QUOTE(dleonseng @ Oct 26 2008, 06:31 PM) hi guys! recently i bought a cq60(don't think its out in market yet, employee purchase) that came with freedos. i wanted to install xp professional on it. when i pop in the disc and selected to boot from disc, the screen went blank for like 5 minutes then BSOD. 0xF78DE524,0xC0000034,0x0000000, 0x0000000 ^ this came out. Help? strange thing is when i pop in vista home basic installation dvd the setup immediately started. Am i stuck with vista? but i seriously prefer xp pro though. Post some pics of the CQ60. I had the same problem albeit with a different model last time. The culprit was the Windows XP disc. Tried another one and voila! This post has been edited by cannavaro: Oct 28 2008, 02:39 AM

Hi all,
I am interested to get Compaq Presario CQ20 laptop, but from their website, i found so many different variants but then i can't find the details/specs for each variant.
I went to check at some computer shops, initially i thought only CQ20-125TU (Core2Duo P8400), which is RM 2509, but then when i want to get one, they told me no stock already and the new batch to come is CQ20-123TU.
I tried to check the specs for CQ20-123TU at the web but can't find any info (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=3795185&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us). Anyone has its specs?
Yesterday, i found out that some computer shops do carry CQ20, but their stock is CQ20-213TU (Core2Duo T5800), also cost RM 2509.
So, which one is better then? Any advice? Thanks.

go for processor P e.g. P8400 or 8600 series. Those are new series with 3MB cache and supports up to 1066 mhz FSB.
my CQ45-129TX is P8600. 2.4Ghz. hehe.

Thanks for the advice. Yep, i wanted to get the CQ20-125TU with P8400 processor, but the shops told me out of stock already and now mostly selling CQ20-213TU with T5800 processor. They told me there is a new variant coming in i.e. CQ20-123TU but i can't find the specs for this, anyone know which processor in this version? Where can i find the specs for all these different versions?

QUOTE(cloud9_lee @ Sep 13 2008, 02:56 PM) Mine is auto-loaded with Dos Menu with Vista/XP/Command Line. The splash screen just appears 1 second then continue with Vista loading. Oh you mean at the BIOS menu, the Factory Installed OS: Not Vista? Nothing special about that. Just only becoz we purchased the Freedos version. I think that's for HP service centre to identify when we send for repair. Cloud9_Lee, I'm an owner of CQ45-129tx too. Is there any way to make the splash screen disappear?
