if your iphone has not been jailbroken, replacing your contacts to +01X XXXXXXX, is the your only solution

then i pawn it again, yet still the same thing, stuck at apple logo, then the phone vibrates

If you can't download the callerfix ID, do it manually. Follow the guide below.

I've completed the jailbreaking process just now. However,after all is done, the phone cannot detect my sim card. It shows nothing at the network bar on the top left of my screen.fyi,I'm using an unlock iPhone 3G. I've also checked my settings, there's no field for carrier. Am I missing something here?

Did you manage to get an activation screen on iTunes and on your phone after you Jailbreak?

As to the no "Carrier" in Settings, that's not good.

Can you provide us more info as where is the origin of the 3G iPhone from? Look for the "Part No" behind the iphone box and let us know the what's stated.

Also, do let us know what software you use to JB the phone.

I am in a state of confusion with upgrading firmware with a JB Iphone 3G...i currently owned a JB Iphone 3G and since there's a firmware update from apple to 2.2.1..i know i need to back up the 3rd party apps..so i can restore it after..but my confusion lies in how should i do it? can i just use quickpawn the latest version released? and are there steps in between that i should be aware of? all this jailbreaks process seems complicated and i don't want to mess it up! im not in msia at the moment...so i cnt jst end up at an apple shop explaining all this. lol. so please ?

Firmware 2.2.1 is not worth the upgrade.
If you have already a jailbroken iPhone 3G (which is locked version), better NOT upgrade!

What do u mean by not good? fyi, before jailbreaking, the carrier field was always there.

I bought the iPhone from one of the members here (imsobloodysick @ Jason). Its an official unlocked Singtel unit. As for the part no, i'm not able to provide it right now coz i'm in the office currently. will let u know once i got back home.

i'm using the Windows QuickPwn 2.2.5 (which is provided in here) & I manage to follow the tutorial provided without any problem, until this problem happened.

Any clue on what's happening?

When you do restore you need to activate your phone via itunes then only proceed to jailbreak using quickpwn. I encounter same problem before because I didn't activate with Itunes before using quickpwn.

what do you mean by 'activate your phone via itunes'? is it by connecting my iPhone to the PC via the USB cable & let the iTunes detect my iPhone first? If thats what u mean, I already did that before proceeding with the quickpwn.

so, what did you do after encountering this problem? did you restore the phone to its original setting using iTunes? shud i do that?

Added on February 11, 2009, 12:08 pmBut, during the process of putting my phone in DFU mode, i did it twice coz i didnt manage to follow the instruction correctly the first time & i remember i did unplug the phone from the usb cable briefly during the process before connecting it back. Was that the reason??

but the JB process continued normally after that...damn confuse lahh

After you restore, u must see the word your iphone is activated in Itunes and the carrier signal must come in at that time.

hmm, not sure bout that. cant really recall what was on the screen last nite. so, what do i need to do now? do i hv to restore it back to its original condition & JB again?
