Anyway I personally think seller should be responsible cause he sold it saying it s478 which it isn't. No matter intel site or whichever site says it's wrong. It's not his fault that he didn't know it's s479.
*

which quote seller say his CPU is S478? sweat.gif
he said the CPU is S479 with 478 pins...
S479 and 478 pins is different things...
like proton wira have 1.3, 1.5, 1.6 cc engine...

my bad, i made a mistake just now by saying the intel spec finder contains wrong info  sweat.gif
I just figure it out, s479 cpu has 478 pin as well. ( Can refer to the link provided by TS at 1st post  laugh.gif )
S479 = 478 pin , S478 = 478 pin , S478 and 478 pin can be different stories.

nvm, we learn with each other from here... tongue.gif

now depend on buyer how to convince for refund from seller lo...
as result, i think should be buyer's fault that mis-read seller's post...

some info differentiate between S478 and S479
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_479

last time i almost get the same scenario like ongbs's case to sell my laptop SD ram...
the buyer ask for laptop SD Ram for his friend, he said confirm used for laptop and SD ram interface...
i tell him double confirm with his friends and take my picture to confirm the ram's leg able to slot in...
guess what he say the laptop's ram slot is desktop's ram slot (if no mistaken) sweat.gif
i dont know he say the truth or not lah or dont want to buy from me...
but at least free hassle for refund issues... win-win solutions...
maybe seller should take little responsibilities that dont have re-inform again with buyer about his CPU only for laptop...
just my tiny cents... smile.gif

now the processor is at his place.
how to guarantee that the processor from him is still working after he get the refund?
this is quite dangerous,no insurance for Ongbs.
*

read my post properly leh...

"and check the CPU under working condition before refund..."

means refund to buyer if confirmed the CPU still usable by seller...

One nice idea too.

Since buyer made the mistake of not check properly before he make the purchase, maybe now he can just resell it back in LYN smile.gif
*

yeap... even seller posted the CPU picture as well...
buyer should check the picture to ensure that the CPU's pin able to slot in into his mobo socket before purchase...

Well, since buyer still not turning up...nothing much I can do here...

I just got some spare times to read again this whole thread...
Just notice that some ppl blamed me as I didn't inform buyer this is S479....
*

most of ppl think "customer always right"...
that why they blamed u blindly without understand the whole story and understand ur thread's information...
in fact S479 have 478 pins, some more u posted the CPU picture, nothing can deny... smile.gif
means buyer saw the picture is orange and agreed to purchase it...
but he ate the orange and the taste is no the one he want, he want apple and the apple's taste...

My actual concern about possibility that he will return is due to damage during shipping, that is why I really spent time to pack this processor nicely.
Base on my postage experience the only possibility to damage my packing is the parcel been stacked by a heavy object >15kg, if this really happen then the "damage outlook" of the parcel can easily be identified and he got the right not to accept the item.
*

for seller buyer side, we can no to accept it if parcel packaging been open or damaged... just go to post office and get it on the spot and open in front of them... any damage can claim from post office... officers cant argue since we open parcel in front of them...

for buyer seller side, should draw a fragile logo / stick a fragile sticker on the box and inform the officers that ur parcel is fragile items, so they will take note on it...
