Between those brands, at 1k, I would go for the W-series Sony instead of the T-series. Furthermore, you mentioned 1k, and the T700 is much more than that. However, at 1k, the best buy IMO is the fuji f100fd going for RM999/- at the moment.

For best shuttle quality, I would suggest getting a Yonex Aerosensa 2 Tournament Grade. smile.gif
Ok srsly,
I dont think you should get a second hand d70. Either get a new D80 or the D60. The D70 kinda outdated sad.gif

ooo... basically how much diff the price of D60 and D80...

and also the functionality...

If you're just looking for a good camera to shot photos, they both do the same thing.
The D80 is still more expensive than the D60, I find that its more expensive pricing worth it =/ At least more worth it that the 450D over the 1000d. =D

Trust me, no one brand is more "economical" in the long run.
Once you've commited to investing in lenses, you'd bound to be spending a lot of money on lenses and other what-nots.

well, as a beginner, depends whether you have been vaccinated from the poison. if you think you have some immunity to the poison, then lens would not be a big issue and when you are no longer a beginner (means you understand all the different lenses and what they can do for you), then I guess upgrading to something else may be in the works. so, don't worry too much ...

i would suggest, what are your friends using? ikut saje ... (but i personally went for the A200 even when non of my friends are using Sony and majority are Nikon with a few Canon users)

Hello guys!
Sorry for the late reply. Have been traveling everywhere and no time to access the Internet tongue.gif

I am now at Vietnam hehehe

Well... at the very end I went with the LX3. Gosh this camera is SEXY! The zoom kinda sux, but everything else just ownz.

And then, I got a little bit nuts and bought also a Nikon D90. This camera is on fire! Maybe I shouldnt have gone for this camera since it's my first SRL, but I am learning slowly.
Hopefully I will be able to post some cool pictures from Sa Pa, Viet Nam soon enough smile.gif

Cheers and take care

Get a D80 body/D60 kit. For the D80, you can get a cheap lens (can't advice you, I'm a Canon user)

If you want, you can jump over to Canon and get the 450D/1000D. Good choices to consider too.

As people say, you get what you pay for.

The LX3 is the best and undoubted prosumer camera. Though it lacks zoom capabilities, it produces superb pictures to compensate.

Both are equally superb performers. Depends on your personal preference only.

Both camera's lenses are expensive - there's no one brand that sells 'cheap' lenses.
