thanks for replying...

I will confirm if I on a 5.08BL or not...

But if I successful downgrade to 02.28 rite...that mean my phone is 2.2.1 (02.28) ..I cannot straight use yellowsn0w?

if cannot....mean I need to download 2.2fw from front page and restore everything?
*
After you completed the downgrade, you don't have to restore firmware 2.2. You're downgrading the BL only. So, just proceed to use yellowsn0w to unlock. Just follow the guide provided on first post and you'll be fine but really pay attention to what you're doing.

I think you're the first here to attempt the downgrade and all the best mate. Do feedback to us when you're done.

Cheers

lol ok

But u said earlier " You need to revert back to 2.2 and use yellowsn0w to unlock. "...

but the problem is...I think im using the official/original 2.2.1 fw from Itunes to use with the Rebel sim, Can i still unlock it with yellowsn0w?

So U think I should go for custom 2.2.1 then do the baseband downgrade then unlock it?
or
Using original 2.2.1 downgrade and restore back to 2.2? Can I just shift+restore using the custom 2.2 file from Page 1?
or
try original 2.2.1 downgrade and unlock with yellowsn0w?

Can you guide me alil via MSN?

If yes..please PM me your MSN THANK YOU

Sorry, my mistake for saying you need to use firmware 2.2. After reading the guide, it not necessary to revert to 2.2. Remain at Fw 2.2.1.

Now, all you need to do is to follow the guide on first post to find what BL you're on. What you're doing now is to downgrade the baseband only, not the firmware.

1) Find your BL version
2) Make sure your iPhone is 5.08 BL and install MobileTerminal via Cydia to your iPhone.
3) Follow the iClarified guide to downgrade baseband.
4) Use yellowsn0w to unlock. Done

AFAIK, all original firmware was from itunes, it's just a matter if you downoading it directly from itunes or download it from other link..

as for you iphone, you dont need to downgrade your firmware, just use the baseband downloader will do, just follow guide bro david told you and everything will be perfect then,

in order for yellowsn0w to work, it is a must to have baseband 2.28.00 and yellowsn0w will work, if you on 2.30.03 and use yellowsn0w it wont work eventhough you have install the yellowsn0w app into your iphone..hope your baseband is on 5.8 if not then you cant downgrade your baseband.

p/s: dont need to restore because you only downgrade the baseband only not the firmware. good luck and share the result with us ok..

cheers.

lol, hehe, so it means that you cant downgrade your baseband "yet"...lets just hoping that geoHotz( the person who create the exploit) or his team do another miracles and who know maybe those on bootloader 6.02 also can downgrade their baseband.smile.gif

cheers
Taka.

upgrading to a beta firmware with that baseband is never recommended. Dev Team themselves stated that they will not have support for these (unlocking etc.) till the actual 3.0 is out. so for now you gotta just live with it.

That being the case, you can only hardware unlock your unit by using turbo/rebel/gevey SIM.

Yep, it is not so good. Once you are on FW2.2.1, at this point in time, that's the only way to go unless you do what genocide suggested. At least you have that option. For sets from the States, there is no alternative at all. It's your call.

You can try using Gevey Sim unlockers as they are available for Fw 2.2.1. Seems to be better than Turbo sim.

For assistance, you can try asking Hanxz to help you.
