Regarding this , i just refer to intel staff and oversea hardware review website editor,
according to them , Intel did produce s478 cpu for laptop,
due to overheat problem, later on they came out with pentium M (s479) as replacement.
In that case , the intel spec finder link ( provided by ongbs) is wrong as pentium M should be s479

Sorry, nothing wrong with the intel spec finder. S479 cpu has 478 pin, that's correct

my bad, i made a mistake just now by saying the intel spec finder contains wrong info
I just figure it out, s479 cpu has 478 pin as well. ( Can refer to the link provided by TS at 1st post )
S479 = 478 pin , S478 = 478 pin , S478 and 478 pin can be different stories.

I'd checked ongbs's sales thread for several times. I did not see he mentioned the cpu is s478.
