Thanks for the various comments from members - the 410 is indeed good value. Saw at Norman at Mid Valley selling with free HDMI cable at RM369 but no stock. Denki Mid Valley & Times Sq sell at RM379 but also no stock. Denki KLCC sells at RM399. Jusco AU sells at RM399 wth no HDMI cable Managed to get at One Utama at RM379. Works fine with my Bravia 40S400 in 1080p

Pioneer 410 - Don't waste time asking places like Sen Heng, Courts and those small electrical shops. They will not be able to match the prices of Norman H or Denki or even Carrefour/Jusco promotion items. Furthermore most shops are trying to get rid of the older models. The hdmi cable is in a separate box with a Pioneer logo. The hdmi cable I got from my Bravia comes separately branded as giraffe. One more thing, it couldn't read my Hitachi SATA 320 G external 2.5. Any suggestions?

The pioneer 410 and other upscaling dvd players have its place in the next few years to allow us to enjoy our collection of dvds in 1080p in our latest full HD LCD TV. To me to go into blue rays is not cost effective at the moment.

QUOTE(stormaker @ Mar 13 2009, 08:16 AM) Bought Pioneer 410 last night. Overall satisfied with it. But, when I connect the Digital Audio Out using optical cable, there's no sound. It's only for DVD that support digital audio is it ? Hope that you have got your sound by now. Anyway also for Xchris infor, there is an optical and a coaxial output for 5.1 sound. You need to connect this with the appropriate cable to your av amp to get the sound. You must remember not to connect your rca cables to the same input in your av amp as rca can override your digital input. What you can do is to connect either optical/coaxial to dvd input and rca to CD input in your av amp. So you can hit the dvd buttion for digital sound and cd button for analog. Doby or dts is selected using the dvd player if the feature is present in the dvd itself. The below RM400 investment is value for money as you can now see dvds using the full screen in your full HD LCD without the distortion caused by using the zoom function of the LCD TV. As far as which player gives the best picture, I think you've got to find a retailer who is willing to match each player with your current LCD TV. I'm pretty happy with my pioneer 410 with my Sony Bravia 40s400 and old Onkyo av txds595 which are all budget equipments.
