a HSBC telemarketer told me that reward points that a HSBC mastercard collects cannot be added with points collected by a HSBC visa. Is this true?

your credit limit is free-ed up by the installment amount every month.

eg. is ur purchase is 4800. credit limit is 5000. Over 12 months.

Month 0 Installment left: 4800 Credit limit: 200
Month 1 Installment left: 4400 Credit limit: 600 (pay RM400)

Direct Access from CIMB
CIMB Petronas (free for life with cash rebate)
CIMB Mastercard

Have not been successful yet. If you have a DA card, you cannot apply for a CIMB Petronas. I know cause I tried. Reason given is both cards got fuel rebate. Have not tried the vanilla CIMB cards or Enrich cards yet.

Based on my experience Direct Access from CIMB. Within a week you get your card.

have you considered CIMB direct access? No idea whether Maybank accepts offer letter and transcript as supporting documents but I've heard direct access does.

on contractual bonus, no idea but when in doubt why don't you break it up say write 36k then at the bottom "not inc 1 month contractual bonus". the forms are processed by humans anyway.

Most cards already offer verified by visa and mastercard securecode facilities for internet transactions.

For HSBC activation is via the internet banking portal. One of the options.

I was told most banks charge the store 5% for the facility for 0% installment vs the 1-2% service charge for normal transactions. This is how they make their money.

Yeah most stores already have enough margin or marked up to cover for that >.>

For 0% installment I think most popular is MBB by the virtue of having alot more merchants..
(0% installment only available if the store uses the banks credit card merchant services)

MBB is Maybank.

There are some free for life like MBB Petronas. The rest i think u can request for waiver.

I got a brochure they were passing around in klcc for their 2-hour new application approval.

- 12 months if existing CL > RM6k
- 18 months if existing CL < RM6k

Not forgetting World Mastercard launched for CIMB and Direct Access. RM180k income p.a. requirement for D.A, RM240k p.a. for CIMB.

if you use a co-brand card you cannot use the mymesra card.

when i was using a mesra card previously, it will prompt for it after it has approved your credit card. The prompt no longer comes since I switched to a MBB Petronas Visa.

Those are co-brand cards. Usually you need to be a member of that organization to apply.

but MAstercard always seems to have contest.

I called MBB today and the CS says the MBB Petronas 5x Treatpoints promo has been extended till further notice.
