Will CD audio sound better with it's DAC compared to a Yamaha AVR?

i've checked they dun have any hdmi output.

very tempting on the DV600....if at the point i'm buying, the DV600 drops again..(pray to be RM400..heavenly) that will be my baby!!! hehe

Frankly...i can't see any difference...maybe i need specs...LOL.

I've an HDMI DVD player -> HDTV LCD. Between 720p and 1080i...really no difference....between 480p and 720p/1080i...well, hard to tell...maybe  a little bit...but nothing too exciting i suppose.

After 2 months didn't use my dvd player....yesternite cannot power on liao...  

One question for all sifus,

If my HDMI DVD player routed to AVR Surround using both HDMI & Optical cable, what do you think the avr would pick the audio signal, from HDMI or Optical??

Is there any difference in AQ between Optical & HDMI cable since both of them are carrying digital signal? Forget the loseless audio aspect.

DV410 or WD TV HD Media Player??

i just tried to play 720p divx (converted from .mkv) on the DV-410.. guess what, the player does not recognize the file at all.. so I googled and found out that the player only supports divx with resolution of 576 (PAL) or 480 (NTSC). i haven't tried WMV so don't know whether it can support or not..

but even the .avi file has lower res than 480, the picture is good and a lot better than astro LOL.. but i expected more on dvd playbacks.. not satisfactory.. would love to try tosh's xde-500 and compare with dv-410 if got the chance. i hope this is the last dvd player i will ever buy (later upgrade to BD player).

So, ar188, do you always set to DD 5.1 when watching BD ripped D9? Or switch to DTS surround?
How do I get the real DTS surround format? By buying the Original dvd?

i tried with original dvd, the PQ and SQ sound worst than my blu cover plastic D9

Are you sure is 4 days using First Class International? Then, how 'bout Priority Mail, should be even quicker as this service is the most expensive one.....?

IMHO go for DV410 ! i'm using that....

i got around 2 problematic so called blu ray dvd (err JS) bought in BJ last year and cannot be played in my current philips or lg dvd but the disc play smoothly in DV410 !
