rm 148 is a good price compare to spore eh? biggrin.gif

bro i don think tat a good idea.. double protection jz will make the mbp ventilation bcome more worse...
after i apply the skin on my mbp, i get 2 times black screen of death adi while playing games, the heat dispersion on the bottom is kinda blocked by the skin.. b4 i apply the skin, i nv hv this prob, even while gaming..

bro, better don apply two together, sure will make ur mbp easily overheat...

hapa, i dun see how it would block ventilationi
alumimum is used to disperse the heat through the material itself n not through ventilation, i thnk biggrin.gif
*
sorry sorry, wat i mean is act the aluminum body itself not the air ventilation hole behind mbp... the skin cover up the bottom mbp, cause the heat unable to disperse thru bottom alu...

It may not kill it, but it degrades its heat dispersal efficiency. Your fans will work harder to disperse the heat via convection from the vents due to the trapped heat unable to excape from your wrapped Macbook.

People complain that their MBPs are hot when put on the lap while they work on them, but that heat, IMO, is good, because it is a good sign that your unibody shell is WORKING in conducting the heat using the unibody shell to the surroundings. Just make sure the "surrounding" here  is not your delicate thighs/skin. The heat conduction from the metal shell will convect to the volume of air around the shell, and with moving air (either house fan or air conditioning) moving this convected hot air away, the continuous cycle of cooling air helps bring the temperature down.

You see, heat is not a problem to those in temperate countries in the US or Europe, so InvisibleShield works for them without detrimental effects. Here in the tropics, it is already hot and stuffy, and you want to wrap your already hot and stuffy MBP with more stuffier material? Imagine wearing leather jackets in Malaysia, that is how your MBP is feeling right now.

agree... wasted rm100.. lol...

marks i dun think so
are u using ur mbp under air conditioned environment?
*
yes.. when gaming (air conditioned environment)
the heat goes up too fast bcoz of weaker heat dispersion cause by the skin and fan speed goes up very slow.. maybe should use smcfancontrol to set the fan speed to 4000rpm b4 start gaming.

What do you use your MBP for then, rx330?

Not just for gaming, any graphic or processor intensive application will result in the need for proper heat dispersal. Your wrapped Mac will feel it when that happens.

Wouldn't a Macbook Pro be an overkill if all that you do are those things? I assume "work-related stuff" means spreadsheets and word processing, so those wont kill or stress the processor, or the graphic card for that matter. A Macbook would already suffice.
Yes I have. 1920x1200, all options turned maximum/high. Framerates stays at 30fps no matter what, the game forces it.
*
ok.. that cool rclxms.gif even 1920x1200 still can all high... yep, max only 30fps..
mine with 1200 x 800 also cant maxxed out sweat.gif

Hi!
I'm new here.
I've been considering getting a mac for a while now. But something has been bugging me. Its the Performance-to-price ratio.
The mac i've been considering is the macbook 13'' unibody(which is 4799)
The thing is, on my way to the Apple store, i saw this acer notebook at 4499 but with 90gb more hd space, a 9600m GT, "Blu-Ray"!!!, and a 16'' full hd screen.

I intend to make this a desktop replacement so i'm asking whether the macbook would be worth it?
*
as u are making this a desktop replacement, then i would say go for acer...

yes, the battery life suk, but as a desktop replacement, does it matter??

yes, screen suk too, mostly bcoz of the viewing angle, but it still a HD and 16:9 ratio screen, good for watching video huh??
yes, bluray seem useless if u seldom buy bluray disc... but why jz think it as a extra feature?? more future proof huh??

For a desktop replacement i will go for higher spec and larger screen. Performance to price ratio, i think u adi noe the answer smile.gif

acer is a crap?? haha, maybe... i'm own a acer lappy b4 too, go for hospital once, bcoz of mobo overheat.. Is a human mistake, i leave it on bed when i'm playing game , lol...
as long as u take care of your gadget, i dont think it will easily spoil la... why everyone saying tat mac quality is better?? yes, maybe bcoz we are paying premium price, but 1 thing for sure is tat u will pay more attention on ur mac, clean it everyweek, move it carefully, protect it with skin, hard case and bla bla bla...

Last, and the most important... OSX!!!

jz my opinion la bro, tat ur money, u hv to decide urself.. all we can do jz gc opinion..

hapa,

how's the heat of your mbp now..? did you remove your skin..? or just remove the bottom part..?
the representative from zagg told me that it is totally safe to apply the skin and they never came across any overheating cases..  blink.gif
really confused here whether to apply the skin or simply ask for a refund.. (the skin hasnt arrive yet btw)  rclxub.gif

nop, i didnt remove the skin...
wat i always do when gaming is, start the game, on the game menu, leave it for about 10min then only start play the game. To make the fan spin up b4 gaming, if not u will get black screen of death coz the temp goes up too fast..
