gsdev, it has already dropped. By quite a lot too. 40" Full HD is now slightly above RM4.1K mark. 46" even more tempting.

The Samsung Raya promo ends on 19.10.2008

I only hope that it goes to 480p. If Astro goes 720p, expect to pay exorbitant fees for it.

Yeah, very cheap indeed from this PG seller.

If viewing distance is 6-7m, better opt for HD pj for WOW effect. Seriously, nothing cld beat the big screen effect (provided that you have ample space and suitable environment)

How abt Samsung LA40A550 Full HD LCD TV at abt RM4,150?

D9 has larger space compared to the conventional DVD (4.7GB). It can store more data in it. Hence, less compressed, which translates to better AQ and most probably PQ.

Holy crap... that's like back row at the mamak... 50" plasma also too small leh... You need a projector and a 100" screen. smile.gif
*

I am sitting at abt 14' from the screen. Screen size is 92" whistling.gif Even it is only 720p, the WOW effect is thumbup.gif

You are right. 50" looks puny at this distance. I bet rx330 would definitely agrees. His 42" plasma has been downgraded as secondary display

Sharp 42A63M has better PQ and very nice color. Tosh a bit pixelated when being fed with poor source or SD source.

The manual is a general manual for most of the region. You get the correct set. I think the K might denotes the region.

Jcvendetta, it will be tax. Not sure abt the exact %. I guess nothing less than 30%.

Ignore my PM to you.

In Tosh MY website, it does not show that it supports 1080p 24fps

I second that warranty is a BIG issue when come to choosing a HDTV model. Thats why I picked Panny Plasma with 5 yrs warranty.

I have a technician frd whom he have repaired number of plasma or lcd tvs mostly after 1 to 3 yrs of usage. Another thing is the services and parts widely available.
*

The problem or quality issues relating to plasma tv and LCD TV could be due to the 'infancy' of these 'new' technology. 3years is long time for any given electronic and electrical appliances. Plasma tv and LCD TV have come a 'long' way with a lot of improvements. Years ago, the lifespan is abt 30,000 hours only. Now, it is double or more. We hope with the maturity of these tech, the problems could be minimized smile.gif

A extended warranty by manufacturer itself is always welcome thumbup.gif

There are a few sets of plasma tv (Pana, Tosh, Pioneer, LG) being switched on for abt 8 - 10hrs a day (except Sun), which is being fed by Astro signal. Hence, there is a logo at the top right corner. After 3 months, I do not see any burn-in.

There is another set, which is solely meant for display. It been like 7 months or so, no problem at all.
