QUOTE(den0422 @ Jun 29 2009, 08:55 AM) http://www.sgcubehubs.com/ <---- have any of you tried to get a Sager on this website. Yes. They are just a reseller like we are. There is no such thing as a Sager distributor. However, please hold on for some more time as we are speaking with your Malaysian Authorities on how to set things up.Its a Sager distributor in Singapore. Anyone tried this? We will mostly stock popular models. Unique, high end expensive ones are upon request and will require non-refundable deposits of a certain percentage. |

You can just look at the website and check out the rough prices, use the currency. For Malaysians, we will only let you have official warranties and proper servicing. We're still in negotiations for on-site servicing so ignore that one.

QUOTE(ftcc @ Jun 29 2009, 05:42 PM) I have a few questions: If you're going to another country, you should do better to purchase an official Sager warranty and getting UK resellers to help you. Sager doesn't really have an "International" warranty. How does the international warranty work? If any problems arise do I have to send the laptop back to Singapore for repair? and at whose expense? I will be relocating to the UK in a couple months. Is the warranty still valid? If so, are there any service centres you can recommend I contact over there? Thanks alot in advance Going to a country other than US/Canada means you are at the mercy of the reseller(s) in that country. Whether they say yes or no and whatever cost is always unknown. Something like this is very strange and odd to work out and very uncommon. |

QUOTE(Alexdino @ Jul 21 2009, 12:41 PM) yes their website is here Let me state that the sgcubehub prices are a result of them comparing their prices with ours. Their price does NOT include OS while ours do. We will usually offer 20-30SGD lower than sgcubehubs if we are matching them local warranty for local warranty. This is, however, highly discouraged, as this is just a "cowboy" practice that should not be done. Sager has already warned us not to anyhow throw out warranties because it will be disaster if resellers are not able to find parts when there is a warranty claim. When you buy a Sager warranty, the responsibility is pushed to Sager. THEY have the power and "lobang" to find you parts and assure you of a proper coverage.they are from SG also and now setting up store in Malaysia. but however i found out that their price seem to be a bit higher compare to sgcubehubs Our warranties offered are OFFICIAL Sager warranties whereas theirs are just warrantied by themselves with one year Sager warranties. This is a HUGE risk taken by the reseller and throwing out crazy warranties will result in death/bankruptcy to the reseller. If you want to compare prices, it should be compared with a one year warranty. We will not take unnecessary risk and prefer warranty coverage OFFICIALLY WARRANTIED by Sager. Malaysia does not have tax on IT goods so we are reflecting this accordingly. There is NO tax as long as you choose Malaysian Ringgit under the currency options. Please pick Malaysian Ringgit under the currency options to reflect the real price. Added on July 22, 2009, 1:28 pm QUOTE(deathbringer @ Jul 21 2009, 01:36 PM) does Mucro ship to Malaysia? or can i go to their office to self-collect? We are looking at that and we are thinking it might not be good to send to Vital computers to collect. This depends on certain other Malaysian rules we are looking at.the NP8662 is very tempting. On a side note its not only Sager that will be launching, there will be the world's most powerful 14 inch laptop: Zepto Znote G14b 1. direct competition to BenQ S42/ Lenovo Y450 but higher quality and does not overheat. Has higher res screens, even Grade A+ Panels (if you know what that is). 2. Has docking station support for big screens. 3. upgradable. This will always be Zepto's policy. Yes, there are GPUs already on sale. 4. Cons: expensive because of the standard Zepto 2 year global warranty. Also, a great value 17 inch crossfire laptop: This will be another brand and we are still waiting for news about it. We have to admit that the pricing of the Alienware m17x is good in Malaysia (This is Dell's "stronghold" afterall), there might be comparisons in the future between the Sager NP9850 and Alienware m17x. QUOTE(den0422 @ Aug 12 2009, 11:44 AM) hi mucro.asia Yes it comes with a driver disc. However, its best to take the drivers from the sources themselves, especially the Intel chipset and matrix storage drivers.I have a question its kinda stupid but I was just wondering if I bought a laptop from you with NO OS do you still supply the drivers for the video card, wifi card, touchpad, etc...? |

QUOTE(mr lappy @ Aug 14 2009, 04:41 PM) mucro.asia. Thats terrible. We have no news from Sager about your order yet meaning they have not yet received the money we sent. Once they received the money, they will immediately release the goods. We're all waiting for the banks to work. We will send you your machine once it is received from the USA.i think by the amount of email we exchanged you should know which customer i am on your system. the 1 odd week wait for the 1080p screen you mentioned when you mailed me right towards the last minute of delivery about the mixup with my order a few days ago actually meant that ill be without a laptop for 1 odd week. my previous lappy is completely kaput now. thought you should know. Only consolation we can give you is that your RAM will be OCZ 1333MHz RAM and hard disk will bear a 5 year warranty. On another note, we are signing a handover for a company this coming week and will have a Ringgit account soon. This post has been edited by Mucro.Asia: Aug 15 2009, 08:56 PM |

Sorry for the late reply.
We have set up the company but did not have time to set up the bank account last time. We will hopefully do it this coming week. It should be ready once we have access to the bank account. Bank transfers in Ringgit will be allowed first as it is the cheapest way to transact. |

QUOTE(mr lappy @ Aug 28 2009, 07:28 AM) received my laptop yesterday, in fact typing on it now after installing windows and updating it for the whole night. so far so good... but i find the mechanism of the dvd drive a little rough. opening +closing of the drive is not smooth. is this a common problem? Thats weird. There is a latch in the bottom that allows you to easily slide open and close the DVD drive (not the tray). You can try that to easily take out the DVD drive and replace it with a HDD bay or reinsert the DVD drive. |

Correction. There is no latch in the bottom. Got it confused with the NP5797. You might want to try opening and closing a few times the DVD drive to get it "seasoned". This can be common with new laptops and should get smoother as you keep using it.
QUOTE(satisfactionist @ Aug 23 2009, 09:52 PM) The price is on the homepage. You need to select the Ringgit option on the bottom left corner to get your real price. When Ringgit is selected, the GST disappears. You need to add 50SGD for shipping, which is around 120 Ringgit. QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Aug 30 2009, 09:22 AM) Unfortunately shipping is not free. We are already absorbing the shipping insurance which is 1% of the laptop price. Margins are already very low/razer thin for the Sagers, we make less than the GST, so it means we are making even less from Malaysia. Insurance is needed because we don't want unnecessary risk of having a laptop stolen/lost. We are thinking of introducing the 1% into shipping to reflect the real cost of shipping.PS: We could not get a Malaysian bank account set up yet because we had a Malay director pass away. Its going to be a bit more expensive to maintain a Malaysian company so we'll monitor the progress to see if the operation can sustain itself.
