There are no "best laptop" or "perfect laptop" in the world... even the best of the best have slight weakness.... maybe have if u build it urself...... since the price is insanely cheap with killing spec, so have to give and take dude.... for touchpad, im pretty sure a gamer will get external mouse to use, so far haven't seen any gamer using touchpad to play graphic intense game such as far cry 2, crysis and etc....

for keyboard, backlit is good but it still common for 15.4" laptop which don't have backlit LED. If u are a professional keyboard user, u should have problem identifying the key in dark. Maybe u will press wrongly for 1st key but u will figure it out the 2nd key after the wrongly press 1st key. So far i've no problem for keyboard, since desktop keyboard too have no backlit, except for those gamers keyboard.

About multimedia key, i saw there are alot of function in F1 - F9, but im not sure izzit multimedia shortcut or not. But volume/mute button and ofcoz power button is most important 1, the rest is up to user to judge whether they really will utilize the multimedia button or not.

Conclusion, they price is cheap enuf to stop ppl from complaining about the spec already. Im pretty sure u CANT find any better prices from other brand such as Dell, HP, Asus and so on....

I use a mouse to play games laugh.gif

and there are 3 buttons beside the power key (non keyboard) where you can set functions to. Hotkeys are standard but there's also one that turns the moniter off which i find useful rclxms.gif

I don't see the point of including the size of the touchpad in your argument. Are you trying to say that people would use the touchpad to play games if it's bigger or the laptop resembles more of a gaming machine if more than 3 fingers can fit?

Any gamer would use a mouse to play game IMHO.

I lol'd.

Since when is backlit keyboard a must for gamers? If you're that unfamiliar with the keys, and spends time looking at which key is positioned where, how would you concentrate on the friggin' screen, where enemies come to kill you?

Multimedia keys? What? Hardcore gamers have Windows Media Player at the background for them to enjoy to hardcore trance music while they're having their killing sprees? Having them is a great convenience, but what does it have to do with gaming?

Touchpad, I actually used it to play Team Fortress 2 before I got my mouse. The size of the touchpad on my Dell Vostro looks pretty much the same as the Sager's, but I managed to play quite okay as medic and pyro, tell someone you're using touchpad and they'll go like WTF?! laugh.gif

But I do agree with you, the price set aside, Alienware wins my heart (way too much cool factor) laugh.gif But for 6.1k, hell shocking.gif I'd go for the Sager.

I guess you're the kind of person who thinks that the processor and the size of RAM are the decisive component in a system's gaming performance. Haven't heard of a GPU have you? Most probably not judging by your utterly pathetic remarks. Go back to school and educate yourself more.

A gamer could easily get an external mouse as well as an external dispay if he wants to, and with a spec like that, it's far better than most desktops.

well, i'm still studying so I need something that is suited for most environments, eg: classroom, office, airport, meeting. I wouldn't want to do a presentation in front of the class with an alienware (it raises expectations too much laugh.gif )

If that is a snide remark towards mine, then here's a comeback.

An Alienware can be subtle as well, with the Ripley chassis. Getting the Skullcap chassis will definitely turn heads, and if you're that shy type and wants to slink into the background not wanting to attract attention to yourself, or the type that wants to appear business-like, but still project an outlook f someone who appreciates portable computing power, then Alienware with the Ripley chassis is just that. There are lots of technical-related professionals who arm themselves with an Alienware when it is their turn to do their presentations, especially to those relying on CAD drawings or number-crunching applications. That is why Alienware even offers the option of the Nvidia Quadro FX 3600M, specifically for that. And these professionals at some point, do think like you, wanting to avoid unnecessary attention, yet needing considerable processing power with them in portable form all the time.

Turn off the all the AlienFX lighting and guess what? It is as zero bling as your dull Sager. Saves on battery life too. And what's that? BinaryGFX even extends that with using the IGP and processor downclocks for your "presentation infront of the class" moments so that you don't blast those listening on your presentation with hot air from your spinning fan ventings. If you're worried about other people's expectations then you have self-esteem issues. After all, you bought your Sager with that config, and you want it to hide under a plain-jane enclosure? Might as well wrap it in painted tupperware then.

To each his own. Want to be dull and regular like others? Be my guest, but fitting in an out-of-this-world specced components into a dull case, is like fitting in an Evo engine into a nondescript Wira. We all know what we call that around here. rolleyes.gif Personally, I see it as a damn shame to have no one know that your notebook innards is filled with premium specs when you wrap it with a cookie-cutter case. You wouldnt want a crumbling facade of a house but filled it with leather Italian furnishing and tiled walls and floorings, would you?

I can accept the reasoning of Alienware being a premium (read: priced beyond reach of normal audience) purchase and I'll agree on that fact with you. But once you start harping on the Alienware being too much of an expectation-raiser, then you get others perceiving that it does only that and nothing else. If you had left it at the issue of it being a price factor, I would not have felt compelled to comment at length like this.

sweat.gif if it was meant that way I would have posted in ur thread

to verbigerate yourself, to each his own

This laptop fits my needs ideally, so why should I buy a bling filled laptop only to turn off those features? You can add LED keyboards, and custom laser etching (not limited to your name wink.gif ) into the Sager. I was really impressed with the level of customizability when they allowed the buyer to choose the type of thermal paste and the option of not buying an o/s . unlike other manufacturers

BinaryGFX? I dont see how it's worth mentioning since Sager, Apple and Sony all have tweaks that do the same thing doh.gif

Was it incorrect to say that Alienware raises expectations? I would expect a guy driving a ferrari (ooppps... that's acer whistling.gif ) to go further than some who's driving a "nondescript wira". Besides if the m15x was all that high and mighty my words would count for nothing.

I don't see Alineware as a premium brand. I see it as an extravagance. Premium things retain their value and I fully doubt either of our laptops will be worth much in 2 years laugh.gif

Anyways, this was meant to be a review thread and to introduce this nice little brand to anyone who drops by or has questions smile.gif

Ini Wilayah Sager cool.gif flex.gif
