Ah, I didn't see any 1TBs at All IT. They didn't have the 32mb version of the 500GB Blue. I got the 16mb instead.

My Caviar Blue stays at 35 C while my Seagate is at 34 C. Hmm. Using Gladiator 600 with 120 mm fan and air con. Pretty normal right?
Added on October 12, 2009, 12:40 am QUOTE(mois @ Oct 11 2009, 08:07 PM) can u guys recommend me some decent harddisk? budget around rm300( izzit too much for 500gb? im really outdated. Last time i saw 500gb price around rm320. Forgot which era I remember the days of deleting games I'm too lazy to finish then have to reinstall. I also remember burning so many DVDs my purpose: 1. To store games so that i dont need to delete old games if i want to install a new game. 2. To store animes and random files(musics and eth) so that i dont to delete music/anime that im bored of. My Caviar Blue 500gb is only RM 170 This post has been edited by secondrate: Oct 12 2009, 12:40 AM |

Hmm. Just now my computer froze. Reminds me of last time with motherboard problems.
But when it rebooted, it showed : A problem with the hard drive has been detected. I ran WD Data Lifeguard Tools, SeaTools and chkdsk /f but nothing is wrong. The message has gone away during boot. Should I be worried? My WD is brand new |

Nope. No Windows message. Just BIOS message. But it's gone now.
One time thing? A bit worried now. Since it passed all the tests, it shouldn't just up and die... right? Bah, this rig is always having some problem or other. |

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Oct 12 2009, 02:14 AM) if its not a windows message then u don't need to worry so much, but do extra checking just to be sure Well, good to hear. I'm downloading some interesting tools to monitor the HDD. Maybe I'll do the extended tests while I sleep. the windows message not a one time thing,it will always come out to remind u everytime u start ur comp and after that every few hour Where does this Windows message appear? |

The problem didn't come back
I also fixed my HDD's loud vibration-like noise... by poking it. |
