I don't feel comfortable wearing shorts anymore while running.

Are there any good below knee length running pants? Tights?
I heard from a guy running at a track once that it's not advisable to run wearing tights? Is that true?
You may be referring to compression pant/short. Hei, phoenix is bringing 2XU in but this brand is known as one of the premier brand/quality with commensurating pricing too.....

Compression pant is long and sometime 3/4.....you may have to search for it......i think they are good for road and track.

Are your tights below the knee (covers the knee area)? I am only looking for any type of running pants, tights that covers the knee.
And how much? So, from what you said it's more comfortable running with tights? Are there tights made especially for running? Don't you feel 'tight' around your hamstring and you feel no restrictions whatsoever while running?

Sorry for too many Q's. Would appreciate if someone can answer all these questions.

harlo no worries tongue.gif

i m afraid mine are above me knees.. covers knee? adidas oso has it but it wud be the special series one (da one with the silver X on the back)
nt sure if nike has ones that long..
Mine were like 69.90? (me tinks) after discount frm pacesetters, bought at pavillion
Yes! i like running with tights tongue.gif
Yes! made for running, sprinting and some say futsal..
Yes! no restrictions to running as the material sorta wraps round ur legs..better then conventional shorts as they flap around or move all over the place when they are wet with sweat n all..

Compression tights and norm tights are used for diff reasons..
And the length of it isn't something you would judge it by..

i used to wear shorts and run for donkey years. abt 3 years ago i switch to tights. i felt that it absorb sweat better and dont soak my shoe too early in a race. i will probably be trying out 2XU compression knee length tights once i get hold of it.

Shah, depending on wat tights u looking for and some of ur Q were being answered. Compression tights are totally different from normal ones (and for obvious reasons cost more). They are supposed to increase proper blood circulation during runs and hence reduce the build up of lactic acid which can results in cramps.

Thank you all for answering my questions. Appreciate it smile.gif rclxms.gif
I will certainly look for the compression tights and hope the price is below RM200. And I hope I can find one below knee length (covers the knee).

Thanks again everyone.

Please suggest which shoe suits me..

If it helps, I was standing with my feet at a V position.

I'm about 6 feet

shoe size usually around 10

for light running, comfort is most important, next to weight of the shoe. if possible those with good soles, to reduce pressure when my feet lands..

I am a bit noob with this. what I have said so far may be useless but I don't really know.

ps. is it true that getting 1 size bigger is better? or that only applies to marathoners?

sorry for the trouble and thanks for your help guys.

ur left foot is normal but ur right one is almost flat footed. to be on the save side, choose a neutral cushioning shoe with mild to moderate medial support. As for the size of the shoe, its not necessary to get one size larger (except that if u really like to wear very thick socks). Just make sure u have one thumb space at the toebox and then your index finger can slot into the back of shoe w/o forcing it in (when u push ur feet all to the front)

most brands have such model which i mentioned. if u r looking at Saucony, then i will recommend the Omni 7. selling at RM275 (after 40% discount)

Shahwan, why don't you get 3/4 sports pants? Bought them a few years back, and I can assure you they didn't cost more than RM50 (after discount) a pair on sale at RSH.

I have never tried tights...I am using one UA compression short (as base layer). It's a good feel and hold your muscles/fats firmly to reduce unnecessarily movement, making the run more efficient and steady......

based on the pix i told u, u hv normal neutral feet right? if not mistaken i recommend Jazz 12 to you for a start. selling at RM230 after 40% discount.

as for Newton, it will be the neutral trainer which is RM645. If u r really interested i can give u some discount. Its a premium for this shoe as its a shoe design for forefoot runner as well as help u change to be a forefoot runner. based on theory, running forefoot is more efficient than a heel striker.

For me, I noticed that when I run slower in my long runs, i am a heel striker. But when i do speed work or do a fast 10k or 21k, i tends to become a forefoot runner. so Newton will be extremely efficient when one wants to run fast in a race.

hey ccube i went to your website, I couldn't find the omni7 you mentioned.

jazz12 looks pretty decent, but is there different model perhaps? somewhere along the price range..

i want to weigh some options if its not too much trouble.

thanks

the Jazz12 is ok too if u dont over-pronate too much. i recommend Omni 7 was bcos, ur right foot was a bit of flat footed. this is to compensate it in case u overpronates. The next option will be the Triumph 5 (RM300) - neutral cushioning or the Hurricane 10 (RM320) cushion + stability.

Omni 7

hmmph.. it is pretty much the same as in its tight.. but norm tights at a norm price does without the compression stuff.. meaning it doesn't do what ccube say eg. increase blood circulation, reduce cramp

@metal freak
u may 1 2 invest in these compression shorts laugh.gif

so the option for me is only jazz12 or omni7.. the rest is over my budget. i will consider among these two if nothing else comes up.
