ya, 800=PC6400

for my case, the original 1GB ProMOS RAM is removed, and 2GB kingston is added
3GB (1GB ProMOS + 2GB kingston) is slower than 2GB kingston alone
maybe 2 different barnd 'fight' with each other, or 2 slots is 'hot' cool2.gif

Check the Properties. Make sure the option "Independent controls for installed wireless devices" has been clicked.
Then only could see the Action Button to Turn On/Off the device.

Hope this could help u.

guys, i have some questions for the some of the owners here. currently in my mind I have a few selected models I wanted. This are:

1. cq40-125ax (rm2099)
2. cq45-127tx (rm2809)
3. cq45-129tx (rm3099)

I have browse through the thread for these models. For cq40-125ax it seems that a number of users complaining about the heat issues. So may I know whether users for cq45 series having the same heat issue or only for those with cq40 series?

Also I will like some opinion whether the extra of almost to RM1k price difference for cq45 worth it? if i to take cq45 series which is a better choice? 127tx or 129tx? and if possible mind letting me know the estimated weight for the laptops?

Thanks a plenty guys smile.gif

p/s: budget is around RM3k +-. However if possible I will like to have get better deal and price. Or should I just go for Dell? rclxub.gif

My CQ45-129TX the heat comes from left palm rest area. It's where the Hitachi HDD at below.

No heat on other areas. biggrin.gif

I would suggest you go for option 1 or 3.

It's best to install with extra 2 x 2gb RAM = 4gb. Ditch the original 1gb RAM. It gonna cost u extra ~RM240. hehe.

So it seems like u only left with option 1. lolz.

p/s: CQ45-129TX come with Finger Print sensor, in which it's quite fun. Can log in windows with a finger swipe. hehe.

Thanks a lot for the input smile.gif So is it very significant for the heat? Cause I going be having the lap on for maybe few days laugh.gif i heard few issues on nvidia gc currently. does that affect 9200 series? (the overheating issue)

I just want to know is it really worth the extra RM1k to jump from 125ax to 129tx tongue.gif as a better processor, ram, gc, wireless N, fingerprint sensor?

CQ40-129AX no Wireless N meh?

As i said, it's up to u. hehe.

Nvidia 9200M no heat feeling at all. I dont even know where the chipset located. Coz no heat ma. lolz.

But for ur info, C2D processor under normal circumstances, the speed only at 1.6Ghz due to power saving. Enough to use lor.. i dont see any slowness also.

Hello guys!! i am a newbie with compaq's and just purchase a cq20 125 tu..I have always been a Toshiba fan and been using this brand many years..recently while out looking for a replacement I came across the new range of compaq's cq series..i must say that compaq has really made some improvement on the quality of their products..I was impressed with the specs on the cq20 and the shop that I went to had only a display..so I went to Low lat and PJ digi mall and was suprised that none of them had stock, one of the shop at LY told me that compaq is downgradding the cq20 to a t5800..so I had not choice but to purchase the display unit at cineleisure mall..anyways, I'm very happy with my new purchase plus it doesn't run as hot as my Tosh..only the cooling fan and disc drive sounds a little louder compared..finishing seems to be quite good, one way to get finger prints from sticking on the shiny casing is that i use a little auto wax and it seem quite fingerprint proof and keeps it shiny and smooth..

@trustgtr:

oh... i never thought of using Auto-wax to polish laptop surface! should try later lolz

@coolkidz:

All 14.1" laptop are at same weight. Regardless brand, that's ~2.4kg.

I only not satisfied on the heat generated on left palm rest area + gloosy easily-get-scratch front panel.

Vista is excellent la... why dont give a try? equipped with 4gb RAM, run everything smoothly. Visual effect is awesome too!
