One question for all sifus,

If my HDMI DVD player routed to AVR Surround using both HDMI & Optical cable, what do you think the avr would pick the audio signal, from HDMI or Optical??

Is there any difference in AQ between Optical & HDMI cable since both of them are carrying digital signal? Forget the loseless audio aspect.

Thanks.

a dedicated player to play compress avi files shd be better cos they support multiple formats, codecs...for DV410 it can only read DIVX format....but in terms of AV quality i guess they r all the same.. smile.gif

I would like to know.. apart from the ability to play SACD, how much better is the 610 when compared to the 410, in term of dvd playback performance. is there a significant performance advantage? but they are using the same chip right?
i bought the 410 coz it comes in black, while 610 only in silver.

Hi overfloe,

I'm not very sure on the dvd playback performance, however according to the sale person DV610 give a better sound as compare to DV410 since it is using a different sound chip. Price wise...I'm being offer a minor different as compare to DV410 and this DV610 does come with a piece of HDMI cable. thumbup.gif

The HDMI cable actually comes together with the set in the box. Those that didnt come with probably was taken out by the shop personnel or something.

Guys...like if we are using separate DVD players, what HTIB are you guys using that doesnt come with a DVD player ?

The pioneer 410 and other upscaling dvd players have its place in the next few years to allow us to enjoy our collection of dvds in 1080p in our latest full HD LCD TV. To me to go into blue rays is not cost effective at the moment.
