I'm also experiencing the same problem as begong... Have tried to QuickPWN a few times following the instructions given. I'm able to JB my iPhone 3G, and its running on firmware 2.2 now. Able to use the springboard, but unable to detect my SIM card. I noticed that my modem firmware is currently at version 02.30.03. Is this preventing me from unlocking my network? Same as begong, my carrier is (null) (null). I currently can use all the programs, safari, cydia, installer, 3rd party apps & etc except for making calls, receiving, and sms.

if locked unit just enjoy ur ipod touch for awhile...jk jk ..anyway im also having problems. My 3g iphone locked unit i managed to unlock & jb. But the reception not really as good as my 2g iphone. Half bar in my 3g unit, full bar in my 2g unit. Anyone encounter this? n anyone knows if ispaziorepo are dead or down?

Does ur 3G signal tends to drop to 2-3 bars signal or something totally no signal?

i have this experience with my software unlock iphone..just curios if this has anything to do with yellowsnow...

it is a commonly accepted fact, that artificially unlocked iphones (may it be via hardware or software) will usually yield a much lower network strength. this includes overall edge/3g speed as well

as sad as it may sound, i'm pretty much in front of the computer most of the time (and also LYN). hence i'll try to give a helping hand as much as i can, provided the questions are not stupid/retarded/mentally challenged.

when i run QuickPwn with my iphone connected the software prompt:
"This version of QuickPwn can only jailbreak devices with version >= 2.0"
currently my iphone firmware is 1.1.4....
how do i upgrade to firmware 2.0??...

You backup all your files manually already? You do it using WinSCP and OpenSSH. Read the 1st post as well as post in page 79 onwards by me.

Please read the first post as tutorial/guides are provided to help you to upgrade from Fw 1.1.4 to 2.2/2.2.1. Just follow the instructions carefully and you'll do fine.

I JB my 3G using quickpwn 2.2.5 to FW2.2.1, checked on both cydia & installer. But after JB there's no cydia & installer to be seen. Cant seems to find it. I re-JB again, same results. Any idea? Came across this the 1st time, previous JB attempts were successful.


EDIT:
i think its got to do with the "catagories" application from cydia. All those itune & 3rd applications which were sorted into folders cannot be found after sync. Maybe i should try restoring & JB again. Will update later.

yes bro..all the apps tat u put in any folders wud not show up...
u hv 2 do clean restore...
then jb...
it shud fix it...

There's no need of bsd system on Fw 2.2.1. OpenSSH is available via Cydia.
