I am based in Australia (Brisbane actually) , and I can tell you this:

DO NOT BUY IN AUSTRALIA! The only reseller there, Pioneer Computers, sell their Dreambook (Sager) laptops for ridiculous prices. The equivalent laptop to my current NP8690, the Dreambook W860CU was about $3-4K AUD, which equals to 1:1 ratio of $3-$4K USD. This was with the i5! PROCESSOR! And my XoticPC one came straight with an i7!
With that amount of money in the US or Malaysia, you can buy almost the top of the line laptop from Sager, with an SLI or CrossfireX configs. And with that in mind, I bought mine from the USA, $2K cheaper than what it is in Australia. But you get the advantage of handing them for repairs, that's it.

Not to offend you "this is a lamp" but about not buying Clevo labtops in Australia. There are 2 resellers selling clevos rebranded. To me, they are priced at reasonable prices but the currency between RM and AUD just sucks bad. I too am hoping to snatch myself one of these sagers but will wait for the rumored 6970m card setups or if AUD gets cheaper. smile.gif

Oh that's alright, not offended at all. But I'm always basing my thoughts not on RM but with AUD and USD, because currently they are 1:1 on the currency exchange. I do not think AUD will get cheaper with the new Prime Minister; she intends to increase the currency value for economical purposes.

The prices are indeed decent for Australia though. Hmmm maybe they can provide me with the 6970m later on smile.gif Thanks for the heads up on the resellers. Seems that the LogicalBlueOne provides customers with the DDR3 1600 RAMs.

Guys, need some advise for Sager NP8690.

Is there a sim card module in the laptop? (which may be upgradable?)
Located at the back compartment under the battery.

And is it possible to install a mini pci wireless by replacing the half mini pci?

Will try to upload the photos later...

Lamp so fast ordered new laptop? cheaper in MY than from US? smile.gif

If I'm right the wireless is upgradable, I'm not sure about half to mini though.

And yeah haha, I ordered already. But it's not really cheap in MY, and its harder to get Sagers here. Happy with the laptop smile.gif?

Nah, from the US. LPC-Digital . They gave me lower prices than other resellers, and were pretty friendly and patient in answering A LOT of my questions.

Yeah same interior. If you're talking about the inside of the laptop, I'm pretty sure it has the same layout therefore their manual would be similar, if not the same.

8130 is black, has a beautiful matte screen, and plastic (previous Sager models). Has a 120W power supply.

8150 is grey-ish, also beautiful but glossy screen, and rubber (like Asus G73). Has a 180W power supply, and therefore supports Intel i7-2920XM, the extreme processors and bigger upgrades on its GPU, which is why it could handle the 485m.

In RM, I bought my current specs (in sig), RM5030 including shipping. Doesn't include the Momentus XT (I already had it before just reusing it), and the cooler.

Yeah haha I know, the 8130 deal is tempting, but I already have my own HDD and some spare 4GB RAMs lying around somewhere. I like matte too, and a black finish...but my opinion, in a long term, the 180W adapter will make the laptop last longer, as there is enough headroom for the voltages to be used, instead of cramming it in a 120W adapter. Probably would be less hot too i think.

But I'm picky about details so don't have to follow what I say haha. The 8130 is an amazing laptop still, and with that deal and the other models, I think Sager is really getting the market in gaming performance laptops...if only more people would know Sager.

And I will (85%) order the ATi 6970m when it's released.
