I have a question, does the Malaysian Ministry of Health allows the "Doctor" title to be used by chiropractors in Malaysia?

I have the following arguments regarding this matter that needs to explained:

I quote -
QUOTE
The term Doctor is applied to a medical doctor (holder of an MBBS or equivalent qualification) or a phD doctor. Practitioners of "alternative medicine" be they chiropractors, sinsehs, bomohs, auyervedics and what-not should not use the title "Doctor" as this would mislead the public into thinking they have undergone mainstream medical training and have an MBBS qualification.
- source: http://medicine.com.my/2004_10_01_mmrarchive.html

I quote from MMC:
QUOTE

profesion-profesion lain

I quote again:

QUOTE
Gilbey finds that the abuse of the title doctor is widespread and that chiropractors are the main culprits. An amazing 82% of 146 chiropractics used the title Doctor, andL most of them used the title to imply falsely that they were registered medical practitioners.

Any chiropractors around? please explain.

Ministry of Health Malaysia certainty don't allow chiropractors to put "DR." title in front of their names.

However, in USA, Canada, Australia, UK..etc.  Most countries which recognizes chiropractors do allow the title "DR."

As you are practicing in Malaysia and as per Ministry of Health regulations regarding this matter:

Why do you still use the "Dr" title in front of your name (as seen in the website above)?

Did you remind your patient not to call you "Dr" as it will create confusion?

What do you call people who have PhDs? Fake doctors?

A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is not the same as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) which is also not the same as a Medical Doctor (MD)

Going against the law??  I am not sure what you are talking about.  No one here is going against the law.  When we practice in Malaysia, we follow the MOH guideline here.  In USA, the same.

Added on May 4, 2010, 9:08 pmA foreign chiropractor coming to Malaysia to practise must be registered with the Ministry of Health, and we must have all the right qualification in order to register.  Once we have the approval letter from the MOH, only the work permit will be given by the immigration.

Against the law?  when you are working in this country without a work permit, that's against the law!

See this as well, perhaps you will come to understand:

Daniel David Palmer (Founder of Chiropractic) says and I quote:

"A subluxated vertebra . . . is the cause of 95 percent of all diseases. . . . The other five percent is caused by displaced joints other than those of the vertebral column." - (From: Palmer D.D. The Science, Art and Philosophy of Chiropractic. Portland, Oregon: Portland Printing House Company, 1910.)

... That is of course is stupid~
