Hello...

I have a pv80... Does anyone know how to access to the service menu to check the usage-hour?

I have tried holding down the v- button on the tv and at the same time press "0" three times at the remote... But it didn't work...

Anyone can help??

Thanks.

Why don't u try CoreAVC 1.8? This version has settings for Contrast, Brightness, and Saturation..which u can try to play around with to get better colors.. Hmm, my cousin is asking me to setup a HTPC for his PV80, I didn't know there are so many problems with a HD ready panel.  So as long as u set to to 1024 * 768, u get 1 to 1 pixel mapping and it plays 720p mkv fine?

I set mine to 1280 X 768 (DVI-RGB) and it look good me... not sure weather 1 to 1 pixel or not la....

One question though... anyone know how to get to the service menu??

Quick question for Panny PV80 owner.

Can you find 'AV Colour System' setting in Setup?
I found it in manual, but not available in my TV, no matter in AVx, HDMIx or TV.
The reason I ask is because I suspect my TV is always stick with PAL.

I have a LG DVD Player, previously connect to a CRT TV, I'm able to see my DVD in original signal, NTSC -> NTSC, PAL -> PAL.
But now after connect to PV80, it always output as 576p/i (PAL). The problem is, the conversion of NTSC->PAL in the DVD Player is so bad. I can see those jerky jerky scenes every few seconds/minutes.
There is no option to set the output system in DVD Player. Although I can switch to 720p/1080i, but still has the same problem. Which means it will convert NTSC to PAL before upscale to 720p/1080i.

If you are a PV80 owner, can test if your TV can accept NTSC signal?

BTW, is DVD Player able to detect what signal your TV accept and output accordingly? Or else why I'm not able to switch my DVD Player to 480i/p (and my DVD movie is confirm NTSC).

Thanks for help!

YiQi,

The pv80 can accept both.

mine is displaying at 470p, if i change my dvd player output to PAL it will display at 576i. Maybe you have to mannually 'force' yr dvd player to output NTSC.
