QUOTE(ALeUNe @ Jan 19 2011, 06:09 PM) You mean upgrade the CPU from Sandy Bridge to Ivy Bridge? no. i mean upgrade higher cpu and same socket Unlikely. Current Sandy Bridge is run on Huron River (Series 6 chipset). Ivy Bridge will run on Chief River (Series 7 chipset). Probably a different CPU socket. It's possible to upgrade the GPU though. |

QUOTE(ALeUNe @ Jan 20 2011, 08:44 AM) Mucro offer full insured postage and super fast delivery (by DHL). it means that we have to pay twice for postage (send to mucro and then mucro send it back to us)? The postage is about RM300+. If you are paying RM6-8K on a notebook, paying RM300+ on postage is not a really high cost (it's super fast delivery + fully insured). If you purchase from Mucro, you can send it back to Mucro Singapore. |

NP8150 is ideal for my budget and future upgrades (esp. graphics and processor) If nvidia release future gc that can put in np8150, i upgrade it straightaway.

Intel finds Sandy Bridge chipset design flaw, shipments stopped and recalls beginning/
A problem requiring a "silicon fix" is bad news in the chipset business, and sadly that's what Intel is announcing. Its new Intel 6 Series chipset, Cougar Point, has been found to have a flaw, something to do with the SATA controller. Intel is indicating that the ports can "degrade over time," leading to poor i/o performance down the road. All shipments have been stopped and a fix has been implemented for new deliveries, but it sounds like recalls will be starting soon for those with this ticking time bomb silicon within. It isn't a critical problem right now, though, so if you own a Sandy Bridge Core i5 or Core i7 system keep computing with confidence while looking for a recall notice, but it is bad news for Intel's bottom line: the company is advising a $300 million hit to revenue. http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/31/intel-f...pments-stopped/ Potential recall for sager models?
