I've compared the Pioneer 508XG (HDready only) vs Panny PY800 vs LG PG60UR...

Price 15k vs 9k (FullHD) vs 14k (60")

together with my wife who is not tech savvy and not really demanding on PQ....she can see clearly the differences in PQ, the Pioneer are better than the FullHD Panny and she ask me to forget about the LG even though it's a 60" as the PQ really sucks! even compared to out 3 years old Sony LCD V-series.

those D9 "blu-ray" does comes with better audio....the 1.5mbps track, so it does sound better too....

Astro picture looks very good on a good plasma set.....try the KURO on a newer TVB series....on a viewing distance of 7-8 feet.....very nice

If Pioneer drop their price of the PDP-508XG/428XG/LX508/LX608 when they launch the new models here...grab it....the PQ are among the best of flat panel TVs...

I don't think so, I am sitting 9' away from my 50" TV and thinking how nice if I can have a 65" TV

I think can get at RM24k for LX508, LX608 street price around RM37k

wait for the new KRP-500A/M or 600M...will be launching next year, Singapore already have theirs.....and the price are cheaper than the LX series (based on S'pore price)

so maybe for RM18k, u can get the 50" KURO FullHD.....

wanted to buy that last time....but looking at the PQ...my wife said, if u wanna buy this set, just stick with the old sony will do
so I ended up with a Pio smaller screen with an addition 2k.....

the PG60UR here are 1366 x 768 same as the EU model
only PG70 onwards here are fullhd...but the reflection are bad...

for RM15k, I would get either the Panny PY850 FullHD plasma or the outgoing Pioneer PDP-508XG (HD Ready).....

LG 60" - 13k
Pioneer 50" (1366 x 768) - 15k
Panny PY850 - 14k
Panny PY800 - RM9k
