Ok.. Just to share Aptbackup.. I had JB 2.2.1... Aptbackup works by restoring about 80% of my 3rd party apps.. The restore process took about 30 minutes..How it work is

1.) Press backup on aptbackup
2.) Backup your data by syncing it through itune
3.) After JB, restore all data via itune
4.) Install aptbackup, press Restore

Done.. 80% of my app is restored..

My iPhone 2G has been officially unlocked for the first time!

It has been a very exciting experience. The 3 hours period to download the ROM, the anxious reading of the steps and rehearse them again and again so I don't miss them when I do it, the asking of questions and waiting for replies, and lastly, the difficult task of opening the sim tray (with TurboSim inside = ='' ).

Ok, small hiccup.

My Notes, put back in the folder var/mobile/Library/Notes/Notes.db and permission set as 0644, Owner:mobile and Group:mobile but its not appearing. Folder also set the same permission but still cannot.

Please help.

Edit: ok, i manage to fix it by creating a note and saving it then replace the file again. Voila, the notes is there again!

just jaibroke my iphone 3g and installed biteSMS. what a relief.

now looking for other cool apps.

is there anything better than MakeItMine for changing carrier name?

biteSMS is really cool bro.. apart from tat,
u can get apps 2 edit ur theme, fonts,

make is mine is da easiest app 2 change da carrier name
easy n simple...
others, u can try using da maxis or digi logo and put it thr la...but nothing beats 2 put smting of ur own..

No idea.. It just did not appear to be there. So i have to manually reinstall via Cydia

anyone tried the latest yellowsn0w 0.9.8? i'm on 0.9.6 and it's working fine for me actually (just sometimes signal is lost and i gotta toggle the Airplane mode On/Off or reboot the phone to make it work again, happened to me twice in the last 1 month) just wonder should i update to 0.9.8. it says that 0.9.8 resolves WiFi and slowness issues.

Tried Quickpwn in Parallels VISTA, but always stuck at detecting the phone. iTunes in VISTA can detect with no issue.

This is my first JB attempt on an unlock set...i guess better stick to my virgin iPhone 3G 2.2.1 haha!

Yes..that's the current firmware on your iPhone.

I restore back the contacts into the phone but incoming calls start with +01X XXXXXXX does not recognise the stored contacts in my phone as 01X XXXXXXX unless i change the contacts in my phone to +01X XXXXXXX.

How to resolve this issue?
