the WD black should be better in performance, and also in terms of warranty. seagate is 3 years warranty only nowadays. do correct me if i'm wrong.

My Caviar Blue stays at 35 C while my Seagate is at 34 C. Hmm. Using Gladiator 600 with 120 mm fan and air con. Pretty normal right?

can u guys recommend me some decent harddisk? budget around rm300( izzit too much for 500gb? im really outdated. Last time i saw 500gb price around rm320. Forgot which era  tongue.gif ) like that. 500GB please. Because im using 80gb for 5 years already. Time to upgrade lol!
my purpose:
1. To store games so that i dont need to delete old games if i want to install a new game.
2. To store animes and random files(musics and eth) so that i dont to delete music/anime that im bored of.
*
I remember the days of deleting games I'm too lazy to finish then have to reinstall. I also remember burning so many DVDs tongue.gif. I spent more on DVDs than it cost to buy my new 500gb.

My Caviar Blue 500gb is only RM 170 tongue.gif. Time for 1TB Caviar Black with that budget.

Hmm. Just now my computer froze. Reminds me of last time with motherboard problems.

But when it rebooted, it showed : A problem with the hard drive has been detected.

I ran WD Data Lifeguard Tools, SeaTools and chkdsk /f but nothing is wrong. The message has gone away during boot.

Should I be worried? My WD is brand new sad.gif.

Nope. No Windows message. Just BIOS message. But it's gone now.

One time thing? A bit worried now. Since it passed all the tests, it shouldn't just up and die... right? Bah, this rig is always having some problem or other.

Well, good to hear. I'm downloading some interesting tools to monitor the HDD. Maybe I'll do the extended tests while I sleep.

Where does this Windows message appear?

mois, u can get seagate for about rm290, imo rm325 is way overprice. others you can consider samsung f3 as well. quite a good performer and its 2 platter drive same as 7200.12.

Which is the best software to monitor HDD temperature? Using WD Black and WD Green here.

And is it better to put OS (which will be the primary harddisk) in my 1TB Black or 500GB Green?

As for the secondary harddisk, I will store mostly .exe files, videos, pictures, musics. Downloaded files will also be saved directly into the secondary harddisk. So which harddisk is better to be used as the secondary harddisk?

if for me i'll use the black as the OS disk, and then the green as storage disk. coz you mentioned that you're just gonna store files inside.
