It is not wrong to shop for cheap toys, but cursing a shop just because of RM 10 - RM 20... please stop it la, as others is laughing at this small petite RM 10 - RM 20 issue . toy shop owner is just trying to make a living just the same as you as well. They don't deserve your cursing just because of you yourself not willing to let others make RM 20 which is not a lot of money after considering their electric bill, house installment, CAR installment, family expenses, rental (which is incredible high compare oversea), food etc. Toys in Malaysia is reasonable cheap if you compare with many more country like Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Brunei and many more.

And yes, you got a choice. you always got a choice even in buying a car.

my friend, if ur complaint is about guys cursing toy shop for expensive prices i understand la... i guess its not appropriate la...but like mr judge said, the reason for this thread is to share info so that we do not become victims of overpriced toys..

n ur argument about all the commitments n stuff...u mean buyer don't have those commitments too? they too have bills to pay n the commitments u mentioned...

n as i said earlier, if ur too much hunting for bargains, u could end up spending xtra time n money for it..however if u have info on places with bargains n so on why not use them rite?

lastly about cars, ur the one complaining about car prices being expensive here rite..what i meant not having a choice is about the pricing of the cars..of course u can choose the car but u can't choose the price of it being so expensive here rite...

from ur reaction i would guess ur in the toy business, sorry if have offended u...

it looks like my example is being turn into complaints by you.. lol :-)

Put it this way, a certain toys is being retail by a local distributor at a recommended price RM 100.00 . Shop-A sell it at RM 100.00 . Shop-B sell it at RM 85.00 . So Shop-A sell at scalp price?

I found it a bit unfair that some complaint about a mere RM 10.00 - RM 20.00 as it is so obvious that Shop-B is doing an offer but Shop-A is not and being branded as irresponsible shop. Scalp price should be at least double the price or even more .

and sorry, i am not in the toys business. but i do retailing on clothing, watches, artificial jewelry and shoe. On toys, never. As the margin for toys is too small . Collecting is much more fun than selling toys.

lol. offend not taken :-)

Cos only one person, who is the owner (Jeremy) jaga the shop. If he going out to take something, how is he gonna monitor the customers (just in case some ppl hand itchy). biggrin.gif Therefore, he asked the customers to go out first.

QUOTE(kayubalak @ Jan 16 2011, 10:22 PM)
just to share a bit with everyone..

my friend said he was asked to leave the store ultimate toys in amcorp mall once becoz it was crowded on day...

so this afternoon as my friend and another friend were walking with me hunting for toys at amcorp..

both of them entered the store as i only survey the toys from outside...(it was again crowded, being a sunday and it is anyway a small shop)

and truly enough they were approached by the owner asking whether they are looking for anything and when they said they are looking around first, they  were asked to get out of the store so that he (the owner) could go out to take some things..however, once they stepped out of the store, he locked the door, leaving mostly the customers who were interested or maybe collecting their hot toys...

i leave the assessment to u guys...

bro itforce, if u had read my comments properly, you would realise that i said that he filtered the customers...he somehow like get rid at those who want to just have a look...my friend told me that the owner said to them to move out as he wanted to take things, however what he did was just lock the door right after my friends left and return to his place.. but i guess if u go in n straightaway pay without bargaining or taking ur time to see, u would be treated like a king.. i believe he is a nice guy, but what he did on that day was not so nice..

Hi Bro,

I think you are rich people son. So you will say like that. For us we are not rich. We are Toy Collector. RM10-RM20 is quite a big amount for us.

Why must buy from SHOP A that selling RM100.? Why not buy from SHOP B that selling RM85? If me I will go to SHOP B since the shop is 2 floor down compare to SHOP A. Just walk down 2 floor i can use RM15 to eat KFC. I believe all TOY collectors who not from a RICH family will do as what I do. SMART consumers......

I will buy from SHOP A if SHOP B is out of stock. This is because i do not want to wait for restock. Why? This is because i want to save my transportation expenses and time to travel to shopping center again. Sorry to you SNAKEES if I too straight here.

Actually, the comments by snakees nothing to do with being rich people son la.

He just state if you don't like that particular shop price, don't buy there la. Ranting about a few ringgit difference is waste of time la.

A good example would be Jusco, Parkson, Isetan etc...They sell Gundam at Litt Tak RRP, so they are scalper? lol. They sell at least at RM4.50 to 100 Yen from my last calculation....

I'm sure most of us here do as you do, we buy at higher price sometimes because we don't want waste time going back and forth the shop again.

Anyway, just my 2 sen only, no offense ya.

if you live in Ampang then obviously you buy your stuff from K.L side, If you live in P.J then obviously you buy your stuff from Midvalley or Damansara. If you live in Subang, then for sure you buy from Empire.

Everyone know where sell Transformers, Gundam, Hot Toys etc at cheapest price . Why travel from Ampang to Subang just to save RM 20.00 ? Trying to be smart or trying to save ?

Spent 5 hour looking for the best deal = save RM 20.00
Spent 5 hour on payable work = make RM 50.00 income

RM 50.00 - RM 20.00 = RM 30.00

You spend RM 20.00 but have balance of RM 30.00 .
Try to save RM 20.00 and have a negative RM 10.00 .

I am not a rich man , but hopefully one day become one by using basic plus minus math and of course common sense . No offend to anyone :-)

I think forums like these are good to improve the efficiency of the market and allowing buyers all around to make an informed decision. whether 20 bucks is alot or not, is not the point... point is, in the market place, we need to empower the buyer to ensure we all can make an informed decision and be happy with our respective decisions. Rather than regret, aiyah... 2 floors down got cheaper... then u will feel cheated and stupid... Why Pay More? if you can avoid it that is...

end of the day... power to the consumer... not the retailers. Economy these days not doing so well, therefore, it should be a buyer's market smile.gif

Just want to share my experience today. Went to Times Square to hunt for my MGS Play Arts Kai Sneaking Suit figure and found it at Gamers Arena for only RM195. XL-Shop was right beside it and were selling it at RM218. Hmm... easy choice.

But guess what guys! Time Machine just beside both shops is moving! And they have almost a storewide discount of 10%! The guy was busy packing boxes but he was nice enough to entertain my enquiries on some rare figures.

They really have a nice collection. Lots of hard to find stuff. Check it out!

their service might be darn good to you but for me and for many others, we dont feel that way at all when it comes to TM. in fact, no matter how cheap they can offer me i wouldn't buy from them at all.

anyway, no one can force you to buy or not to buy from a certain shop. if you are happy then please go ahead and if you aren't happy with them then just avoid them

after some times, i wish to amend my previous comments in forum. just like some of you, i won't go back to TM anymore too .

Hi guys, I'm an avid toy collector as well. I'm collecting mainly transformers and DC comics direct figures. I would recommend Famitoy and Toywiz amcorp mall. Those guys overthere are friendly n tactful. If u r looking for DC figures u may check out the Mind shop in center point bandar utama.
