Once you get into BDs bro, you will not buy new DVDs anymore. Just start your BD venture and only then you'll understand. biggrin.gif

For me I will still buy dvd and not thinking of venture into Bluray world. I think the premium paid for bluray disc & player is exceptionally high. Sony will be the one to have a last laugh as the licence fees alone will bring them a junk of wealth.

But I will not buy dvd other than the BD copied or dvd9. Using a upscaling player can still play superb pic quality with digital surround. In addition there are plenty available in reasonable price.

Hi, newbie here.

FYI, you can now buy OPPO DVD player from its authorised distributor in Singapore.  The guy called Sean and he is willing to courier the player to Malaysia.

I recently bought one from him, model DV981 for S$365 + shipping S$30.

Top of the line model DV983 is quoted at $599 before shipping.

No worry about custom duty as he will underdeclare the value.  I receive mine in good order direct to my house.

Anyone interested try google for his contact no. from Oppo website...

RM15 per disc but I found myself buy less and less these days. Instead, my original DVDs keep growing. Soon BD will join the collection tongue.gif

ahem dvd9..if not mistaken has also been referred to (here in this forum) as the following....

1. Uncle Ho's dvd
2. pakcik ho's dvd
3. POTC (pirates of the caribbean) dvd
4. Captain Jack Sparrow's dvd

blue film=blu-ray??

blue film would be ahem-ahem-cough-cough-wink-wink dvd5 or dvd9
