Okay..you've basically got your choices right. Just something to add, you might want to include the Sony A200 in your list. I personally like the A200 very much and at around RM1500, it's a grab =D
All DSLRs more or less produce quality images with low noise. Now it's up to you to personally test out those cameras and see which one you prefer over the other.

You dont really get the point of DSLRs dont you.
A DLSR will not guarantee you "great shots". It's how you utilize the camera that will produce great results.
But then, if you insist on getting a DSLR, I would suggest you to do more research on DSLRs and get some idea on the models that you want. sad.gif

Read about the D60/1000D. These are the best bets.

I'd recommend you to get a 450D kit, but for travel - I'd recommend you get an extra 55-250, or sell off the kit lens + buy an 18-200. Worth the money you pay.

Hmm..

I can't help you on the selling part - that you'll have to do in Garage Sales. Buying part though, I can help. Would you mind to use the template provided on the first page? Gives us an idea of what you want in your DSLR.

I recommend you to go for the 1000D, D60, D80 or 450D.

These should really help. I don't personally recommend Sony yet - they aren't as stable as Canon and Nikon are in the DSLR market.

My advice is to get a 1000D with a 55-250 & 50 1.8.

These are the best beginner gear that will supplement you a lot when travellng. For candid you can use the 55-250 and for events use the 50 1.8.

If you're really into Nikons, then get a used D60. If you are open to other choices though, the Sony a200 will fit your budget perfectly.
I recommend you to sell your PS3 first if you're really keen on photography.

If 2nd hand, get the D60, if you're really interested. It should last you for a while - but if you can afford it go for the D80 as it has in-body stabilization if I'm not wrong.

With your budget you can get a 1000D/D60... or a D80 body.

The 400D also is possible - but it's quite old already. If you really want to get something like it, topup a few hundred more and get the 450D.
