QUOTE(devil_nick87 @ Jan 30 2009, 03:03 AM) Type of camera/lens/accesories : Digital compact camera 1,500 is a tough price point in my opinion. Have a Ixus but after having a DSLR, the Ixus sure looks bad for the price. I was also looking at that price point before and narrowed it down to Panasonic LX-3 and Canon G10 but found a cheaper DSLR ... so rest is history. The G10 is a very nice PnS (but beyond 1,500). Why not consider a RM999 FujiFilm f100d?Budget: around RM1500 ( i want the best out of my money ) Your Location: Shah Alam/Subang Jaya Preferable brand : Canon Type of photography u want to do : All types Any specific models in mind? : Suggest me Any specific features u want? : - hi all, i'm planning to get a digicam as a birthday gift to my friend... but i'm not so familiar with digital compact camera since i'm using DSLR... can anyone suggest me which one is the best with my budget? |

QUOTE(Ejay @ Jan 30 2009, 02:40 PM) Does D60 offer more feature than A200 ? Whats the main different between this 2 model ? Can u let me know the exact price of this 2 model ? my way to select ... he heh heh ...Look like D60 > A200 , might go for it . (1) What are the majority of your friends who are into DSLRs using ... get the same so that maybe can borrow their lens (2) If #1 is unknown or none, then go to shop and hold the camera, take a few shots and see if the ergonomics is suitable for you and also whether it feels good (to you, don't let salesman talk) (3) If #1 and #2 also fail, then look at price vs feature lorh ... IMHO, most entry level DSLR gives about same picture quality, it is mainly how you use it ... (BTW, I went against #1, didn't really do #2 and did #3 only |

Can u let me know the exact price of this 2 model ? people choose Nikon more because it is an established brand while Sony is a new player. for me i will take A200, because of the built in Image Stabilizer and because of its nice design(nikon is ugly because they got shiny2 part at the model label and at the shutter button, very china-made look). you can also consider A300.Look like D60 > A200 , might go for it . |

Can u let me know the exact price of this 2 model ? again, as a newbie in dlsrs, let's try to look at things in a neutral perspective. it has been discussed over n over again on 1000d vs d60 vs a200/300. all cameras hav their pros n cons. i'll jus list them down again .Look like D60 > A200 , might go for it . d60, rm1900 pros: Af assist lamp(good for low lighting). active dlightning, incamera post processing. cons: 3AF points, only works with AF-S/I lenses. Image stabiliser on lense(only VR) - not exactly a cons, just a different way of implementing Image quality= subjective, some may disagree that the nikon produces a too 'vivid' color, making it a bit fake and cartoonish. again, it's subjective A200, rm1450 Pros: 9AF points, Built in image stabilizer(works with any lenses),longer battery life, built in motor @body Cons: slightly higher noise @ >ISO800, no biggie as it's not noticeable on normal printouts, unless if u really wanna find fault with it by zooming in a particular area Image quality= again subjective, some agreed(even from nikonians) that sony produces much better, softer and accurate color saturation. Comparing apple to apple, no doubt sony a200 gives a better price to performance/feature ratio. rm450 is a BIG difference Again, the best is to go to a shop and test all the cameras to see which fits u better. In the end i opted for A200(no fanboyism), i like to look things at a neutral ground. try reading reputable reviews/user inputs. i find www.dcresource.com is good QUOTE(fixitfixit @ Jan 30 2009, 03:15 PM) people choose Nikon more because it is an established brand while Sony is a new player. for me i will take A200, because of the built in Image Stabilizer and because of its nice design(nikon is ugly because they got shiny2 part at the model label and at the shutter button, very china-made look). you can also consider A300. not to forget, Sony is not a totally new company to dslr, they bought over Konica Minolta, which every1 knows was a pioneer in DSLR before canon/nikon came inThis post has been edited by kucingfight: Jan 30 2009, 03:50 PM |

Sony bought over KM, they did not establish it and develop the technologies themselves, whereas Canon & Nikon did it on their own. Who gets more experience then? Same case: If I buy a Ferrari, does it mean that I'm a professional racing driver? No. I personally don't like brand wars, so I won't continue on. Has anyone thought of things this way? Sony bought over KM, their technology, their staff, their buildings. Nothing has changed except for the Management. So in essence it's still KM technology with a Sony badge. The only thing that makes a difference is RnD, something which Canon and Nikon are very aggressive in, and that's where Sony falls behind. |

QUOTE(kucingfight @ Jan 30 2009, 04:40 PM) not really. A300 burst mode is faster than A350. A300 is 3fps while A350 is 2.5fps. continuous burst mode is important for fast action shooting. if youre just doing macro and potrait its both the same camera i guess. plus keep in mind 14mp and 10mp not much different if youre not gonna pixel peep or print out your photos |
