what wheel are you using? perhaps it is too small? are you using the wodent wheel?
my current syrian hamster never liked running in his wodent wheel( i know, ITS WEIRD!)...But all my other hamster loved running in those wodent wheels!
so, what i do nowadays is just give him more ball-time...and now i thought of weaning him into a open-wheel(such as Comfort wheel) and see if it works.

The wheel that comes with the Ovo is too small for syrians. Syrians requires at least 8 inch wheel.

You can still use the current wheel if your syrian is still small. But replace it with a bigger wheel as it the small wheel will cause their backs to have problems due to long term use.

Because the rust taste salty and the hammy likes the taste. Better change to a tank as the rust will poison the hammy.

Very hard to get Aspen bedding in KL and Subang. What about other bedding like BC or the Oxbow bedding? Both very good.

And no it's not a good idea to keep the male and the female together as the male will try to mate again.
