Which is better hdd, external hdd or the desktop one?
i currently using WD Essential 320mb.
Should i go for another external hdd or like desktop 3.5" one... ? Is the difference just the build?

LOL, do you know that your current WD My Book Essential is using the same HDD as the one in your desktop? tongue.gif

Yeah, you're right. The different just the extra build being external. Once again, it depends on what you need and how you want it to be wink.gif. For me, if I need not travel around with load of data, I would rather make it inside the case. Simple reason, I don't want another power adapter on my socket laugh.gif

QUOTE(Sylvester.ee @ Oct 7 2008, 10:59 AM)
ya,power adapter can be very messy.
*
I see. How bout those hdd that you need to buy the casing to put inside one? is that reliable also? No need power adapter rite? smile.gif Whats the difference between 2.5" and 3.5", just the size?

Sure or not? didn't 1.5 TB just came out? Why so fast sold out? And someone said that 2TB is coming out end of Dec. Anyone can confirm this?

sori..wanna ask regarding the power adapter rite..
actually how it works??
i mean hows the connection like??isit very mafan?

cuz i noticed some1 post dis very earlier on in dis forum saying:

Three biggest different between 2.5" HDD vs 3.5" HDD

1) Size itself of course
2) Being use externally, 2.5" can be powered by USB (1 x USB2.0 or 2 x USB1.1) while 3.5" will need extra power adapter.
3) 3.5" has larger capacity limitation compared to 2.5" and capacity / RM more value on the 3.5"

so...for 3.5'' rite..isit everytime wen v plug in to computer it has to be wif the power adapter as well?
*
im using WD Mybook 320g as storage for few months now. If you don't use it like 24/7 just unplug it. if you want to use, plug in it lor.... so easy mah.. smile.gif

I'm already search in this forum but can't find the the 500GB version .. sad.gif

Anyway, what do you think about the new WD Caviar version, which one is suitable for torrent, black, blue, or green?  hmm.gif
*
QUOTE(limhongwoon @ Dec 7 2008, 10:01 AM)
but WD caviar black got 1 tb
*
Caviar Black is for 24/7 like really the performance version for gamers and etc, green is like lower power and so-so performance, blue i think is normal.
Just wait a while more bro, i think 1tb hdd will drop somemore their price so don't buy the 500gb, go straight for 1tb, biggrin.gif
