the pain but not 100% cure. Useless we follow the strict schedule exercises for the rest of our life. i went to osteo care in ss2 for my ankle and they just cincai finish the job. pain is still same like before and this is 2nd treatment. |

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Aug 29 2018, 01:25 AM) I cannot say there are any (other than the late tit tar master in Perak) or recommend one to you. Everywhere we when for a treatment nowadays. Their first word we would hear is, they cannot promise that we are treatable. Some may even ask us to have signed up a consign letter. Look more like a black and white paper and we should bear the risk if anything goes wrong during the treatment. I took the risk to look out for new treatment in the urban area too. Unfortunately, it has cost me a small atomic bomb without any result. Like one of the US patient which told me, he didn't expect the treatment in Malaysia cost nearly like those in the US. He has sought out treatment in China, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam before. Anyway, if you don't mind to have taken the risk. You can try out a chiro who will personally attend to you just a few blocks away from where you seek for treatment. Best of luck. Hope will get well soon. |

RM 3220 for 8 treatments thats really expensive, I am paying RM 135 per session for mine which i thought its pretty steep. Where is this place? |

Even they could not cure us. |

Look like more chiropractors were promoting their services here than helping out to Lowyat members. From my experience with treatment, the best is we look for a Physio treatment first. It may take time for us to heel, but it worth the trouble. Cos a chiro will never end its treatments appointment and may have cost us a bomb with each same old treatment from rm 170 to rm230 per treatment.

I started going to chiropractic first at Centerpoint Bandar Utama. Its been 3 session so far but I did not feel any differences but I did not have a acute pain to start off just sore neck sometime.
Now for the price: 1 session is RM95 Package for 20 session is RM90 per session Package for 40 session is RM80 per session There is another package for 90 sessions but I forgotten the price. I will upload the document here. The total adjustment for which I need to go is 72 session spread over 9 months. The first 3 month will be 3 times a week, then 2nd 3months is 2 times and week and the last 3 months is 1 time a week. |

Chiro will temporary relief pain and sore, but they will come back depending on how serious your problem, could be your daily posture, habit or walking style. Depending, some chiros are after your $, especially Big ones. Alot of the current problems nowadays are bad habits, like too much Smart Phone Gaming, creating stiff necks. and also lack of proper exercise. Adjustments will not 'CURE'. My 2 sen only la.... Jangan marah ya. PS: I have been to quite a number of Chiro, if neck, this Chiro is quite good. Holistic Chiropractic & Wellness Center https://goo.gl/maps/gzYSWhR5DCK2 |

Fees are pretty standard for all chiros (think they have a schedule or something)Do you some how know how much they charge for a session? 1st Consultation usually around 200. Follow ups around 150. (or lower) Or you can sign packages that will make it comes from 80-120, you have to decide what's good for you. I used to spend 3-4 sessions a month for the 1st year. When I learned to manage my pain better, now I only go once in 1-2 months (for maintenance) and spend a little on gym membership. Average 250-300/month, I guess that's pretty ok, and I get to use a gym..... hahahaha (exercise and 'wash' my eyes too) |

You may proceed with the X-ray test and bring the result back to them for analysis and consultation. Certain amount fees is payable to the hospital.anyone have experience with DMC? how about the charges? After the consultation they like to suggest a package to you. It is up to you to accept it. Or you can said you need time to consider and bring the x Ray result to other chiropractic or doctors for second opinion. We need a good doctor who can cure our spine issue. Cost is secondary important IMO. |

Don't have any info on your issue but remember chiro deals with joints which in turn are held in place by muscles and fascia which is in the realm of physiotherapy. So any particular issue could be due to just joints or muscles or a combination of both. |

QUOTE(Cahya @ Feb 28 2019, 11:43 PM) Take things one step at a time... Do a consultation 1st. Depending on how the chiro/physio does the explanation., you can then decide to go ahead with treatment or look for 2nd opinion. Consultation usually not too expensive. Bring an xray if you feel your case is complicated. If your problem has been for some time, then you may need more than 1 session but getting over that 1st session is the biggest obstacle... better than surgery though! The chiro/physios also have some helpful therapeutic machines. Just don't feel pressured to buy packages though. |

I usually just google best chiropractor in kl and just start reading reviews from there. Do some research on various chiropractic clinics and pick one you're comfortable with. Also the price may vary anywhere from RM30 to RM200++ per session depending on how experienced the chiropractor is. I have a friend who receives chiropractic treatment for RM50+ per session in Kota Damansara, been a few months still going back. The one I went to uses a traditional method called the gonstead method. It's abit more pricey but my results says otherwise. The one I went to is Bewell chiropractic at Sunway. At the end of the day it's up to you though, choose who are you comfortable with. Don't be afraid to just inquire about their services.

Hi,
Kindly recommend a good value for money DORN therapy / gonstead method around KL area I check and mentioned therapy around RM4k and medicine around RM3k. Its just about correcting hip alingment. Strange part the practioner told even after the treatment may not 100% guarantee. In addition, any good shi shi master around KL area to tackle shoulder pain? Suspect maybe "urat lari" or "angin". Kindly advise. This post has been edited by kumario9: Apr 11 2019, 11:48 AM |

I also went to bewell at sunway and I saw their Principal Chiropractor Dr Michiko Liew. She is very professional and experienced. Only 3 sessions and my headache was solved. That’s explain why those high ratings and reviews on her I used to check all comments from lowyat forum before I visited them. Got to know that they changed name from my Precision Chiro to BeWell chiropractic. Not sure why. But anyway I am very satisfied with my chiropractor. And they have 2 outlets. One at sunway and another one at Sri Petaling. Easier for me since I stay at Puchong. |

I did my new x Ray at sunway medical center which is right opposite BeWell sunway branch. It is very clear resolution and affordable compared to what I did at BP lab last time when I visited other chiropractor. Would prefer to have my xray done there, and straight do first treatment if possible. Having a little bit of lower back pain front and side full spine view BP-RM400 Sunway medical center- RM199 X Ray could be quite troublesome. But it is much safer. And I like their ideas to find out root cause instead of simply cracking you here and there. First Visit at beWell is vary depend on which chiropractor you want to consult. Roughly about RM200-300. Hope it can help you. |

I went to Discover Chiropractic SS2. Dr Sean treated my lower back and neck problems. He is very honest in his work and really knowledgeable. Practising Gonstead adjustment technique and it is very precise and concise with his findings. Definitely the right place to go if u look for the best gonstead chiro in Malaysia. Try to YouTube the clinic's name and u will know about his work.

QUOTE(Jjzaozao @ Nov 28 2019, 01:57 AM) I went to Discover Chiropractic SS2. Looks like the feedbacks are not back, will give it a try.https://youtu.be/HCuPD7U1WjI |

If you're looking for one in PJ area, I recommend Kim's Chiropractic. Very friendly staff and super cozy centre.
Their treatment starts from RM110 for chiro and RM50 for physio. Consult is RM100 but waived if you start treatment. The staff also all female, very suitable for those aunties who are not so comfortable with male staff. ![]() |

I remember my MD friend told me that if an experienced dr or chiropractor wouldn't request to take X-ray for every patient, X-ray is not recommend to take more than 3 times a year. That's why my friend asked me to go to Abby Chiropractic Care to seek for consultation, because the chiropractor there was trained by a US chiropractor, very experienced and skillful.
The chiro will only ask you to take X-Ray if they suspect slip disc, or other bones problem, otherwise (eg: like alignment) they don't really recommend to take X-Ray. I experienced his skill, he won't keep asking you come back for follow up unless the case is very severe. Thank you Dr Chng |

The charges are RM65 to RM160 (included consultation, and it depends on your condition, i went there 3 times, 1st time RM145; 2nd time RM120 3rd time (new problem: I blow my back and sprain my ankle) RM125The chiro will only ask you to take X-Ray if they suspect slip disc, or other bones problem, otherwise (eg: like alignment) they don't really recommend to take X-Ray. I experienced his skill, he won't keep asking you come back for follow up unless the case is very severe. Thank you Dr Chng The doctor keep asking me to put ice pack and do exercises provided at home. Follow up is because want to see my condition whether it got any improvement. |

Personally I prefer not to get tie up with the packages
Don’t like the doctor just move on to other chiropractors |

QUOTE(map @ Jan 12 2009, 11:50 AM) i think i have a back bone problem, bcos i can only sleep when my body is curved, usually by the start of the morning i'm curled up like a pretzel already Better do MRI to check your situation more details. I do chiropractic, yumeiho and zamathera for back bonewhen i sit i need to put my feet up otherwise i keep shifting my position too anyway, so i'm intending to visit a chiropractor, but i was wondering if anyone knows how much the consultation fees cost? |

Well, chiro didn’t work for me. Please be aware, they want you to pay in advance for 10 sessions. I paid and they don’t make effort to fix. I just lost $. So be careful when you pay up front.

QUOTE(SupermanLick @ Feb 19 2025, 11:22 PM) This is a wide spread practice among manicure pedicure shops: 10 session coupons. Established clinics and hospitals never have this practice. This post has been edited by Just2centslah: Feb 20 2025, 10:37 AM |
