QUOTE(Syd G @ Jun 29 2009, 12:36 PM) Someone commented that Larian Amal Seri Sinar's medal is so much nicer than SCKLM one.. I agree They even had medals for 5k runners. I like GE 30k 2009 finisher's tshirt.. can wear @ the gym or during running... I prolly wear my SCKLM XL tshirt to sleep or clean the house or something. Haih.. spoil memories for first marathon onli Ija, Do let me know in the future if you are training long runs during weekends At least keep me posted hehe. Argh I'm forcing myself to take the stairs when coming up to level 5. but going down, I'm using the lift

BTW, Syd, did you accidently walked in front of the tourist who were taking picture of Bangunan Abdul Samad? There were a few people (me included) who can't take detour anymore. Just walked straight. @ ccube How to write into that page? This post has been edited by hanjo55: Jun 29 2009, 04:53 PM

@metalfreak I will. My next long run is KOTR, and maybe GE 30k 2010 after that. Sing Mara would depend on how fast I can recover now - there's a fasting month and raya month in-between so maybe run 21k only or give it a go. @hanjo55 I dont think so - or maybe I was just too tired to notice. I did however walked the detour - I know that I'll regret it if I shortchange myself Took another 45 minutes to cover that distance. My mind was pretty rock-solid strong at that time - just calves screaming in pain

@ccube are u gonna run at the lake gardens this coming sat/sun? would like to meet up with u to get the lock laces from you. can you also bring the women's shoe box as well? my sista wants to try the saucony shoes out. she needs a a US9 - 9.5. u got those sizes available? and if you don't mind, can bring the men's box too? men's sizes needed are ranging from UK10 - UK10.5 (my bf wants to try them out).
i finally ran in the shoe on road for the 5km run last sun (not even 3 i feel..) it felt very good. superb cushioning. i tried running in them again yesterday on road around cyberjaya(ran about 6.5k), they were lovely. my feet din even hurt a bit. the only thing i feel i need now is a pair of thicker socks. cos my right foot rubs too much causing the balls of my foot to heat up quite a fair bit as compared to the left side. overall, i think its a very good pair of shoes i've tried to date.

SCKLM was my 'virgin' run too I participated the 10KM run and managed to finish it in 67minutes. I don't know is it a good timing for a really beginner, haha! I was really dissapointed when I got the wrong shirt. They have given me a Lady M vest which is really tight for me. Honestly speaking, the vest is quite important to me because this is my first run, and now I cannot wear it... haizzz... Anyway, that was my first time run outdoor, and quite enjoy it because a lot of people run with me ^^ The next run that I will go for is Shape Run on 25th July... Hope it would be a pleasant run~

Official Statement from Octagon Asia (The Facebook/Twitter/Homepage etc is by Weber Shandwick, the PR firm) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE As the organiser of the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009, we at Octagon acknowledge all comments and feedback received about the management of the Marathon on 28 June.
We regret that some runners faced water shortage during the run. We had 50,000 litres of water and isotonic drinks, with water stations located every 2.5kms along the route but we acknowledge that the distribution of water was not ideal. We apologise once again for this.
As for the distance markers, we stress that such indicators were placed at every kilometre along the route. On the advice of the technical committee, it was decided that the markers would only be for the Full Marathon which is the practice of all international marathons around the world. However we take note of your input in this area for future implementation.
We also acknowledge that nearly half of the participants in the 5km run took a wrong turn and ended up running a shorter route. Together with our partners, MAAU and FTAAA, we are looking into how this could have happened.
We have also received feedback regarding the shortage of Finisher’s Medal for the Full Marathon. We have noted this and have compiled a list of those who have yet to receive a medal. We will notify them immediately about the collection of their medals accordingly. The shortage of medals came about as a result of several individuals collecting more than one medal.
Overall, the race was well received and many have indicated that they would participate next year. We aim to provide a better experience in 2010, with your feedback being instrumental to that.
Thank you.
