ah .. bloody heck.

i got a "nice" email from xoticpc about this 10% of mine.  cry.gif

Hence from today onwards, i won't be able to offer this discount any longer.  to those who ordered from me before today, i'll do my best to fulfill my obligations. there still another 2-3weeks before i'm due to cash out, so hopefully everything will still go as planned.

Oh damn, how did they find out? unsure.gif

Eh.. I thought there's nothing wrong with using corad's link to purchase? It's not like exploiting a loophole or something right?

unless you bought xoticpc warrenty, most of your technical queries are sent to : techsupport@sagernotebook.com . i'm surprised they din't at least email you back.

i'm not too sure how legal it is, with taxes on their side and everything. I'm not one to argue with them, so i'm just letting this one slide sad.gif

still, without the 10% its still a good buy for future buyers thumbup.gif

and to be fair, they were sympathetic when i quoted the high shipping fee's + non local warranty support and replied :

singapore has trade free zones, so i'm assuming that taxes won't be a problem. What's wrong with the zepto ?
thanks man .. surviving on 3-4hours of sleep nowadays  tongue.gif

i din't get the nVidia sticker on either of my sagers either.
remembered see-ing some1 ask if i was doing a bulk. I'm not. Not running a business here  smile.gif  You'll have to buy direct from xoticpc's website.

I think i've got a lemon since i've changed it twice and it keeps having some irritating problems from a keyboard which has flex in it to the usb ports unable to detect portable HDD (other lower power usage usb devices are fine though).

Plus the 9650GT card isnt as powerful as i would like it to be coz i cant play fallout 3 at high settings at 1680 reso and have to settle with med which it still lags in alot of areas.

Hi, I'm new here, planning to buy a new laptop. For my budget of RM6k, is it good for a Sager? I want to play some games and use it for watching movies most of the time...

Well all the packages do include the standard international warranty for parts and labor. But we need to pay for extension and extras to it. Anyway that's the weird part, no reply from them at all sweat.gif doh.gif . Well i'll forward my mails to techsupport@sagernotebook.com then and hopefully will get reply from there.

bottom line: get a sager only if you're confident with computers.

you can't rival the specs or the price, but you'll be forfeiting warranty. Be prepared to fix it yourself if it's broken. only if ya laugh.gif

but the warranty is not that useful for us outside the states. it would probably be more convenient and cheaper to swap any spoilt part by ourselves. hence the "plea" to xoticpc to review their prices for international orders. If i can't give discounts, then they should tongue.gif

I suggested a grace period of 30days for warranty in exchange for a reduction in price for orders to M'sia. Waiting to see what they say.

Aikzz the 10% affiliate discount thing is gone ???

Haihz I think I'll just settle on other laptops then, I'll get a Sager next when my laptop-which-I-havent-bought-yet-but-buying-this-month expires.

Who knows, maybe in the future we will have local Sager dealers and the warranty works anywhere and most importantly, the price will drop ! ( Good way of being optimistic ) biggrin.gif

Anyway, if anyone wish to purchase elsewhere or check local availability read here.

Fried motherboard? You might as well send the whole notebook back instead of buying the separate motherboard. Even if you found one, I doubt manufacturer willing to just "sell" you their motherboard and installing it yourself will require soldering in notebook case.

Yes of course they are different, 9800 GT =/= 9800M GT performance/size(?) wise. Its less likely to see the 9800M GT especially in NP8660 case to experience overheat provided you did not do some extreme overclocking/blocking the ventilation hole... I don't know, what other way can you think of torturing your notebook?

FYI, the 9800M GT (G92) desktop equivalent will be a faster 8800 GTS (G80) or an slower 8800 GT (G92) performance wise.

Sad to hear about the 10%, corad. BTW, you O/C your CPU via altering the CPU FSB in BIOS, yes?
