if you plan to use bootcamp i tihnk you better keep it on one partition coz bootcamp doesnt like more than one partition in the hard disk

bummer... a quick search reveals that this is true.

and I intend to use Bootcamp. Unless there's a better alternative?
I can't live with having my data files and OS in the same partition. Potential disaster awaiting to happen. (Although I regularly backup to an external HD)
If the filesystem somehow gets screwed, there goes that partition. My research also indicates Journaled HFS+ isn't particularly a very reliable filesystem. NTFS is in fact actually better (blame windows instead for corrupting files).
So no compromise; my data has to be in a separate partition.
Someone apparently discovered how to get two HFS+ partitions and a bootcamp partition working with OSX and Windows:
http://forums.macworld.com/thread/89236?start=15&tstart=0I hope this works. A bare minimum of two HFS+ partitions is workable for me... one partition for OS and Progs, the other for my data.
I still need two NTFS partitions for the Windows side again though. I wonder if it'll work that way.
Still more research needs to be done...
Are there any equally good alternatives to bootcamp that would enable me to have multiple HFS+ partitions as well as multiple NTFS partitions?
EDIT:
found more links on having two HFS+ paritions with bootcamp:

And I found that I can have more than one partition for my windows side...

On a side note, when oh when will ZFS filesystem be implemented to the Mac OS? It seems that Snow Leopard still won't have it. It will be a welcome addition to many. HFS+ is primitive already.
