At initial stage, nobody thought the incoming 115units of SVS' sub in Oct will be sold off at such short period. In fact, right before the shipment arrives sweat.gif . It did. So, we shall wait for subsequent shipment in end Nov with enough stocks.

The shop is expected to start operation in Jan 2010 with all SVS range to be auditioned  and it is abt 2mins drive from the toll. smile.gif  There will be a small demo room; abt 12' x 19' or so. ID doing the layout. Please drop by with your cash in hand  wink.gif

good to hear there will be a demo room soon.. most svs buyers dont realise the biggest disadvantage we are facing compared to the states is we dont get the 1month money back gurantee.. if no demo room and money back gurantee then paying so much money will be a big risk... with a demo room at least u know roughly how it is going to perform in your home

at the moment, I'm sure if he orders several dozen units  shouldn't be a problem to sell all within the same month..  thumbup.gif

sweat.gif That's the main concern now as one customer is almost confirmed in buying PB13-Ultra. Over the last 2 weeks, 2x NSDs and 1x 12-Plus being sold. Frankly speaking, I didn't expect it to be like hot cakes blush.gif .

So in other words if no cash in hand....don't even bother to drop by and waste your time?

Aiyo... bro, why say like that? sweat.gif Coz most ppl kena poison after auditioned. Then, can terus angkat balik wink.gif

Surcharge applies nia. The scheme is there.

Unfortunately no at the moment. Since this is a brand new company, I was turned down by bank when I tried applying for cc facility sad.gif Maybe after some time of biz operation, then approach them again.

Anyway, easy payment scheme or cc, surcharge applies.

Taukeh mpyw, you have this issue already? Next week, can I get both copies from you? How's the review of 12-NSD? The 13-Ultra's review is already thumbup.gif

Money back guarantee in Malaysia is very risky too. Brick and Mortar is the safest bet. The store front will house the entry level and mid-range stuff; S series speakers, with both 12-NSDs along wt a PC12-Plus. Sort of living room concept.

so... with the PB12-Plus soon to arrive at me doorsteps...
just wondering is there any break-in ceremonies recommended by fellow sifu?

Should I refrain from whacking stupidly loud volumes of black hawk down?
Should i block ports...or open up completely?
Frequency sweeps?
Crossover settings?

I know break in a topic discussed to death for centuries..just wanna know what other SVS owners in particular have treated their once-were virgin subs?

Do not crank the gain above 12 o' clock when it is new. Let it to run-in at moderate vol. You may block a port and set it at 15Hz.

One important rule : Please read the manual before using it.

What is your setup again? 80Hz xover set'g wld be ideal unless you are using sats.

By right, yes. This sld be the way to set it. However, I've encountered that with the xover being not 'off' and set to matching freq response, it yields better result. In a way that both blend seemingly well.

I received my QED Y splitter last week and i tried on Sunday with Knowing BD. Sounded boomy, went online to read up more then only i found that the spliiter would crank the sub vol up 6db as its feeding it stereo signals..

i meant up 3dB with Y splitter whistling.gif

Am testing the EQ1 now and one of the side experiments I tried is checking the dB gain of a Y-splitter. Basically I measured the sub level with and without a Y-splitter and the difference is 6 dB.

So hsieng loong's observation is correct. I also thought it was 3-4 dB only, now I stand corrected.

I am using QED Y-splitter too and I thought my sub has gained about 3db that I have to reduce that much at the AVR. Apart from gaining in volume, the bass is tighter....what do you think of the Y-splitter?

If your AVR has Audyssey then best to re-run it and Audyssey will adjust the sub trim automatically.

To me the main benefit of a Y-splitter is that it effectively increases the sensitivity of your sub by 6 dB. The max output of your sub is unchanged (in car terms your top speed remains the same) but your sub amplifier doesn't have to work as hard to achieve the same output (this means lower distortion) - like in your case you turned down the gain by 3 dB means your sub works less hard by 3 dB but loudness to your ears is the same.

B4 that, you need to experiment it yourself. Sometimes, it is better with it being 'off''. This was proven when I told megatron007 to try out. In his case, he is using sub's xover to match his avr. Not all cases being the same smile.gif .

Waiting a buddy to come and lug the PC-Ultra back whistling.gif I bet he'll post here by evening.
