QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Mar 12 2009, 10:05 PM) without accusing you (so don't get hyped up), did you purchase those apps? because licenses issued to purchased apps/music/podcasts/videos are tagged with your apple id and they are unique to you. hence there shouldn't be any reasons on why they will appear as unverified. @nokia2003 Are you saying therefore that free apps and/or third party apps will not be available for re-syncing after say a restore or jailbreak?

QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Mar 12 2009, 10:27 PM) no, not at all. i frequently restore both my iphone and computer and there hasn't been any problems to retrieve them from the app store. however, i cannot speak on behalf on the third party apps, downloaded from cydia as i do not jailbreak mine. but i believe frozzbyte has once told me that there is a dedicated app (from cydia of course) where you can back them up - hassle free! Noted. Thank you.

QUOTE(Yuiko001 @ Apr 14 2009, 08:21 PM) Bought from maxis we need to jailbreak it? if not,any funtion we cant use? I will attempt to answer your question. There are functions you cannot access to if you do not jailbreak your iPhone, whether it is Maxis' or not. Certain softwares are not downloadable to your iPhone if it is not jailbroken, the most crucial to a wide spectrum of people, being the SB Setting. But to jailbreak or not your iPhone is your call.

QUOTE(kw87 @ Apr 22 2009, 01:08 AM) but the phone is already in msia now, can unlock by software like phone from other countries? That being the case, you can only hardware unlock your unit by using turbo/rebel/gevey SIM.

QUOTE(kw87 @ Apr 22 2009, 12:53 PM) I read some review on hardware like turbo sim, seems like their not so good. Can I bring to sg for singtel to unlock or lowyat tat someone might me able to do? Yep, it is not so good. Once you are on FW2.2.1, at this point in time, that's the only way to go unless you do what genocide suggested. At least you have that option. For sets from the States, there is no alternative at all. It's your call.

QUOTE(yuchery @ Apr 27 2009, 06:43 PM) just came back from maxis centre.. the mobile trainer restore myiphone twice, go nextdoor for free public wifi (i cant imagine they dont have their own wifi inhouse), and finally gave-up. call dont know who, technical specialist i guest, and declare hardware prob. then he submit one form, took my iphone for one on one replacement..will get it on this thursday.(HOPEFULLY). he also mentioned that in malaysia they cant repair it, nearest in singapore. btw,.. cant they detect jailbroken iphone? just curious... since they are sending my phone to KL HQ. You're lucky whoever attended to you didn't notice that your iPhone was jb'ed before restoring to test (if you didn't restore before bringing in), otherwise your warranty will be null and void. If you did, they are none the wiser if your phone was jb'ed before.

QUOTE(TakanoKyohei @ Apr 28 2009, 01:05 AM) i have use singtel set and have been jailbreak it from 1st day got that iphone .. so far no problem (for me) when jailbreaking the iphone, those who have issue maybe some hardware problem ot etc, there is no such thing if we jailbreak it we cant upgrade it because AFAIK if you restore it it will totally become new and can start restore jailbreaking etc again, trust me, its good to jailbreak the phone because we can use the iphone to the max capability . @daifuku Like Bro. Taka confimed what have I said, jailbreaking will not affect anything. If at all anything happens to your iPhone after that, it is not due to the fact that you have jailbroken your phone. But ulimately, it is your decision to do it or not and not because someone advises you to.
