Yeah RM299 is kinda steep but when I bought mine, it was actually retailing at RM185. I believe the RM 299 one has an attenuator.

Huh???Is that real? I found that 40" full HD already RM4999? Is that 46" also full HD? But they free HDMI DVD player for that 40"(not much use since cant play full HD blu-ray disks or HD DVD). Can you provide some links?

yeah..as my budget does not exceed rm4000....
i narrow down my scope to 2 plasma TV's...
LG 42" PG20 series and Panasonic 42PV8H...
between these two, which one is the best for me...?
in terms of gaming and beautiful TV resolution (astro)....
or you guys want to suggest other models or brands(<rm4000)?

Not OLED, its LED differen...instead of CCFL backlightning, which is ordinary one that commonly used on LCD TV, LED LCD uses few tiny white LED provides light to the screen, that one still quite new in TV but I remember Sony already got one of it and it is super slim but not as slim as OLED. So I wonder is there any available model in Malaysia since it is still new to us...compare to CCFL backlightning, LED is much lighter and thin and also brighter. Sony one is uses four white LED on four corner of the screen and light up the screen but my laptop one is 32 small pieces(don't know why so many and the viewing angle quite good).
Which shop selling Samsung A650? Its full HD and 46" and only RM6000 I would connect it using a pc and play HD movie on it haha.
Thinking to get one but anyone please provide me some info about it.

u may refer to my last thread at v2 which i had compare between these 2 plasma tv,LG pg20r and Pana pv80h.for Pana pv80 and pv8h are almost same thus pv80 hav additional sd card,3hdmi CAT.
PQ wise to compare LG and Pana,i set both at std configuration setting while playback BD Ice Age2.for LG are more details you can see in dark scene,colour more natural as spec for LG also impress.
u may go to the shop to compare both side by side as wat i did,set both at same configuration setting while playback BD with animation.eventhough prices are also cheaper than Pana.
if you are wanna to watch astro,dvd,BD,tv,game then plasma are suitable and if you are gonna to play game,dvd and computer then lcd are suitable.as i can says that it is depend on individual personal liking.
for myself,i had oredi bought 37" lcd which use to play games,my eyes are getting tired due to long hrs game play(4~6hrs).watch dvd may not so good espcially at dark scene where i can"t see the details.

I've compared the Pioneer 508XG (HDready only) vs Panny PY800 vs LG PG60UR...

Price 15k vs 9k (FullHD) vs 14k (60")

together with my wife who is not tech savvy and not really demanding on PQ....she can see clearly the differences in PQ, the Pioneer are better than the FullHD Panny and she ask me to forget about the LG even though it's a 60" as the PQ really sucks! even compared to out 3 years old Sony LCD V-series.

so ended up buying which, Taukeh BD?

well i might be considering LG42" PG20 seires as according to sifu choontoy..it offers better specs and clearer image compared to Panasonic PV8H...plus the PV8H does not have gaming mode which the LG has....and how bout the HDMI version?i saw LG is 1.3 version but i don't know bout Panasonic PV8..does this make significant impact on the pictures...?
and pluas what is the difference between LG 42' PG20 and PG10 series?as the latter is cheaper a bit...

Sony 40' W series really makes me drools, saw at senQ and Harvey Norman also at ard 7.5k, anyone knw where can get cheaper?

I just now went past Panny Plasma Fair & I am surprised that Panny HD ready PV-8 model displayed such a high detailed PQ. When I asked the salesman what source he feeded the tv, he says it uses panny bluray player.

To all the sifus, does this HD ready tv support 1080p signal ?? Its picture quality is much improved compare to normal dvd play. During this promotion, they are selling the panny BD player at RM2499 which I taught is a best buy at the moment. What is your expert's opinion?

Dude if you want RM500 cheaper, go for older version 300 (KLV-40W300A) at RM6999. The latest one is version 400 (KLV-40W400A). W series the PQ is really good. I would go for this one last year but at the time version 300 is RM9999

hmm i would suggest going for W400 rather than W300 (even though W300 has better enclosure) as the W400 is basically the X series minus the motionflow.. ok now my advice on the W400, if ure content will be mainly Blurays and other HD contents, then knock urself off with the Wseries... however, if ur content wont just be limited to HD contents, then plz do urself a favor and wait for the new X series.. u wont regret (or u can get the one now but id suggest u to wait)

if lcd/plasma dont make a diff for u then, look at the Kuros.. get them now as the new kuros wont make any screen <50" anymore.. (aha i love this cockyness)
