Anyway I personally think seller should be responsible cause he sold it saying it s478 which it isn't. No matter intel site or whichever site says it's wrong. It's not his fault that he didn't know it's s479.

which quote seller say his CPU is S478?
he said the CPU is S479 with 478 pins...
S479 and 478 pins is different things...
like proton wira have 1.3, 1.5, 1.6 cc engine...

someone look at the processor and please quote the exact stepping and model number of the proc.

Then crosscheck with intel. I am sure it will reveal the correct make/model of the proc.

Post it here so that experts can check it up.

So, not only he is not at fault, it is his DEMAND. Maybe he scream or shouted at the seller but some people do get angry because i wanted to buy apple but got orange. Perhaps it's not nice for buyer to shout at seller but seller should still be responsible.

Seller can't just put the blame on source of his information even if it's from manufacturer. And seller unable to cope with this kind of customers then better don't do business because this kind of customers will always be around.

I just figure it out, s479 cpu has 478 pin as well. ( Can refer to the link provided by TS at 1st post  )
S479 = 478 pin , S478 = 478 pin , S478 and 478 pin can be different stories.

nvm, we learn with each other from here...

now depend on buyer how to convince for refund from seller lo...
as result, i think should be buyer's fault that mis-read seller's post...

last time i almost get the same scenario like ongbs's case to sell my laptop SD ram...
the buyer ask for laptop SD Ram for his friend, he said confirm used for laptop and SD ram interface...
i tell him double confirm with his friends and take my picture to confirm the ram's leg able to slot in...
guess what he say the laptop's ram slot is desktop's ram slot (if no mistaken) 
i dont know he say the truth or not lah or dont want to buy from me...
but at least free hassle for refund issues... win-win solutions...
maybe seller should take little responsibilities that dont have re-inform again with buyer about his CPU only for laptop...
just my tiny cents...

Dear seller..,

Please refund this buyer money as you clearly mislead the buyer by stating it is a 478 pin processor.

Refunding it smoothly will only clear back your name  and just admit is as your typo mistake..

Refusing to refund.. will only add your name to the Buyers beware conmen list .. and this will not help you at all..

Yes he should refund. Coz it's the seller's responsible to makesure the buyer buy what they want.btw TS, did u google whether the proc u bought?

1st) he said that he put a picture stated that he already post the pic, it's buyer fault not to see picture clearly.
socket 478 and 479 basically same, impossible for buyer to count all the pins base on the picture itself

2nd) he put wrong description. as a seller we do have responsiblity to put correct description for our thread.
buyers can claim for refund if they found out the seller's description is incorrect, you can check our own malaysian consumers law for it, clearly stated.

3rd)if seller put wrong description and refuse to refund you can lodge a report against him . 1st u need to lodge a report at nearby police station, and after that u need to bring the report to lodge another report against the seller at consumer department, they will review your case after that, if your claim found genuine, they will take legal action against seller,no lawyer is needed

4th) after u lodge the report at consumer dep, you can consult with your lawyer to take legal action against him also...if u want to.


but my point of view....solve this peace...

I am a human too so I'll get angry too who wont? And seller dont talk like you are very nice and polite (what kind of seller who argue with buyer I qwant to ask?) ongbs you are a very bad temper also from what I sense from your atittude.
