Yes TM having storewide discounts indeed but the Nendoroids are like rm200++ each. Even with 10% you are still paying higher than usual.
In fact, most of the stuff in TM already marked up so high that even after 10% discount, you are still a fool for buying there.
It is insulting that they actually think collectors are stupid.

I've been to TM in timesquare in 08, derik, the young boss is the one attend me, he is quite friendly to me, end up I buy a classic deluxe class from them, although I am not really keen to buy it. I did notice they have lots of some discontinue toy, yes, they did sell at higher / overprice, but come on, it is rare what. Why don't people check eBay, lots of people did that as well, it's just about supply and demand.
Aunty from glory system, endah parade, I used to be a very very loyalty customer to them, until I moved out from serdang. She treated me very well and I feel like I am a nephew to her. And i have experience in buying MP05 that have defect on the megaton chest, i call her 2 days later, then I go to her shop again to replace a new one, but the other one also defect, I don't ask her to open another one since nobody will want a masterpiece with box opened before. So I ask is it possible to spray for me? She agreed with that without hesitate and the most amazing thing is she send the item back to me to Klang following day! Sometimes she also will advice me on what to buy. I still visit her sometimes I go near that area. I always feel like to thank her but I just dunno how to start. If aunty see this, i want to say 'thank you'. And please pm me your phone number, I lost yours number.
Famitoy boss Kok, also a very nice guy. A guy with his word. Happy dealing with him also. Last year when I try to downsizing my collection, he buy my toys at a very very reasonable price. He take my collection at more than 2/3 of my purchase price. Really thank you Kok.
Toy wiz also one that offer good service also.
Now due to some reason, I seldom buy toys, but I really enjoy dealing with them, it is a happy experience.
Bad experience wise, so far I didn't have one.
Wish every one can get their dream toys at their expected price.

Them four might not be the friendliest of shop owners but to be honest, once you get to know them, they really aren't that bad.

^ I guess you are 1 of the few that are supportive of TM. Maybe you are regular enough that the boss can recognize you already, hence the "better" treatment, compared to prospects that walked into the shop.

QUOTE(Harddisk @ May 3 2011, 06:13 PM) ^ define good/bad customer. Super customer : No question asked, just buy and pay full amount (get the best service) Good customer : Ask a bit, buy without discount (still get the best service) Ok customer : Ask for discount nicely and softly, then buy (get good service) Bad customer : Ask for discount loudly until the whole shop can hear, then buy (not welcome) Worse customer : Ask for discount over and over again loudly until shop assistant fed up, then don't buy (won't even look at you) It is your own character and attitude that define how you are being served/treated wherever you go. Refrain from asking discount while asking for a better service. Like to take but reluctant to give Money is not everything, but everything is money No offend

^^ with more than 40% marked up price of an item, it is just elementary that someone would asks for discount. Likewise, whenever I go GA, I never ask for discount, even I know their paints and display stand not the cheapest, cause I know their Gundam kits are. Unlike certain shops, everything more expensive than the rest of the shops, so you might want to try to luck to get a better price by asking for discount. And imagine they always give excuse to you like, "this is the last unit" reason for not giving discount. After you bought it, make a u-turn in a couple of hours later, the same item is being placed onto the same shelf, just ONE unit, to be sold again. ^ I have held their Gundam box, but never fully took out from the shelf, just pull out to look at the box art. Luckily auntie never ask me to "stop touching". Not sure if because I was carrying my dSLR everywhere I go, treatment was different? This post has been edited by Harddisk: May 3 2011, 09:15 PM

On the contrary I hardly ever get anything from them! I think I've only ever gotten 1 PVC, a few SD kits and the odd bottle of thinner and some paint from them over the years. Usually I drop by, say hi, ask how has their day been (if the uncle and aunty are running the shop) and browse around. They are civil enough when I ask them to show me stuff. I do recall that when I was new to the scene they were much less friendly. Like someone else has mentioned one probably needs to know them a bit before they warm up to you.

Rule no 1 in securing your prospects/customers hearts: warm yourself up, YOURSELF, not the customer to do it for you. If not, put yourself in the microwave first. Being hostile and show bossy face/look/khuan/action won't bring businesses in. So I guess now we know why so many had bad experience with them, cause they lacked a microwave/oven.
